1. 没有信仰、不忠厚、爱撒谎、不考虑到来世的人,将可能做出种种邪恶的行为。
1. People without faith, unfaithful, fond of lying, and who do not consider the afterlife may be prone to committing various evil deeds.
2. 待人热诚,举止文雅,只要每天充满著喜悦,苦恼就会消失得无影无踪。
2. Be warm-hearted and courteous in your demeanor. As long as you are filled with joy every day, distress will vanish without a trace.
3. 莫轻视小善,以为我不会受报应。小水滴不断地落下,最后能灌满整个瓶子,所以聪明的人逐渐积集小善,而致使他整个人充满著福德。
3. Do not undervalue small virtues, thinking that I will not be recompensed. Little drops of water fall continuously, and eventually they can fill the entire bottle. Thus, the wise person accumulates small virtues gradually, which fills his whole being with virtue.
4. 贪爱、憎恨和愚痴是心理的三大污垢。杀害、盗窃、邪*是身体的三大污垢。挑拨离间(搬弄是非)讲粗话、撒谎、花言巧语是语言的四大污垢。
4. Greed, hatred, and ignorance are the three great defilements of the mind. Killing, stealing, and unrighteousness are the three great defilements of the body. Gossiping, using coarse language, lying, and flattery are the four great defilements of speech.
5. 一四○、让你的老年过得像童年一般天真浪漫,让你的童年过得像老年一般沉著稳重,这意思也就是说:不要在你的智慧中夹杂傲慢,也不要使你的谦卑缺乏智慧的成份。
5. Let your old age be as innocent and romantic as your childhood, and let your childhood be as calm and stable as your old age. This means that you should not mix arrogance with your wisdom, nor should you lack the element of wisdom in your humility.
6. 不要轻信别人的道听涂说,不要相信谣言,不要绝对信赖一般书籍。
6. Do not believe everything you hear from others, do not believe rumors, and do not place absolute trust in general books.
7. 当一个人感觉到不满而刻意追求时,他就成了爱渴的奴隶。
7. When a person feels dissatisfaction and deliberately pursues it, he becomes a slave to love hunger.
8. 化烦恼为菩提,观成败皆因果。只要我们耕耘好当下,在“因”上竭尽全力,那么果报就不会差。
8. Transform烦恼 into wisdom, see success and failure as causes and effects. As long as we cultivate the present well and exert all our efforts on the "cause," the retribution will not be bad.
9. 了解神圣永恒的事物,可适当地称为‘智慧’,对俗事的了解只不过是‘知识’罢了。
9. Understanding the sacred and eternal things, which can appropriately be called 'wisdom,' is merely 'knowledge' of mundane affairs.
10. 贪爱一百件事物,就有一百个苦恼,贪爱九十件,十件,五件,两件事物,就有九十个,十个,五个,两个烦恼。
10. Lusting after a hundred things brings a hundred troubles; desiring ninety things brings ninety troubles; desiring ninety things brings ten troubles; desiring five things brings five troubles; desiring two things brings two troubles.
11. 接触世俗的事物,内心不被诱惑,没有忧愁,没有瑕疵,心灵安定,这是多么幸福啊!
11. To be in contact with worldly matters yet remain untempted, without sorrow, without blemish, with a tranquil heart—what a bliss that is!
12. 在这个世界上,永远不可以用仇恨来止息仇恨,仇恨只可以慈爱来止息,这是一个永恒的真理。
12. In this world, hatred can never put an end to hatred; only love can extinguish it, and this is an eternal truth.
13. 贪心是最猛烈的火,憎恨是最坏的执着,迷惑和错误的见解是最难逃脱的网,爱欲是最难度过的河。
13. Greed is the most fierce fire, hatred is the worst attachment, delusion and erroneous views are the hardest nets to escape from, and love and desire are the hardest rivers to cross.
14. 胜利者招来怨恨,失败者生活在苦恼中。宁静的人舍弃胜败,所以平安幸福。
14. The victor draws enmity, the loser lives in distress. The tranquil person forsakes victory and defeat, thus enjoying peace and happiness.
15. 不要轻信自己的猜测,不要因为和你的意见相同而就加以相信,不要随便轻信权威。
15. Do not readily believe your own guesses, do not believe something just because it aligns with your opinions, and do not easily trust authorities.
16. 真正的修行,不是在山上,不是在庙里,而是在生活的冷暖炎凉之中。
16. True cultivation is not on the mountains, not in the temples, but amidst the cold and heat, warmth and chill of daily life.
17. 禅定不生于缺乏智慧的人,智慧也不生于没有禅定的人,同时有了禅定和智慧就接近没有烦恼的境界了。
17. Meditation does not arise in one lacking wisdom, nor does wisdom arise in one without meditation. With the presence of both meditation and wisdom, one approaches the realm of freedom from烦恼 (distress, troubles, worries).
18. 能真正洞悉苦恼的真相,也就能够知道苦恼的来源、没有苦恼的境界和消除苦恼的途径。
18. To truly understand the truth of suffering, one can also know the source of suffering, the state of being without suffering, and the path to eliminate suffering.
19. 只说好话而没有实行是毫无结果的,这好比一朵美丽的花,徒具颜色而没有芳香。
19. Saying only good things without following through is fruitless, just like a beautiful flower that only has color but lacks fragrance.
20. 只要是醒著,无论行、住、坐、卧,一个人就应该保持著这种慈悲的胸怀。
20. As long as one is awake, whether walking, standing, sitting, or lying down, one should maintain this compassionate mindset.
21. 在所有的礼物中,真理的播送最珍贵。在所有的味道中,真理的味道最佳。在所有的快乐中,真理的喜悦最大,拔除贪欲,便可以征服所有的苦恼。
21. Among all gifts, the sowing of truth is the most precious. Among all flavors, the taste of truth is the best. Among all joys, the joy of truth is the greatest. By eradicating greed, one can conquer all sorrows.
22. 在战场上征服百万雄师,远不如战胜自己。战胜自己的人是最伟大的征服者。
22. It is far better to conquer oneself than to conquer a million troops on the battlefield. He who conquers himself is the greatest conqueror.
23. 痛苦的根源是私欲,无论企求快乐、报复、或只企求长寿的欲望,都会导致痛苦。
23. The root of suffering is desire, whether it be the desire for happiness, revenge, or merely the desire for longevity, all of which lead to suffering.
24. 从今天开始,一个人应当努力改进他的心智,因为我们从来不知道什么时候死亡。
24. Starting from today, one should strive to improve their mind, as we never know when death will come.
25. 不及时努力学习,年轻力壮时就懒散不堪,生活没什么目标和思想,怠惰的人永远不能发现智慧之路。
25. Failing to study diligently in time, one will be lazy and slothful when young and vigorous, with little purpose and thought in life. Indolent people will never discover the path to wisdom.
26. 愿我能坚决勇敢,有毅力和恒心。愿我能仁慈、友善、富有同情心。愿我能谦卑、平和、宁静、沉著、安详。愿我能迈向完美的道路,而且能完喜地服务别人。
26. May I be resolute and brave, with perseverance and constancy. May I be kind, friendly, and compassionate. May I be humble, peaceful, tranquil, composed, and serene. May I walk the path to perfection and be able to serve others beautifully.
27. 让我们心中无限的爱,遍布整个世界,无论是宇宙的哪一个角落,都没有丝毫的障碍,怨恨和敌意。
27. Let the boundless love in our hearts envelop the entire world, with no hindrance, resentment, or hostility in any corner of the universe.
28. 我喜爱这本书的小巧玲珑、义理丰富、精简流畅、格调高雅。它蕴藏著无限的智慧,可以澄清人们内心的郁结焦虑;不但使人睁开他的眼,也能拓展人们的胸襟。
28. I appreciate this book for its compactness, rich in meaning, concise and smooth, and its elegant style. It contains limitless wisdom that can clarify people's internal depression and anxiety; it not only opens one's eyes but also expands people's horizons.

31. 在挫折中坚强,从烦恼中觉醒,我们要把对自己一切不友好的东西,通过自己这个转换器,变成一种有益于自己的力量。
31. To be strong in the face of setbacks, to awaken from troubles, we should transform everything unkind to ourselves through this converter, into a force that is beneficial to ourselves.

33. 到老年还一直保持良好品德的人是快乐的,信心坚固的人也是快乐的。得到智慧的人快乐,不做恶的人也快乐。
33. Those who maintain good virtues in old age are happy, and those with strong confidence are also happy. Those who acquire wisdom are happy, and those who do not do evil are also happy.
34. 通常发生下列这种情形:当一个人经历过坏医生的诊疗后,他连好医生也不信任了。
34. A common situation is as follows: After experiencing treatment from a bad doctor, a person no longer trusts even good doctors.
35. 衰老和死亡驱逐众生的生命,宛如牧人手里拿著棍子赶著牛群到牧场。
35. Aging and death drive the life of beings away, just like a shepherd driving a herd of cows to the pasture with a stick in his hand.
36. 有两种极端是修行人所不应做的。这两种极端是什么呢?‘贪图感官’的享乐是低级的、粗鄙的、俗气的、下流的,而且导致身心的损害;‘自我折磨’是痛苦的、卑鄙的,也同样会给身心带来伤害。然而完美的圣者所发现的‘中道’,避免以上两种极端,而带给你敏锐的洞察力和知识,引导你走向平安、睿智、觉悟和永恒的乐境。
36. There are two extremes that practitioners should avoid. What are these two extremes? The enjoyment of 'sensory desires' is low-level, coarse, vulgar, and indecent, and it leads to physical and mental harm; 'self-torture' is painful and despicable, and it also causes harm to the body and mind. However, the 'middle path' discovered by the perfect sage avoids these two extremes and brings you keen insight and knowledge, guiding you towards peace, wisdom, enlightenment, and the eternal state of bliss.
37. 教导别人应先以身作则。约束自己以后才能约束别人。约束自己实在难呀!
37. One should lead by example when teaching others. One must discipline oneself before one can discipline others. It's really hard to discipline oneself!
38. 纵使天上下金雨,仍不能满足感官的欲望。感官的欲望没什么快乐可言,只有痛苦。
38. Even if gold rain falls from the sky, it cannot satisfy the desires of the senses. There is no happiness in the desires of the senses; only pain.
39. 每一项罪恶,对犯罪者本身的损害比受害者大多了。
39. Every sin inflicts more damage on the perpetrator themselves than on the victim.
40. 欲望会导致痛苦,其主要原因乃是欲望永远无法完全满足。
40. Desire leads to suffering, mainly because desire can never be fully satisfied.
41. 能真正洞悉苦恼的真相,也就能够知道苦恼的来源,没有苦恼的境界和消除苦恼的途径。
41. To truly comprehend the truth of suffering, one can also understand the source of suffering, the realm without suffering, and the path to alleviating suffering.
42. 不可只依据逻辑、推论、或事物的外表来决断事理。
42. It is not permissible to make decisions based solely on logic, deduction, or the appearance of things.
43. 当罪恶的行为还没有成熟(尚未产生结果)时,愚笨的人视罪恶的行为如同甜蜜。可是当他的行为成熟时,他便有了忧伤。
43. When the evil deed has not yet ripened (has not yet produced results), the foolish person considers the evil deed as sweet. But when the deed has matured, he experiences sorrow.
44. “为什么莲花能代表人生智慧?因为所有的植物都是先开花,后结果,只有莲花因果同时,莲花开花的时候,莲子就在里面了,等到花开,莲子也成熟了,花是因,莲子是果,这就是因中有果,果中有因。
44. "Why can the lotus represent the wisdom of life? Because all plants bloom first and then bear fruit, but the lotus has both causes and effects simultaneously. When the lotus blooms, the seeds are already inside. By the time the flower blooms, the seeds are also mature. The flower is the cause, and the seeds are the fruit, which is a case of cause within fruit and fruit within cause."
45. 万法皆空,因果不空,莲花象征着化烦恼为菩提,如果没有污泥,莲花就无处扎根,烦恼就像水中的污泥,只有从烦恼中觉醒,才能绽放菩提之花。”
45. All methods are empty, but causality is not empty. The lotus flower symbolizes the transformation of烦恼 (distress and suffering) into菩提 (enlightenment). Without the mud, the lotus has no place to take root. Distress is like the mud in water; only by awakening from distress can the flower of enlightenment bloom.
46. 防止心意的愤怒,调御心猿意马,舍弃邪恶的念头,诚心履行正道。
46. Prevent the anger of the mind, subdue the restless monkey mind, abandon evil thoughts, and sincerely follow the path of righteousness.
47. 不嫉妒、不贪婪、没有私欲,在所有情况下,内心都持有那份宁静,这就是高尚!
47. Without jealousy, without greed, and without selfish desires, maintaining inner tranquility in all circumstances – this is the essence of nobility!
48. 放下过去的烦恼,不耽忧未来,不执著现在,你的内心就会平静。
48. Let go of the troubles of the past, do not worry about the future, and do not be obsessed with the present, and your mind will be at peace.
49. 假如一个人活了一百岁而没有真实的智慧,又不能自我规律,那倒不如只活一天,具有智慧和定静的功夫。
49. If a person lives to be a hundred years old but lacks genuine wisdom and cannot regulate themselves, it would be better to have only lived for one day, with the skills of wisdom and composure.
50. 乔达摩(释迦牟尼的姓)的弟子们:你们要好好觉醒,不论白天和夜晚,常常想念完美的圣者——佛陀。
觉者弟子们:汝等应善自觉悟,无论昼夜,恒常忆念圆满之圣者——佛陀。

52. 菩萨为因,凡人畏果。耕耘现在,改变将来。
52. The Bodhisattva seeks the cause, while the ordinary person fears the consequence. Cultivate the present, to change the future.
53. 固执某一件事物(或某种见解),而轻视其他事物是卑鄙的,智者称它为‘束缚’。
53. Being stubborn about a certain thing (or a certain viewpoint) while disregarding other things is despicable, and the wise call it 'bondage'.
54. 只有当自己知道某件事物的确不完善和错误时,你才能革除它。也只有当你自己确实知道某件事物是完善和正确时,你才能接受它,而且去身体力行。
54. You can only eliminate something when you truly know that it is imperfect and flawed. And it is only when you yourself truly know that something is perfect and correct that you can accept it and take action accordingly.
55. 莲花盛开的时候,莲子也就成熟了。人生的机遇到来的时候,也就是你逆天改命的时候。
55. When the lotus flowers bloom, the lotus seeds also mature. When the opportunities in life come, it is also the time for you to change your fate against the heavens.
56. 愿所有的生物、动物和人类,没有任何怨恨、疾病、忧伤,而且愿他(它)们都能快乐地保护自己。
56. May all beings, animals, and humans, have no resentment, illness, or sadness, and may they all joyfully protect themselves.
57. 九○、不做任何坏事,培养所有的善行,清净自己的心念,这是佛陀的教诲。
57. Do not do any evil, cultivate all good deeds, purify one's own thoughts and intentions, this is the teaching of the Buddha.
58. 让我们本著无限的爱心,去对待所有的生物,就如同慈母冒著生命的危险去保护自己唯一的孩子。
58. Let us treat all creatures with infinite love, as a loving mother risks her own life to protect her only child.
59. 读诵圣典虽然不多,可是遵照教法奉行,摒除贪欲、憎恨和愚昧,具有正确的智慧,心里没有挂碍,不贪恋今生和来世,便是启发心智的实行者。
59. Although the recitation of sacred texts is not extensive, one who follows the teachings, eliminates greed, hatred, and ignorance, possesses correct wisdom, is free from attachments, and does not desire this life or the next, is an practitioner who enlightens the mind.
60. 所有的境界都是以心为引导者。心是主人,所有的境界都是由心造成的。假如一个人本著污秽的心去言谈举止,那么苦恼便立刻会跟随他,宛如车轮紧随著挽牛的足蹄。
60. All realms are guided by the mind. The mind is the master, and all realms are created by the mind. If a person speaks and acts with a filthy mind, then suffering will immediately follow him, just as the wheel follows the feet of the ox that pulls it.
61. 不要为当下的困境而折腰,否则,你终身都将在困境里打转。不要为眼前的烦恼而纠结,否则你会一直在烦恼中内耗。
61. Do not bow down to the current predicament, or else you will be trapped in it for a lifetime. Do not entangle yourself in the present troubles, or you will continuously waste energy in them.
62. 待人热忱,举止文雅,只要每天充满喜悦,苦恼就会消失的无影无踪
62. Be warm and polite in your interactions, and as long as you are filled with joy each day, troubles will disappear without a trace.
63. 可以像莲花一样,扎根于现实的泥泞之中,从泥泞中觉悟智慧,从窘境中升华认知,从磨难中淬炼自己,让自己的智慧越来越通达,让自己的身体越来越强壮,让自己的心灵越来越丰富,让自己的能力越来越优秀,终于一天,我们变好了,世界就会把最好的礼物送给我们。
63. One can, like a lotus, take root in the muddy reality, gain wisdom from the mud, elevate cognition from困境, temper oneself through trials, and let one's wisdom become increasingly profound, one's body increasingly strong, one's spirit increasingly rich, and one's abilities increasingly excellent. Finally, when we improve ourselves, the world will bestow the best gifts upon us.
64. 莫轻视小善,以为我不会受报应,小水滴不断地落下,最后能灌满整个瓶子,所以聪明的人逐渐积集小善,而致使他整个人充满福德。
64. Do not undervalue small kindnesses, thinking that I will not receive retribution. Like tiny droplets of water continuously falling, they eventually fill the entire bottle. Therefore, wise people gradually accumulate small acts of kindness, and as a result, their entire being is filled with virtue.
65. 贪睡眠,爱闲聊,对所学的东西不感兴趣,做事情懒懒散散,急躁而没有耐心是导致堕落的重大因素。
65. Liking to sleep excessively, enjoying idle chatter, lacking interest in what one is studying, being lazy and disorganized in one's work, and being impatient and lacking patience are major factors leading to decadence.
66. 三○、愿我努力精进,勤奋不懈。愿我能宽容,能容忍、宽恕别人的过失,愿我能信守自己立下的诺言。
66. 30, May I strive diligently and never slacken my efforts. May I be tolerant, able to endure and forgive others' faults, and may I keep the promises I have made.
67. 聪明的人时常清除内心的污垢,就如同工匠清理银矿中的杂质。
67. The wise person often cleans the dirt within their heart, just as a craftsman cleans the impurities from silver ore.
68. 欺负你的人会替你生病,欺压你的人会替你受灾,伤害你的人会替你遭罪。所以我们不要把自己的能量浪费在别人的身上,别人对你的一切不好,都必须承受自己种下的因果。
68. The people who bully you will fall ill for you, the ones who oppress you will suffer disasters for you, and the ones who harm you will endure the suffering for you. Therefore, we should not waste our energy on others. All the bad things others do to you must be borne by the karmic consequences you have sown.
69. 一个人做恶时,他的心智就有了污垢。一个人不做恶时,他的内心就清净。清净与污垢完全在你自己,别人帮不上忙。
69. When a person commits evil, his mind becomes polluted. When a person does not commit evil, his inner self remains pure. Purity and pollution are entirely within yourself, and others cannot help.
70. 服务社会的人容易跟别人相处,乐于助人而且了解对方的需要,大方又有耐心地教导他人。这种大善人将来一定得到好报。
70. People who serve society are easy to get along with, always willing to help and understand others' needs, generous and patient in teaching others. Such kind-hearted individuals are sure to be rewarded in the future.
71. 不要轻信你自己的猜测,不要因为和你的意见相同而就加以相信,不要随便轻信权威。
71. Do not easily believe your own guesses, do not believe them just because they align with your opinions, and do not lightly believe in authority.
72. 一位好教师讲话应中肯而避免谈论不相干的事物。
72. A good teacher should speak sincerely and avoid discussing irrelevant matters.
73. 财富会毁灭愚笨的人,但不能毁灭想断除烦恼的人,当愚笨的人渴望财富时,他不但害了自己,同时也损了别人。
73. Wealth can destroy the foolish, but it cannot destroy those who wish to sever their troubles. When the foolish desire wealth, they not only harm themselves but also others.
74. 常思索苦恼的来源,善于约束自己的感官,饮食有节制,充满信心和干劲,就不会被邪魔所击败,宛如大山岩不会被风所动摇。
74. Constantly pondering the source of suffering, being skilled in controlling one's senses, practicing moderation in eating, filled with confidence and determination, one will not be defeated by evil spirits, just as a great mountain rock is not shaken by the wind.
75. 以不真实的事物为真实,以真实的事物为不真实,停留在不真实的思想中,永远无法达到真实的境界。
75. Treating the false as true and the true as false, and staying in the realm of falseness, one can never reach the realm of truth.
