Amid the vast sea of people, each one is a grain of dust. However, in this endless universe, dust also has its own light. When I am in困境, when I yearn for a rebirth, I understand—that self-redemption can never depend on others. Only by bravely stepping out of the mud, can one be reborn from the ashes.

1. Audrey Hepburn once said, "What matters more in life is the ability to recover oneself, revitalize oneself, rescue oneself, and redeem oneself; never depend on anyone else."

2. Life is a solitary river, and only oneself is the ferryman of life. How much we wish to find a依靠 for ourselves, only to discover later that on the mountain there are either wolves, beasts, tigers, and leopards, or wild grasses and thorny brambles; either cliffs and precipices, or venomous insects and ants. Only oneself is the most reliable mountain.

3. No one will help you for no reason, no one will suddenly have a kind heart to save you, and no one will support you without any conditions. There may be many people who add luster to your life, but when it comes to providing help in times of hardship, you probably can't rely on anyone. Therefore, everything must depend on yourself. You have to revitalize yourself, redeem yourself, and fulfill yourself.

4. Saw a very transparent statement:

5. "If you are not capable of living on your own in this world, then even if you get married and even if you pass the age of fifty, you will still be unable to attain happiness and joy."

6. Throughout this life, whether living with whom, it's actually living with oneself. On the surface, marriage seems to be about the interaction between two people, but fundamentally, it's still about one's own相处 with oneself.

7. Some people's marriages are very painful because they always view marriage as a matter of two individuals, holding too high expectations for their partner, hoping they can share more family responsibilities, reduce their social interactions, temper their personality, and create a warm family atmosphere. However, the reality often falls short of expectations, leading to increasingly intense conflicts, more frequent arguments, and a marriage that is in shambles, a far cry from harmony.

8. The essence of marriage is to live together in cooperation. How can two people who often spend time together not encounter some bumps in the road? As long as there are no fundamental issues with the other person, it is best to turn a blind eye to trivial matters. If one calculates and cares about everything, and always argues, it will only make the heart cold and the relationship fade, eventually leading to a split and a parting of ways.

9. The fundamental nature of relationships between people is ultimately one of interests. When you have value to others, they will flatter you, respect you, and be close to you. But when you have no value to others, even dogs wouldn't want to pay attention to you. The greatest folly of a person is to have unrealistic illusions and expectations about this kind of relationship. There are no permanent friends between people, nor are there permanent enemies; there is only permanent interest. If there are disagreements in interests, friends can turn into enemies; if there is an intersection of interests, enemies can also become friends.

10. When you feel that someone is trustworthy, it's the time when you can impart some value to them. If someone one day no longer needs your value, that person is definitely not trustworthy, no matter how gentle, kind, harmless, and cultivated they may appear.

11. The essence of life is a hundred years of loneliness. We come to this world alone and have to leave it alone as well. It seems that there are many relatives and friends around us, but in fact, it is truly difficult to find people who can resonate with us at the same frequency.

12. The joys and sorrows of humans are not shared; the world is full of suffering, and we navigate our own sorrows and joys. Don't expect anyone to like you, nor rely on anyone's strength. Strive to be self-reliant, work hard, and step by step elevate your own value. Strive to cultivate a positive and optimistic mindset, and strive to live the life you aspire to.

13. After carefully reading a classic masterpiece, you are likely to have many thoughts and feelings. Why not sit down and write a thoughtful review of it? So, how should we write a book review?

14. Last week, I watched "The Shawshank Redemption." The main character, Andy Dufresne, is a young banker who, after discovering his wife's affair, wanted to kill both his wife and her lover when he was drunk. However, he eventually gave up on the idea. Coincidentally, that night, his wife and the lover were gunned down. He was framed and accused of murder. However, a large amount of evidence forced him to face the prospect of spending the rest of his life in Shawshank Prison. Andy, with his background as a banker, quickly utilized his expertise in prison, helping guards evade taxes and assisting the warden in "laundering" the illegal income he received. Soon, Andy became the warden's personal assistant.

15. Not long after those days, a thief was imprisoned for theft, bringing hope to Andy's life. Andy knew the truth about the death of his wife and her lover, and the excited Andy sought out the prison warden, hoping the warden could help him prove his innocence. The cunning warden pretended to agree with Andy on the surface, but in secret, he used a scheme to kill the thief who told him the truth, wanting to keep Andy in prison to help him keep accounts. The warden's selfish thoughts shattered Andy's hopes, pushing him back into the abyss of despair.

16. After learning the truth, Andy decided to obtain freedom through his own redemption! Before taking action, he left a mysterious note for Red. Andy successfully "escaped" through hardship using a small hammer hidden in the Bible. He took away the money of the warden, who had no blemishes, and sent the evidence of the warden's corruption and murder to the newspaper. The warden, despairing after the incident, committed suicide. After Andy was granted parole, he found the gift Andy left for him and overcame the psychological crisis after parole, finding Andy. The two friends finally met, and the story thus came to an end.

17. **The theme of the entire story revolves around "hope." In the play, Andy tells Red that hope is the greatest good on earth. Perhaps love is more precious than life, and perhaps freedom is more precious than love, but what is more precious than freedom is only hope. To me, the hope in life is the belief that supports me on my journey, no matter what circumstances I face, hope is always more precious than anything else.**

18. On the evening of May 5th, after the renovation and upgrade of our cinema hall, **Salon** made a spectacular comeback with the film "The Shawshank Redemption." Perhaps it was due to the charm of Mr. Lao Tong and Mr. Sun Shigang, or perhaps it was the allure of "The Shawshank Redemption," which consistently ranked number one on various charts. The venue was filled to capacity!

19. At the beginning of the salon, Mr. Lao Tong shared a simple story with everyone, and then we embarked on a spiritual journey.

20. "The Shawshank Redemption" is undoubtedly a great movie. It has no action, no special effects, no beautiful people, yet it still deeply touches the audience and maintains its charm even after more than a decade. What attracts us to it?

21. Mr. Andy, with the help of a small hammer, redeemed himself, his hope, and his freedom over nearly 20 years. How small that hammer was! In those 20 years, he encountered so much darkness in society! He did not yield to the pressure of homosexuality; he did not fear the arbitrary destruction of human nature; he did not give up the hope of self-redemption due to institutionalized life! (Snowman essay) Risking his life just to let his comrades enjoy the beer that had not been touched for a long time on the rooftop! Risking danger just to let everyone hear the same thing from the loudspeaker every day can also hear such songs, in which there seem to be pigeons, the sea······ Persistently sending letters, he finally had a place in prison where people could read various types of books and listen to music! 20 years! Every day, on the playground, he shook some wall soil from his trousers! Everything he encountered in those 20 years did not stop his ultimate belief. This belief supported him through the long 20 years and finally obtained the redemption of hope.

22. This film also brought us many thoughts: Am I not a prisoner living in a prison, but am I a prisoner in some other form?

23. "The Shawshank Redemption" is a novella written by the American best-selling novelist Stephen King, which is composed of three short stories. Today, I finished reading the first story of the three: "Hope in Spring." Reading this novella deeply touched my heart.

24. The protagonist is Andy Dufresne, who was charged with the murder of his wife and her lover in 1948. This is the reading reflection of "The Shawshank Redemption — The Hope of Spring." He was imprisoned in Shawshank Prison. The people imprisoned there, after the passage of time, have become accustomed to a life without freedom. Even the birds inside have become like people, accustomed to living in a confined space without freedom and starving to death alone. However, from the moment he entered prison, Andy has always held onto hope. Although he had many uncertainties in his heart, he always led a life of negativity and tried to protect himself as a businessman who values his paintings! Holding onto hope, utilizing his intellect, and taking advantage of the greed of the people in the prison, he maintained a state of living in an unfree world while enjoying the freedoms of the outside world, always prepared! For twenty-seven years! Using a ten-inch rock hammer and countless posters, he successfully escaped from that society without freedom, and at the same time, changed the heart of his good friend. When his friend returned to a society with freedom, he treasured and adapted to a life of freedom.

25. After reading this novel, I realized: nothing can defeat the hope within a determined person's heart. Uncertainty is not important; what matters is that one must always hold onto hope. The consequences may lead to disappointment, but one must always have the hope of success. With the help of the surrounding environment and the use of one's own mind, hope can become a reality. The protagonist maintained hope for twenty-seven years in such an environment, and what can we not achieve living in a free world? This novel by Stephen King taught me that success requires holding onto hope, utilizing the knowledge one has learned, grasping the people and events around, and holding onto one's own firm beliefs.

26. In that era, Shawshank Prison was a hell, a purgatory on earth, where the guards were brutal, and the bullies ruled the roost. Life was wasted away in that endless imprisonment, also eroding the human spirit, as if only by completely giving up hope and becoming a zombie could one survive. However, Andy, serving a life sentence within the prison, did not agree with this. He seemed to be protected by an invisible shield, with hope forever burning in his heart. His arrival was like bringing light into this dark prison; he was filled with hope himself and also ignited the hope in those around him. Trapped in prison, yet still holding onto freedom tightly.

27. From a towering banker to a prisoner with absolutely no freedom, Andy experienced infidelity and betrayal in marriage, harboring resentment yet being unjustly imprisoned. For twenty years, he always believed that he would be able to live his way out. With a small hammer, he chiseled through the thick stone walls, crawling through the narrow and dirty sewage channels. When the heavy rain washed away the dirt on his body, all that was left was a liberated and free person.

28. I associate this with the current epidemic of viral infection. At this very moment, there are still many virus carriers at a critical juncture in their lives. To them, the epidemic is a prison named Shawshank, yet they remain hopeful. I have seen many medical staff and patients engaging in role-playing during their rest time, depicting the process of defeating the virus. In doing so, they encouraged themselves as well as brought joy and hope to others!

29. A century of life passes in a blink, and don't talk about the long and arduous journey. Life often hits you with setbacks,挫折, mistakes, and misfortunes without warning, teaching you pain, tears, and the inability to bear the fatigue. You may drag on your life by a thread, but you can never expect to have a peaceful life from then on. This is an inescapable fact for everyone. The only thing is to fill life with hope. As the movie "The Shawshank Redemption" says: In our hearts, there is a place that cannot be locked, and that place is called hope. No matter how deep in the depths of despair or in the midst of fiery trials you are, the hope you possess brings not only spiritual comfort but also the courage to live on!

30. Gao Xiaosong once said, "Throughout one's life, be pure and kind, and never let go of love and freedom." The novel intertwines the two words, love and freedom, which have different meanings, because with love in one's heart, there is hope, and he will seek self-redemption. And freedom is the realization of love and hope.

31. In the author's portrayal, Shawshank is a world filled with filth and dirt. This prison has a life that is isolated from the outside world, yet this isolation itself becomes a microcosm of American politics at the time. Andy, who has never committed a crime, is wrongfully imprisoned and becomes a convict, while the guards and the prison warden engage in a series of illegal activities such as tax evasion. The boundaries between good and evil thus become blurred.

32. Similarly, it is still a place that severely confines and causes one to lose oneself. The prison warden once said, "At first, when you enter prison, you hate the surrounding high walls. Slowly, you get used to living among them, and eventually you find that you have to rely on them to survive." When we see those who have been released from prison but cannot adapt to society and eventually commit suicide in their own homes, and the pigeon that was set free but ultimately starved to death in a corner of the prison, we all come to understand how important that sense of self and independence is.

33. Not easily defeated in the face of adversity, not easily lost in fault, self-encouraged, self-redemptive. With dreams in heart, one can summon hope.

34. Brief Thoughts: The people in prison are innocent. It is more of an affirmation of human hope and goodness than a joke or satire. The influence of the environment on people is subtle and profound, and most people in prison have become institutionalized.

35. As Red said, "When you first enter prison, you'll hate it. Then you get used to it, and eventually, you'll find that you can't live without it; you're already离不开 it."

36. What is hope? Every time I watch this classic film, "The Shawshank Redemption," it brings me a new insight. The first time I watched "The Shawshank Redemption," I was deeply impressed by the protagonist Andy's intelligence and perseverance in using more than a decade to dig a tunnel and successfully escape, in order to regain freedom and a new life! Crawling through a long, smelly tunnel as wide as several橄榄球fields, just to reach another world of freedom, different from the walled-in Shawshank Prison, but filled with hope and freedom.

37. "There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people's eyes." Each time we watch "The Shawshank Redemption," we can interpret the film's thought-provoking details from different perspectives. For a prisoner who has almost spent a lifetime in prison, hope is the re-acquisition of freedom. However, many prisoners, starting from the disappointment upon their initial imprisonment, gradually become numb and accustomed to the "iron cage" that confines them, and even eventually become heavily dependent on this desperate prison, which leads to disorientation and deep panic when they return to society. The elderly prison librarian Old Bob in the film is such a character; after being paroled, he is unable to integrate into society, is "institutionalized" by the prison and unable to extricate himself, and ultimately hangs himself. Similar to the psychological phenomenon known as "Stockholm syndrome," the victims develop emotional ties to the perpetrators, and those institutionalized develop an attachment to the system.

38. The reality is that we all have varying degrees of "Stockholm syndrome." We are not aware of the things that enslave our thoughts and souls, and instead, over time, we get accustomed to and depend on the very things that hinder our progress. To rediscover hope and regain freedom, we must maintain a cool head, clearly recognize the path beneath our feet, and not get lost in the endless fog of life.

39. Andy, who should never have been in prison, never gave up hope for freedom. Since he couldn't achieve physical freedom, he decided to fight for spiritual freedom first. Over the course of six consecutive years, Andy convinced the government to fund the construction of a prison library by writing two letters a week. His fellow inmates gained a greater mental space. "That's where the meaning lies. You need it, just like you shouldn't forget. Forget that there are places in the world not surrounded by stones, forget that your inner self has things of your own, things they can't touch."
