The peak potential of maturity: Showcasing its sharpness, absorbing all like a vast sea, and gradually carving through the stone with water droplets.

1. If stone is the bone of the mountain, then this water is the essence of the mountain. Thinking of its elegance as it leaps over the boulders, descending from high cliffs, with the deafening roar of the waterfall and the light, flowing sound of the stream echoing in my ears, it has caused me to stand still, sit up, and ponder deeply several times.

2. He hadn't yet mastered the violin, when his brother told him that studying medicine had a promising future and advised him to pursue it. He then changed his studies to medicine.

3. Subsequently, he dedicated 35 more years to the study of zoology, achieving outstanding results. Finally, in his later years, he gained fame in France and achieved his recognition and success.

4. In terms of personal conduct and social interaction, one must possess the cultivation of the Buddha's low-browed demeanor, as well as the means of the Vajra's fierce gaze. Only by coordinating the yin and yang, and using both methods simultaneously, can one overcome difficulties, break the deadlock, and emerge victorious.

5. By this expanse of clear water, I cup a handful in my palm, and the coolness and tranquility immediately penetrate to my heart, making my mind clear and serene. The thoughts also spread out like clouds after rain, rising and dispersing. I particularly appreciate this pleasing still water, its clarity seeing the bottom, not a speck of dust in sight, like a child's eyes, bringing joy to the heart. It was once silent and still, but upon closer inspection, it is the ripples caused by a gentle breeze—just right in its gentle undulations. If only there were a couple of green birds to add a touch, it would be perfect.

6. "It is better to be constant than to rise at midnight and sleep at dawn. The most futile thing is to expose oneself to the sun for ten days and to the cold for one day."

7. Water is colorful and resplendent, yet in its essence, it has no color. With the green mountains in its embrace, it becomes a home; with the setting sun in its arms, it turns red. And that autumn moon in the center of the river, it is as bright and pure as snow. He is good at learning and absorbing. Shouldn't one also learn advanced techniques from the "barbarians"?

8. He fell in love with music and made up his mind to become an outstanding violinist.

9. Tao Te Ching: "The river and sea become the king of all valleys because they are good at being humble, hence they become the king of all valleys."

10. Later, Lamarck met Rousseau, under whose influence he abandoned his habit of fickleness and immersed himself in the study of natural history.

11. Throughout its life, water has no fixed home, yet it feels at home everywhere. As long as it can reach, it is willing to go anywhere, whether it's the top of a cliff with boundless scenery, the winding valleys of the mountains, or the bottomless abysses that can never be seen again. When it completes a cycle in the world, the green mountains can still be there. People should learn to be content with whatever comes their way, and they should also take the time to travel and see different places.

12. To water, as to a wise elder, a kind gaze, a knowing smile, lets me understand an unending love; modesty and sincerity are your character.

13. Bowing your head to gaze upon the stone punctured by rain, people experience the saying that "dripping water wears away the stone." This contains a profound dialectic: quantitative change is the premise for qualitative change, and qualitative change is the inevitable result of quantitative change. Any thing is transformed through the gradual accumulation of quantity before it undergoes a qualitative change. If one were to turn a child still in diapers into an elderly man with white hair overnight, or a graceful young girl into an old woman with wrinkles in an instant, or a person with disabled eyes into a 100-meter sprinter in a blink of an eye, etc., it would be difficult for people to accept or believe. Therefore, anyone who wants to achieve success must start from the smallest details, advance step by step, and always remember the saying "dripping water wears away the stone."

Zeng Guofan said, "One who plans grand matters should first pay attention to the overall layout."

15. As the brook that I have become, I can never escape the endless torment from people. Sand, sewage, waste water. Worsening still, there are many passersby who give me many gifts — fruit peels, food containers, cola bottles. Can I still flow? My path ahead is blocked by endless obstacles.

19. Being by the seaside, you will see the deep color of the sea and its vast embrace. The rivers all flow eastward into the sea, and the sea is the true home of the rivers. You will feel your own smallness amidst the grandeur of the rivers, and you will soothe the wounds in your heart.

20. As long as one can win the hearts of all by virtue and inspire others with moral influence, one can overcome obstacles and accomplish one's endeavors.

22. Being here, I feel that all languages are redundant, as if nature should be like this inherently. I feel that at this moment, the water has bestowed upon me a good修养 and a good temperament — neither vague nor artificial, neither meticulous nor self-righteous... It can accommodate the bitter, sweet, sour, spicy flavors of this world, and the myriad beings of the universe. It represents a transcendent sentiment, and yet, we are precisely lacking this demeanor.

25. Silent, selfless, and uncomplaining dedication? No longer possible, as I have lost the ability that I once prided myself on. I should blame someone, but who? The ones I should scold are the very people for whom I have been willing to give everything—how absurd! Perhaps I have even lost the ability to scold.

26. Stones are hard and seem indestructible. However, what is the meaning of "water wearing away a stone"? This cannot help but inspire us: water can persistently strike day after day, year after year, and eventually dissolve a huge rock. As humans, as long as we possess the same tenacity and perseverance as water, all obstacles in our path are nothing to fear.

28. I have become a brook, no longer capable of maintaining my past majestic posture. But I do not yield, still flowing endlessly, still exerting whatever meager power I have to contribute to the existence of countless living beings.

29. I am the river, surging eastward with great momentum. If you look out, you cannot see the end of me. I am the source of life — the trees on the shore need me, the fish here depend on me, and as for people — they cannot do without me at any moment.

35. On land, the forest that protected me was cut down; in life, the polluted wastewater people discharged directly choked my throat; in production, industrial wastewater was mercilessly poured in, making me dizzy and disoriented. Thus, I suffer the merciless ravages of wind and sand, and endure the cruel corrosion of polluted wastewater. I am shrinking, no longer turbulent, no longer galloping, but can only flow slowly.

38. Water is incredibly selfless; wherever it goes, it bestows moisture upon the creatures around it. Without its selflessness, the green mountains would have long turned into the Yellow Mountains, and the lush green moss and grass on the cliffs, as well as all living beings, would have long since turned to dust and smoke. This is a form of boundless love. And in the human world, there is also a need for boundless love. In everyday life, people should benefit each other mutually, and when disasters strike, they should hold each other close, offering warmth to one another.

41. The flowing of the small stream and the rhythmic beat that it produces tell me to be confident about the future, for as the saying goes, "By the side of the sunken boat, thousands of sails pass by; in front of the sickly tree, ten thousand trees bloom in spring."

42. Gazing at the surging waves, people feel what true strength is. The churning seawater contains the majestic power of nature, and at the same time, it teaches people: one should strive hard, regardless of any difficulties or obstacles, as long as one puts forth one's full effort, there will be no regrets. Just as the surging waves dare to crash into the rocks by the seaside without hesitation.

50. The farmers have used me to irrigate their fields, and the foresters have no doubts about my ability to nurture branches. In terms of living and producing, I still can't be separated from the children who were once afraid of me, and now they even play and laugh beside me. Is this "turning adversity into fortune"? I think I should be content—I am still silent, selfless, and uncomplaining in my contributions.
