1. The twelve meridians of the human body are all connected to our limbs. When the internal organs, the five zang and six fu, are in operation, some internal heat is inevitably produced. Therefore, it is necessary to dissipate this internal heat through the movement of the limbs. When we exercise, we sweat, which is also a way to dissipate heat. If there is dampness, heat, or latent pathogens within the body, some of them can also be expelled along with the sweat, which can be said to achieve multiple benefits at once.

2. 03 Health, Start with Regulating Your Mindset

3. We always hope that others can do things according to our own ideas, that things can develop as we wish, that bad things can stay far away from us, and preferably never happen to us at all. This is simply a pipe dream; everything that happens is the result of various factors and causes and conditions coming together. The uncontrollable is the norm in life. Everyone has their own ideas, and every event has its own cause and effect. The effect of force is mutual; the more you resist, the more pressure you will have, and the greater the effect of force. True letting go should be an allowance. I particularly like Herrmann Hesse's poem "I Allow," which embodies a completely accepting and broad outlook on life. Here are two short segments from the poem:

4. Do not mind if you encounter people who do not like you or respect you. Proud and self-righteous individuals are inherently low-energy creatures. Engaging with them at their level will only bring dishonor upon yourself.

5. Read more, see more, and communicate more with outstanding people. Your height and perspective will naturally become higher.

6. The Duality of Things: Both people and things develop in contradictions. Every event has two sides, both good and bad. The result is completely different when viewed from different perspectives. What you see as good is a good thing, and what you see as bad is a bad thing. Moreover, there is no absolute good or bad, right or wrong in anything, all of which come from our evaluation standards. Anything that happens must be helpful to me. Use a positive outlook more often to view things, think more about the positive aspects, and things will develop in a good direction. Even bad things will have a good turning point.

7. We often hear the saying, "All diseases originate from Qi, and all illnesses stem from the heart." 8. 01

8. 01 Illness originates from the mind, and can be treated from the mind.

9. In this world, no matter how outstanding you are, there will always be someone who dislikes you. No matter how bad you may seem, there will always be someone who likes you. Don't live according to others' opinions and comments, and don't let others destroy your mood or disrupt your emotions.

10. In the past, I was often troubled by negative emotions, frequently controlled by them. The feeling of passivity and powerlessness was particularly torturous. I once thought that emotional management was a very difficult thing to do. At that time, I was very susceptible to the influence of people and things around me, paying attention to many trivial details, being sentimental and sad about the spring and autumn, and gradually, my body was also affected.

11. Life is not always perfect and smooth-sailing, it is always filled with imperfections and regrets. We need to learn to accept the imperfections of life, stay away from spiritual consumption, and remain undisturbed and natural in the face of everything that happens.

12. In traditional Chinese medicine, the heart is considered the "sovereign organ," from which all mental activities such as spirit, consciousness, and thought originate.

14. Mr. Shnelyanikov, a renowned Russian psychotherapist, when citing Ban Qua's "Six Conditions of Non-Treatment," put forth this viewpoint: There are no incurable diseases, only incurable patients.

15. Once vitality is ignited, people will enter into a virtuous cycle of recovery. Inner demand follows the great path, relying on health preservation to nourish both the mind and temperament comprehensively.

16. If there is a problem with the command system, the various organs of the body cannot function well. Therefore, the key to health preservation lies in nurturing the mind, and the focus of nurturing the mind is on purifying it.

19. I permit myself to have such thoughts. I allow, for every thought that arises, to let it be, to let it pass. Because I know that thoughts in themselves have no meaning, they are unrelated to me, they will come when they should and go when they should. If I feel that such thoughts should not arise, the only harm is to myself. The only thing I can do is to allow.

20. At home, you're a big shot, but out there, no one knows you and you're just an anonymous passerby. In the vast universe, we are but a speck of dust in the Milky Way galaxy. Knowing the vastness of the universe, why worry about the speck of dust in front of us? When you have a cosmic perspective, you will treat life more lightly. Reading books about the universe, cosmic science knowledge, or visiting an astronomy library can all help us establish our own cosmic view.

If I feel it could have been otherwise, the only harm would be to myself. The only thing I can do is to allow.

23. We all know that many diseases are caused by bad emotions, especially for women, where emotions are the number one killer of female diseases. Enduring for a moment can lead to ovarian cysts, and stepping back can result in breast hyperplasia. Women tend to get angry easily, either feeling depressed over trivial matters or losing their temper. When emotions are out of control, one can become frantic. This can affect one's health, life, emotions, and interpersonal relationships.

24. In so many aspects, if deeply explored, the most important should be the "nourishment of the heart and the adjustment of the mind." The cultivation of the heart and nature can be called the "way within the way" of the art of longevity. Adjusting the spirit should come before adjusting the body, as this can be seen from the names of the specialized sections of the longevity treatises throughout the ages. It is said that there was a text called "The Theory of Peng Zu's Longevity and Temperament Adjustment" during the Shang Dynasty, Wang Qiao's "The Classic of Nourishing Temperament" in the Han Dynasty, and Tao Hongjing's "Record of Nourishing Temperament and Prolonging Life" in the Liang Dynasty, all of which summarized longevity in terms of temperament adjustment. The main content of "temperament" refers to the psychological aspect, which is similar in connotation to the nourishment of the heart. Therefore, ancient people placed the nourishment of the heart in a prominent position in longevity, playing a leading role. The three treasures of life - essence, Qi, and spirit - among these, spirit is the most important, as it is the concentrated manifestation of essence and Qi. The ancients had a metaphor: "Spirit is the carriage, Qi is the horse." "The铭 of Nourishing Spirit and Qi" points out: "Spirit is the child of Qi, Qi is the mother of spirit, and the body is the dwelling place of spirit... If the spirit departs, the body decays." Spirit originates from Qi, is housed in the body, but still plays a dominant role over the body, form, essence, and Qi, being their value and symbol of existence. The relationship between essence and spirit is vividly compared in "The Method of Conserving Essence" to "Spirit is like fire, essence is oil." Essence can be understood as the material foundation of the human body, and the overall summary of this material life activity is "spirit," like the flame of a lamp. To achieve longevity and health, one must grasp the three treasures - preserving essence, accumulating Qi, and nourishing the spirit. To accumulate Qi with the spirit, to control essence with the spirit. Here, it is not inappropriate to cite two simple examples to illustrate the relationship between psychology and life in the practice of longevity. One is that a few years ago, an 80-year-old man in Boston, USA, died in a car accident. When the doctors autopsied the body, they unexpectedly found that the deceased's blood vessels were hardened, his heart was twice the size of a normal person, he had chronic nephritis, and the blood vessels in his liver had previously been blocked, but he had developed an alternative blood passage nearby. Every disease he had was fatal, yet he did not understand why he could still walk on the road. When asked about the deceased's wife, she said that he had always lived a good life and considered himself very healthy, often moving around. This was because the deceased had an optimistic spirit and a will to survive, which mobilized the body's reserve forces and lived peacefully. In fact, if a pessimistic and disappointed person is physically completely healthy, they will still suffer from many diseases and be unable to live. A scientist said: "Hope is the antidote to all diseases, and survival is the powerful weapon of the will to resist disease." Another example is a Hungarian scientist who, as a child, was diagnosed with diphtheria and was told by doctors that he would not live long. At the age of 24, he was weak due to malnutrition, and the doctors believed he could live at most another 6 months. However, due to his persistence in self-adjusting his mental and physical health, he lived to be 103 years old. The spiritual factor plays such an important role in human life activities that in the practice of longevity, adjusting and cultivating the spirit and the heart should be the leading aspect. This is particularly important for the elderly. Because the elderly have insufficient essence and Qi, they are prone to anger; their senses are not clear, and they are prone to suspicion; if their situation is not smooth, they are often depressed. Therefore, not only should attention be paid to aspects such as living habits, diet, and actions, but also to the main theme of calmness and tranquility, requiring the elimination of negative emotions. Wang Yijiu of the Yuan Dynasty said in "The Theory of Aging": "The way of longevity for the elderly is not to seek the unusual, but to first follow the advice of the sages, to wash away the worries in the heart, not to seek fame and fortune, not to be arbitrary in joy and anger... and not to have evil thoughts." In You Chen's collection "The Sayings of the Method of Healing the Heart," it is said: "When others are anxious, I am calm; when others are frightened, I am not angry; to be indifferent and do nothing, the spirit and Qi will naturally be filled, this is the elixir of longevity."

25. Raise the height. People who are not tall enough see problems in everything; from the first floor, they only see trivial things, while from the 20th floor, they see beautiful scenery. Knowledge determines one's height; the more history you see, the more you understand the sufferings of humanity and the brevity of life. The more documentaries you watch, the more you understand the true nature of the world and the truth behind things. The more you go out and experience the customs, habits, and cultures of different places, the fewer biases and narrow-mindedness you will have. The more you learn and communicate with outstanding people, the clearer you will understand your own position and the gap between you and excellence.

26. For example, some patients may suffer from the disease for a long time before diagnosis, but once diagnosed, they may pass away quickly. This is related to psychological factors.

27. Expand the space. Humans tend to overestimate their own importance, taking themselves too seriously. They always tend to exaggerate their own feelings, with their hearts and eyes filled with their own gains and losses, and their feelings. Therefore, their hearts are very narrow. We should go outdoors more often, immerse ourselves in nature. I usually prefer traveling to places like mountains, rivers, lakes, rugged mountains, deep forests, and vast grasslands, where the sense of space is particularly strong. The heart and eyes are filled with beautiful scenery, and there is no room for trivial troubles. When you are in nature, you will feel your own insignificance. You will not be obsessed with trivial matters in front of you. Your mind and outlook will gradually expand. When the heart becomes broader, the issues will naturally seem smaller.

28. It is difficult to treat physical illness without resolving the heart's illness. Confucian thought holds that to cultivate oneself, to manage the family, and to govern the state and bring peace to the world, the first thing one should do is to cultivate the mind and rectify it. After cultivating the mind, it is natural to cultivate the body, for a body cannot be cultivated well if the mind is not right. From this perspective, our spiritual care is actually for the sake of better health care.

29. Adjusting Cognition: In psychology, there is an "ABC theory," where A represents an objective event, B is one's own cognition, and C is the presented result. All objective events are neutral and do not possess true meaning. Our cognition is the root of emotions, and all things are attributed by our cognition. Most things that trigger negative emotions are actually just a break from your expectations, not developing in the direction you anticipated. In reality, these are just the ideas and notions you hold, which are merely products of self-conscious processing. Realizing that one's own subjectivity is the root of negative emotions is the key to completely freeing yourself from them. Emotions cannot change the current situation; they only make things worse. Therefore, we should shift our focus to solutions. Adjusting one's own cognition is the key to achieving different results.

30. For example: When we have a cut on our bodies and blood starts to flow, it doesn't keep bleeding indefinitely; the blood clots on its own. Why is that? It's because of our own self-healing ability. We don't need to tell the blood to clot faster or the wound to heal quicker.

31. Approach life with a positive and correct attitude, cultivate optimistic emotions, and manage your health well.

32. "You always say that your body is fragile, but you'll never know how hard your body works for you. Even for emotions that you may not pay attention to, your body will do everything it can to remind you that you are hurting yourself with your emotions."

33. In the human body, Qi and blood are a pair of yin and yang. Blood is yin and represents the physical body, while Qi is yang and represents the function. Blood is the mother of Qi, and Qi is the leader of blood. Deficiency of Qi can easily lead to diseases of stasis, such as tumors and thrombosis; excessive Qi can easily result in diseases like cerebral hemorrhage. Therefore, only when Qi and blood are balanced can a person be healthy.

34. Suffering is because you have too many desires, confusion is because you don't know what you want, anxiety is because you have no control over your own life, difficulty in making choices and being overly indecisive is because you want everything and can't make a distinction between them, negative people are all because of excessive self-awareness, being picky with others is because you are satisfied with yourself, and people who easily get angry and are愤 are essentially due to their own incompetence. By looking beyond the phenomena to the essence, and by looking at emotions to understand needs, many things in life are easy to understand, not as complex as they seem. The most important thing is that we should actively clear away the clouds and mists on our own.

35. Medications are all temporary solutions for treating symptoms, not the root cause of the disease, whether it's traditional Chinese medicine or Western medicine.

36. Health preservation starts with nurturing the heart, and the essence of nurturing the heart lies in cultivating a tranquil mind. The highest level of tranquility is a joyful heart. It is crucial to nurture virtue while nurturing the heart, for only with high virtue can one achieve mental concentration and calmness. The focus of nurturing the heart is on nurturing the spirit, which ultimately boils down to purifying one's soul. If your soul remains beautiful, then you possess the "elixir of immortality."

37. The body is a manifestation of the mind. If we attribute diseases to problems with the body, we treat only the symptoms, and we only ever solve the symptoms, without addressing the real causes behind them. Whether the disease comes and goes, or comes and stays, or goes and returns, it is merely a temporary solution to the problem.

38. A pure mind leads to a pure body. Health starts with regulating one's temperament.

39. In traditional Chinese medicine, "Qi" is both the fundamental substance of life activities and the guarantee of physical health.

40. Look at the essence: The effects brought by emotions and reason are actually the same. Don't think about how to control your emotions. You're holding back, repressing, and controlling them, but they have already happened and are still in your body. You will still feel the impact and harm brought by emotions. Emotions are not controlled down; rather, when you understand the essence of many things, you naturally have fewer negative and extreme emotions. If you have already developed emotions, never hold them in. You can cry out, confide in close friends, write a diary, sweat through exercise, go on a trip, or find a way that suits you to vent them.

41. Treating oneself well, nurturing emotions, and empowering health are the most core aspects of health preservation.

42. What is true happiness may vary in definition from person to person, but what can be determined is the liberation you feel after blocking out the negative emotions within yourself. If a person has a cognitive bias towards things, it is easy to lead to negative emotions. Once negative emotions arise, they will consume one's internal energy, and the degree of negative energy will directly affect a person's perception and happiness in life.

43. 05 Nurturing the heart involves cultivating virtue; a virtuous person has a tranquil spirit and stable energy.

44. Cherish those who are willing to walk with us and move forward together. Let those whose energy and frequency are different from ours go their own way.

45. The heavens are strong, the earth is solid, and the great virtues of heaven and earth bear all things. Nature encompasses countless species, forgiving human destruction. All things in heaven and earth are vast and tolerant, and we should also train our broadmindedness through the little and big things we do. For life, acceptance is the best outcome. "You包容万物, 万物也会包容你" is my mantra. Positive psychological suggestions also influence a person's attitude.

50. Life cannot rely on one's mood to live; it depends on one's mindset. Through my own adjustment and change, I have transitioned from once being easily startled and showing joy on my face to now being calm and composed, a visible change that can be said to have quietly changed a character, or to have given up emotions. The things that once troubled me will no longer be a burden to me. Many things today also find it hard to stir my emotional fluctuations, and even if I sense my emotions, I can quickly dissipate them within a minute. Work-related stress, setbacks in relationships, worries in life, others' opinions, misunderstandings, and biases, I choose to accept them all. If you cannot leave immediately, then step out of your emotions to look at the problem itself, express your emotions and needs correctly according to the situation, and empathize with yourself to understand your thoughts and feelings.

58. Mastering可控 factors: The "Festinger Rule" tells us that 10% of life is composed of the things that happen to you, while the other 90% is determined by how you react to what happens. In other words, 10% of the things in life are beyond our control, while the other 90% are within our control. We can completely determine these 90% through our attitude and behavior. Therefore, we should not focus on uncontrollable factors, but rather grasp the factors within our control. Don't let 5 minutes of unhappiness affect the mood for 23 hours and 55 minutes.
