在浩瀚的自律至高境界中,保持谦逊,避免自我膨胀与贬低他人,是我们永恒的追求。

In the boundless realm of self-discipline, to maintain humility, avoid self-inflation and belittling others, is our eternal pursuit.

1. 《百年孤独》写道:“这个世界上但凡有人群聚集的地方,所谈论的话题无外乎三个,拐弯抹角地炫耀自己,添油加醋地贬低别人,互相窥探地搬弄是非。”

1. "One Hundred Years of Solitude" states: "In this world, wherever there are gatherings of people, the topics of conversation are usually three: cunningly boasting about oneself, embellishing others to belittle them, and spreading rumors by snooping around."

2. 一个人只有提升自己的思想境界,增进修养,才能克服这三大劣根性。守住心,管住嘴,就是养好了生命中的上等风水。

4. 明朝成化年间,江南四大才子之首的唐伯虎进京参加会试。在考前的一次聚会上,他对着众多考生大放厥词,声称状元非自己莫属。这让大家面面相觑,第二天就有人到朝廷告发,说唐伯虎事先知道考题,有舞弊之嫌。朝廷当即把唐伯虎逮捕入狱,并严禁他科考入仕。

12. 吕蒙和陆逊相继做东吴的都督,关羽都不以为意,他把吕蒙视为没什么本事的病秧子,把陆逊看做呆头呆脑的书呆子。结果,关羽在和曹军作战的时候,被这两个他看不起的人算计,抄了他的后路,夺取荆州,关羽也被擒杀。

14. 歌德说:“我尊重每一个独立的灵魂,虽然有些我并不认同,但会尽可能地去理解。”每个灵魂都是值得尊重的,都有自己独特的光芒。不随意贬低别人,是一种涵养,一种境界。

17. 曾国藩组建湘军之时,帐下缺少文案师爷,这时一个叫鲍玉升的人前来应聘。鲍玉升原是湖南巡抚衙门的师爷,文笔隽秀,才情兼茂,是文案师爷的不二人选。曾国藩就和鲍玉升闲聊起来,得知他是因为和巡抚衙门另一名师爷左宗棠有矛盾,才离职来此,就向他询问起左宗棠的一些情况。

25. 第一,低调做人,是一种谦逊智慧的人生态度。它上善若水,善于处下,善于避让,善于调和,善利万物而不争,目标专一而不改;它海纳百川,有容乃大,取人之长,容人之短,见贤思齐,见不贤能自省,不断积累,充实自我;它知敬知畏,尊重自然,尊重生命,尊重他人,也尊重自己,以谦恭的态度对待一切,行事有度,懂得节制,知道谦让;它懂大局,会团结,能合作,虚心听取不同意见,热心为别人服务,是人们心中的公仆等等。

It is as good as water, adept at staying in the lower position, skilled in avoiding conflict, good at reconciliation, and benefits all things without contention, with a focused and unchanging goal; it embraces the vastness of rivers and seas, and is magnanimous, taking the strengths of others, tolerating their weaknesses, aspiring to be as virtuous as the virtuous, and being able to reflect on oneself when encountering the unvirtuous; it knows respect and awe, respecting nature, life, others, and oneself, treating everything with a humble attitude, acting with moderation, understanding self-restraint, and knowing when to yield; it understands the big picture, knows how to unite, can cooperate, is open to different opinions, is eager to serve others, and is regarded as a public servant in the hearts of people, etc.

26. 第二,高调做事,是一种积极有为的精神状态和责任担当。它如宇宙,周而复始,刚健运行,驰而不息,化育万物,从不间断,从不辍止;它如太阳,发光发热,热情燃烧,放射能量,驱散黑暗,照耀世界,积极奉献,不图回报,不谋私利;它像大地,托起山河,承载万物,孕育生命,坚强不屈,自强自立,气度恢宏,善于担当;它像一团火焰善于燃烧,它像一座高山善于挺立,它像一棵大树善于生长,它像一只雄鹰善于翱翔,它像一朵鲜花善于绽放,它像一把利剑善于披荆斩棘等等。

26. Secondly, doing things with high profile is a positive, proactive state of mind and a sense of responsibility. It is like the universe, which operates in cycles, vigorous and ever-moving, ceaselessly nurturing all things, without interruption, without cessation; it is like the sun, shining and radiating heat, burning with passion, releasing energy, dispelling darkness, illuminating the world, actively contributing without seeking returns, without pursuing personal gains; it is like the earth, supporting mountains and rivers, bearing all things, nurturing life, strong and unyielding, self-reliant, with a magnanimous demeanor and a readiness to take on responsibilities; it is like a flame that excels in burning, like a high mountain that excels in standing firm, like a large tree that excels in growing, like an eagle that excels in soaring, like a flower that excels in blooming, like a sharp sword that excels in clearing the way through thorny paths, and so on.

27. 具体来说,为人低调,不是自我贬低,也不是自暴自弃,自甘堕落,无所作为,而是能够正确认识自己,摆正位置,团结他人,善于忍耐,积蓄力量,强大自我,打好基础,增强能力;做事高调,也不是装腔作势,自我张扬,贪图虚荣,谋求名誉,而是发挥使命,敢于担当,能够尽责,服务大众,贡献社会,实现人生的价值和意义。

27. Specifically, being low-profile is not about self-deprecation, nor is it about giving up or descending into decay, doing nothing, but rather about correctly understanding oneself, finding the right position, uniting others, being good at endurance, accumulating strength, strengthening oneself, laying a solid foundation, and enhancing capabilities; being proactive in one's actions is not about putting on a show, self-aggrandizement, seeking superficial glory, or pursuing fame, but rather about fulfilling one's mission, being willing to take responsibility, being able to fulfill one's duties, serving the public, contributing to society, and realizing the value and significance of life.
