Therefore, we begin to cultivate our qi, our spirit, and our character, in the hope of finding a moment of tranquility amidst the hustle and bustle, allowing the flower of life to bloom under the nourishment of the years.
1. 人生痛苦的根源,是我们需要的不多,而想要的太多。
1. The root of life's pain lies in the fact that we don't need much, but we want too much.
2. 一辈子忙忙碌碌,辗转折腾,不过是欲望的奴隶,物质的囚徒。
2. A lifetime of busy-ness and turmoil is nothing but being a slave to desires and a prisoner of materialism.
3. 学会给生活做减法,卸去生命的负担,轻装前行,从容处世,活出想要的美好。
3. Learn to subtract from life, lighten the burden of life, move forward lightly, handle things with composure, and live out the beautiful life you desire.
4. 麻雀叽叽喳喳,吵吵嚷嚷,蹦哒不了多远。而雄鹰默默无言,振翅高飞,在天空留下靓丽的身影。
4. Sparrows chirp and chatter, noisy and restless, unable to fly far. Meanwhile, the eagle soars silently, leaving a resplendent figure in the sky.
5. 古话说:“水深而流缓,人贵而语迟。”
5. As an old saying goes: "The water is deep and flows slowly; a person of value speaks slowly."
6. 真正成熟、贵重的人,说话很少,却胸中有丘壑,举止有风度。

21. 一位读书人十年寒窗,屡试不中,心情失落到极点。一次,又逢大考,他叹息于前面屡次失利,又担心此次再度失败,不禁坐卧不宁,茶饭俱废。
21. A scholar had spent ten years studying diligently, but failed in his examinations repeatedly, which brought him down to the lowest point of despair. Once again, facing a major exam, he sighed at his previous failures and worried that he might fail again this time, which caused him to be restless, unable to sit or lie down, and even neglecting his meals and tea.
22. 他去拜访一位禅师,希望解除心中郁结。
22. He went to visit a Zen master in hopes of relieving the knots in his heart.
23. 禅师说:“虚极静笃,杂事不扰。”
The master said, "Extreme emptiness leads to profound tranquility; mundane affairs do not disturb."
24. 读书人不解,禅师继续开悟:“人心很小,你装满了杂思杂念,又怎能灯下闲读。”
24. The scholar was puzzled, so the Zen master continued to enlighten him: "The human heart is small, if you fill it with杂 thoughts and delusions, how can you leisurely read under the lamp?"
25. 人生如此,若我们一会担心这,一会恐惧那,始终思前想后,精神飘忽,怎能健康持久。
25. Life is like this. If we worry about this and fear that, always thinking ahead and being distracted, how can we maintain good health and longevity?
26. 晚清曾国藩,被称为中国最后半个圣人。

31. 去除私心杂念,疏解内心情绪,解除精神内耗,自然心灵安定,神清气爽,活得轻松自在。
31. Free yourself from personal desires and biases, alleviate inner emotions, and relieve mental exhaustion. In this way, your mind will naturally become tranquil, your spirit will be clear and refreshed, and you will live a carefree and relaxed life.
32. 孟子说:“养生莫善于寡欲。”

33. 欲望太多,人就会被欲望裹挟,迷失自己,最后误入歧途,万劫不复。
33. With too many desires, one can be overwhelmed by them, lose oneself, and ultimately end up on the wrong path, from which there is no return.
34. 叔本华说:“人就是一团欲望。当欲望得到满足的时候,就会陷入空虚。当欲望无法满足的时候,就会痛苦。”

46. 只有懂得收敛自己的欲望,以朴素的思想,过知足的日子,才能让快乐充盈心间,幸福常伴自己。

47. 一个人真正的成熟,是涤除生命中不必要的东西,过上物质极简,而精神极富的生活。

48. 寡言养气,与其滔滔不绝,不如沉默处世。守住口,就守住了人生的福气。

49. 寡虑养神,不要胡思乱想,不要杂念丛生。不多想,就减少了生命的内耗。

50. 寡欲养性,管理自己的欲望,删繁就简,洗尽铅华,找回生活朴素的样子。

56. 存平等心,行方便事,则天下无事。怀慈悲心,做慈悲事,则心中太平。
56. With an equal mind and doing convenient things, there will be no trouble in the world. With a compassionate heart and doing compassionate deeds, there will be peace within the heart.
57. 诽谤别人,就象含血喷人,先污染了自己的嘴巴。
