Health and soul are the two fundamental pillars of life. In this complex and intricate world, we are constantly seeking the essence of life. A healthy mind and a strong body are undoubtedly the solid foundations that support our journey through life. Let us join hands and move forward together, exploring the mysteries of these two fundamental pillars, and jointly create a beautiful life.
1. Mr. Yang Jiang once said:
2. "The two most important things in life are health. If life is a tree, health is the root of this tree. Only with deep roots can the leaves flourish. Without a healthy body, all wealth and honor are mere mist and clouds."
3. Secondly, it is the mindset. The success or failure, gains or losses in life, all lie between a thought. Different mindsets lead to vastly different life circumstances. Only by cultivating a serene and indifferent heart can life be clear and bright.
4. Indeed, such words are true! With health as the foundation and a positive mindset as the core, we can live out the most joyful, carefree, and beautiful version of ourselves in this colorful and diverse world.
5. If money is lost, it can be earned back; if a career fails, it can be tried again; if friends scatter, they can be found anew. But if health is lost, life will be entangled with myriad illnesses, and it will be impossible to recover.
6. Life is like a tree, health being the roots of this tree, and deep roots are necessary for lush leaves. Without the support of health, all efforts will be in vain.
7. Managing health is the most fundamental and most important thing.
8. Emphasize health, and you will always have the capital for a come-from-behind victory in life.
9. "There are no roads that cannot be traversed, only people who cannot think through. Flowers bloom and wither, clouds gather and disperse. After experiencing pain, one gains a sense of composure; after being foolish, one gains a bit of wisdom; after crying, one gains a sense of calmness; after laughing, one gains a sense of generosity. With a pure heart and compassion at heart, once you have walked through, it is over. By broadening your vision, your path in life becomes wider."

11. We may not be able to control fate, but we can control our attitude towards it. Regarding everything that happens in life, see through it, let it go, see through it again, and believe that everything is the best arrangement.
12. Not afraid of the harshness of destiny, not caring about anyone's gaze and evaluation, not bothering with the nastiness of others. With a heart unburdened by worry, life is not tiring. If your heart faces the sun, there is no need for sorrow.
13. Life is a solitary river each day, and only oneself is the ferryman of one's own life.
14. Do not exhaust yourself in someone else's world, nor let yourself be spiritually drained in your own. Ignore the世俗 prejudices and others' attitudes. All you need to do is take care of yourself and live your life well.

45. Elderly people cultivate their moral character: To maintain health, one must first nurture the mind. 46. The focus of some is on the origin of grievances, while others analyze the harm they cause, and still others counsel people to eliminate and discard grievances. Regardless of the perspective, the ancient people's understanding of grievances and resentment was very profound.
47. In the chapter "Mozi's Conception of Benevolence," it is pointed out: All the calamities, usurpations, and grievances in the world arise from the lack of mutual love. In Mozi's view, whether it is calamity or grievances, the cause lies in the absence of benevolent feelings. If people could trust and understand each other, live in peace and harmony, and unite in friendship, could there still be grievances? There would certainly be no grievances to speak of.
48. Confucius also mentioned the issue of resentment multiple times in the book "The Analects". For example, in "The Analects: Yan Hui", he said: "Do not impose on others what you do not wish for yourself. In the state, there is no resentment; in the home, there is no resentment. As long as one can refrain from blaming heaven and blaming others, and not impose on others what one dislikes, and everywhere practice benevolence and love, and consider others' interests and feelings in all matters, there will be no resentment whether in society or at home."
49. Hatred and resentment are common psychological disorder states among the elderly. They are the source of various diseases and the seeds of不良 behavior; they cannot be ignored or treated lightly.
50. In the "Suwen of the Yellow Emperor's Internal Classic," it is said that all diseases originate from Qi (vital energy). Where does Qi come from? It goes on to point out: when one harbors resentment, Qi rises. As resentment rises, it can harm the heart and disturb the mind, leading to damage of the five internal organs and six bowels, disorder of the circulatory system, decreased immune ability, and the onset of various diseases. Even more terrifying is that resentment can cause a person to lose their reason, and in a fit of anger, they might act in ways that are incoherent and unimaginable, resulting in unnecessary regrets and losses. Therefore, resentment and grudges should not be overlooked; they must be prevented and controlled.
51. As people grow older, most of them pay great attention to health preservation, which is undoubtedly something to be celebrated. However, how to preserve health and how well it is preserved is a topic worth discussing. Nowadays, there are a variety of health preservation methods, ranging from all sorts of health products to superstitious secret remedies, from relying on delicacies for tonifying the body to seeking medical advice and prescription medicine from all over the place. But it is not advisable to adopt such methods that are excessively mentally and physically demanding and also costly.
52. So, where is the right path? The Qing Dynasty calligrapher Deng Shilu said it well: "Forgiving others while not being offensive, being cautious to avoid illness, enjoying a light drink to alleviate worry, reducing thoughts to avoid dreams, planting flowers to elevate one's taste, burning incense to purify the surroundings; quiet sitting to replenish fatigue, solitary sleep to replenish weakness, moderate consumption to alleviate poverty, doing good to compensate for one's mistakes, calming anger to replenish one's qi, and few words to alleviate烦恼. 'Yet' refers to excluding and distancing oneself, while 'replenishing' means increasing and adding. To replenish what needs replenishing and to exclude what needs excluding, and to do so with the correct methods, and then to combine them with each other, this is the right path. Of course, what Deng Shilu spoke of were all aspects of spiritual cultivation. In a certain sense, spirit is far more important than matter.
53. The dictionary defines the character "疑" as uncertainty about the truth or suspicion arising from disbelief. Suspected illness, also known as hypochondria, is a negative psychological reaction and is a common undesirable mindset in depression and anxiety disorders. If this condition is not cured, it often leads to very serious consequences. The most typical example is from Ying Shao of the Han Dynasty, who recounted a strange incident in his book "Tong Yi Feng Su" (The Communication of Customs and Mores): When Ying Shao was serving as the county magistrate, he invited his subordinate Du Xuan to a dinner party at his home. There was a red bow hanging on the wall of the banquet hall. Due to the refraction of light, the shadow of the bow in the wine cups looked like a snake wriggling. Du Xuan was both surprised and scared, but as it was his superior's invitation, he couldn't afford to lose face, so he forced himself to drink the cup of wine. After Du Xuan returned home, he suddenly felt an abnormal pain in his abdomen, as if a snake was twisting inside. Despite trying various medications, there was no improvement. In a short period of time, he became a person on the brink of death.
54. Just at that moment, Ying Chen came to Du Xuan's house for some matters. Seeing him very ill, Ying Chen asked for the reason. After Du Xuan recounted the whole story, Ying Chen was utterly puzzled. When he returned to the hall where they had been drinking that day, he saw the bow hanging on the wall and immediately it clicked in his mind. He sent someone to bring Du Xuan over, had him sit in his original place, poured a glass of wine, and then pointed to the snake in the cup and said to Du Xuan, "Look, isn't the snake you mentioned just the reflection of the bow hanging on the wall? How could there be a real snake in the wine cup!" After Du Xuan understood the truth, his mood immediately lightened up, and his illness soon healed.
55. Therefore, hypochondria is a deadly disease. Although some elderly people's suspicion may not be as typical, there are still many suspicious situations: slight discomfort in a part of the body leads to suspicion of having a malignant disease; occasionally finding a minor problem makes them believe they are incurable; and after a long period of illness, they become full of doubts. From doubts to fear, and eventually losing confidence in survival, leading to unnecessary tragedies.
56. Doubtfulness is self-righteousness; it is more about believing the opposite of what is factual rather than not believing the facts, and it is a genuine negative psychology. Confucius said: "The wise are not perplexed, the benevolent are not anxious, and the brave are not afraid." To overcome the problem of doubtfulness, one must have firm beliefs and willpower, respect science, and respect facts, and not act arbitrarily. Moreover, from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, those who are overly suspicious often have insufficient heart energy and unsmooth Qi flow. In necessary cases, medication or massage can be used to unblock their Qi and blood.
