Explore the highest philosophy of life: the unity of heaven and man, adhering to the way of nature – opening the door to the wisdom of life.
1. Perhaps our lives are not easy, and perhaps we have encountered all sorts of low points and hardships. But think from another perspective, you are still able to live well now, while for many people, simply being alive has become a luxury. You still have food and drink to enjoy, while many others are still suffering from hunger. You still have a healthy body, while many are struggling in the clutches of illness, yearning for life and death.
2. The world is just an objective existence, it will always be this way, it will always be unfair, it will always present various problems, and there will always be some people living in luxury while others will toil like beasts of burden. No one can change this; it is the way of the heavens, an objective law.
3. Live a life of contentment and ease with a mindset of embracing whatever fate brings. Accept whatever destiny gives you. If fate makes you an ordinary person, live a down-to-earth life and simply enjoy your life to the fullest.
4. During the Spring and Autumn period, Laozi gathered the great wisdom of ancient sages and worthies. He summarized the essence of the ancient Taoist thought, forming a complete and systematic theory of Taoism, marking that the Taoist thought had officially taken shape. It has had a profound influence on Chinese philosophy, literature, science and technology, art, music, health preservation, religion, and so on.
5. If one can avoid intense joy, naturally there will be no sorrow approaching; life without a goal is the best life; the core of Confucianism is about "people," while the core of Taoism is about "heaven."
6. Too much complaint can lead to intestinal damage, and one should keep a broad perspective on the scenery and things.
7. Learn to reconcile with your destiny and don't fantasize about changing anything. At its core, life is ultimately empty. Whether you change something or not, contribute something or not, give something or not, the outcome is the same, and the significance is not great. It's like ants digging a few more holes or mosquitoes flying to a few more places; is it meaningful?
8. The highest form of living is the unity of heaven and man, the law of the Tao following nature. Allow yourself to live naturally between heaven and earth, like the flowers, grass, and trees in nature, uncontentious with the world, undisturbing to others, not angry or resentful, neither polluted nor pure, neither sorrowful nor joyful, without any heart or mind, without any shame or dishonor, as carefree as you please, as comfortable as you wish.
9. 复旦大学王德峰教授说:“无法平静的心智,等于没有心智;凡事不想赢的人,都是聪明人;
9. Professor Wang Defeng of Fudan University said: "An unquiet mind is akin to having no mind; anyone who does not want to win at all is a wise person."
10. Do not resent this world; treat everything in life with a peaceful heart, and only then can we live with ease and release.
11. Complaining is like a venomous snake that dwells deep within your heart, constantly biting at you, causing you pain, unease, and a feeling of despair.
12. The best way to live is not to be flamboyant, with great ups and downs, but to live like plants and trees, quietly growing in this world, sprouting in spring, growing in summer, harvesting in autumn, and storing in winter. Do as it should be done. When the time comes, leave this world quietly, without a sound, without any display.
13. Hatred only tortures oneself, lowers the quality of one's life, and will not have any positive effect.
14. Ordinary and common, hidden and elusive, unknown to anyone,默默无闻. No one打扰 oneself, nor do they wish to disturb anyone else.
15. In a lifetime, the world passes like a season for the trees and plants.
16. But the true life requires the unity of "Heaven and Man." The best state of life is: to do worldly things with an attitude of transcendence; to pursue passionate dreams with a tranquil heart.
17. Joseph Needham said, "Many of the most attractive factors in the Chinese character come from Taoist thought. China would be like a big tree with rotten roots if it did not have Taoist thought." "Taoist thought is the root of China's science and technology."
18. Man follows the Earth, the Earth follows the Heavens, the Heavens follow the Tao, and the Tao follows the Way of Nature. We should not burden ourselves with too much sense of mission or excessive sense of responsibility, and we should not put too much pressure on life. We should live in accordance with the way of the Tao, pursue a state of unity between heaven and man, and thus we can live freely and effortlessly, without any constraints.
19. Taoism takes the "Tao" as its core, believing in the passive nature of the great Tao, advocates for following the laws of nature, and proposes political, economic, and governance strategies such as the origin of law from Tao, maintaining the passive to govern the active, and the combination of the rigid and the soft, embodying a simple dialectical philosophy.
20. Don't stubbornly fight against your destiny. Some people are talented but have a difficult life, while others are ignorant and impulsive yet hold high positions. Some have exceptional abilities but can only live in subjugation, while some are extremely ordinary yet occupy high positions. Destiny is just so unfair, but what can we do about it? We can strive hard, but effort is just one factor in changing one's destiny, not the whole factor, nor the main factor.
21. We once believed that hard work could change our destiny, but after a lifetime of struggles and setbacks, we discovered that fate is stronger than we ever imagined. No matter how hard we try, we feel helpless, and no matter how much we strive, in the end, we are still just ordinary people immersed in the mundane concerns of daily life.
