Seek the path of life, ponder it with caution once more. In this vast universe, life is like stars, shimmering with endless mysteries. Let us embark on this journey together to explore the light of wisdom hidden deep within the essence of life.

1. In the concept of traditional Chinese medicine, there is not only "food accumulation," but also "fluid retention." This "fluid retention" is a specific manifestation of the dampness and pathogenic dampness that you hate. It is caused by the body's inability to transform fluid, resulting in pathological retention within the body, which is what is referred to as "water stagnation turns into fluid retention, and fluid condenses into phlegm."

2. Silence is gold; speaking less is the best way to cultivate oneself.

3. In通俗 terms, both red bean and Job's tears tend to have a downward trend. Although it is possible to expel the retained dampness in the body through diuretic methods, it will also disturb the precious Yin fluid in the body, which is prone to being lost unnecessarily.

4. There is no method for removing dampness that can work instantly, permanently, and universally for everyone. Cultivating the correct mindset and developing good habits is actually far superior to trying out a bunch of methods one after another in hand.

5. The popular method for removing dampness now, in addition to the red bean and mung bean water, many people may rely on exercise and steaming to induce sweating. Some even go to extremes to use methods such as fire therapy and督脉灸 to stimulate sweating, seemingly for both dampness removal and detoxification.

6. The emperor has three palaces, six yards, and seventy-two concubines, not to mention countless palace girls. As they say, being amidst the flower crowd, they can indulge in their pleasures as they wish. After they satisfy themselves, their lifespan will also come to an end.

7. Fat: It means rich, greasy, and delicious, not only referring to the conventional meat, internal organs, and animal heads and hooves, but also including: ① Fried and grilled foods, not limited to oil sticks, fried cakes, fried chicken, skewers, etc.; ② Foods with high fat content, such as various nuts; ③ Foods with a high content of animal protein, such as ejiao (donkey hide gelatin), luojiao (deer hide gelatin), sea cucumber, abalone, fish maw, tendons, etc.

8. The Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon clearly states that the water drunk into the stomach is like food, and it also requires the coordination of the internal organs and the consumption of vital essence to complete the entire process of digestion, transformation, absorption, and excretion. It does not mean that the water drunk can directly replenish the body's water.

9. The next point to mention is the concept of "not being reckless," which aims to remind everyone that the matter of removing dampness varies from person to person, with different constitutions and different methods of dampness removal.

10. Therefore, no matter how highly praised or how seemingly harmless red bean and mung bean water may appear, if it is not consumed according to the principles of "suitable," "moderate," and "in moderation," it may become a source of trouble for your body.

11. According to the view of traditional Chinese medicine, sweat is not merely a simple liquid metabolic product consisting of water, sodium chloride, urea, lactic acid, fatty acids, etc. The various discomforts that occur after excessive sweating and removing dampness are actually the result of over-excision, ultimately leading to damage to vital essence and consumption of qi.

12. In ancient society, "Seventy years is the limit of human life," and 70 years was already considered a long life.

13. A person cannot control their lower body and is always tempted to stimulate their nerves through the pleasure of sexual love. Overconsumption of kidney essence leads to a deficiency of yang energy, causing the body to remain weak continuously. Various microorganisms and viruses take advantage of the weakness to attack and destroy your health.

14. Moreover, if one's spleen and stomach are inherently weak and cold, or one has a constitution inclined to cold and dampness, using millet alone, or drinking red bean and millet water alone, this "mildly draining dampness" downward effect is extremely prone to injure the spleen's Yang energy, affecting the normal metabolism of nutrients, and it will also impact the body's process of eliminating dampness, leading to the accumulation of dampness within the body becoming even more unrestrained.

15. Take the water made from red beans and Job's tears as an example, which we have mentioned before, people with a body constitution that is prone to damp-heat can use it in moderation. For those with cold-dampness but a robust constitution and no deficiency of yin or blood, it is necessary to add a small amount of dried ginger to balance the coldness while warming and invigorating the Yang of the spleen and stomach. However, it is still not recommended for long-term use, as it will eventually consume the Yin fluid.

16. My proposition, the three major principles of "keep your mouth shut," "do not behave recklessly," and "move appropriately," are the reliable methods for strengthening the spleen, removing dampness, and expelling phlegm, which are suitable for people of all ages, both men and women. Don't believe me? Just take a look:

17. Health not only concerns the quality of one's life but also concerns life itself. The greatest blessing for a person is not to achieve fame and fortune, to accumulate a vast fortune, or to gain recognition from the masses, but to live a healthy and robust life.

18. "Do not act recklessly" is a point that is very worthy of emphasis. This not only refers to those bad habits in daily life that add moisture to the body, but also to the need to be extremely cautious in dealing with dampness.

19. If pregnant women consume Job's tears, it may even trigger preterm labor. Even though it is now advocated to stir-fry Job's tears to reduce its coolness, it is still impossible to eliminate the nature of Job's tears that easily consumes body fluids.

20. In our youth, we believe that health is the foundation of all the good things, but we often ignore this foundation. As we grow older, our bodies begin to show symptoms, and we realize that health is everything in life. As long as we have a healthy body and mind, all the good things are within us. However, if we lose our health, life will tremble with unease under the shadow of death and the torment of illness.

21. Those who have done the work of removing dampness probably know that the root cause and main contradiction of internal dampness and difficult-to-disperse phlegm-dampness lie in the spleen and stomach. When the transformation process encounters problems, the substances that should be eliminated cannot be expelled, and as a result, it becomes difficult to resist external pathogenic factors, and internal disturbances proliferate.

22. This is not only about protecting the spleen and stomach, and nurturing this primary system for transforming and transporting dampness, but also about trying to avoid the evil of phlegm and dampness from entering through the mouth.

23. With moderation in one's heart and self-control in eating, one can satisfy hunger, quench thirst, and enjoy deliciousness, while allowing the body and mind to be nourished by food rather than being harmed by the food itself and bad habits.

24. Confucius' student Zigong once asked him, "Why don't you speak?" Confucius replied, "What does heaven say? The four seasons proceed, and all things come into being. What does heaven say?"

25. First, let's talk about the bad habits in life that add "humidity" to the body, including but not limited to:

26. In life, we often have such a feeling: if we talk too much, we will feel chest tightness, shortness of breath, dry mouth and throat, and weak body.

27. An article published in the world's authoritative medical journal, The Lancet, states that a person's health condition is determined by 20% genetics, another 60% is mainly determined by dietary structure, and other factors only account for 20%.

28. Cold: First, it refers to food with an entry temperature lower than body temperature, such as ice-cold watermelons, cold beer, and food just taken out of the refrigerator; second, it refers to things with a cold and cool nature, such as pitaya, kiwi, strawberries, pears, cherry tomatoes, and various melons, etc.

29. Firstly, engaging in appropriate exercise that promotes moderate sweating can indeed help to remove dampness from the body and invigorate the Yang energy, as well as strengthen the spleen and stomach. For those who lack exercise, often sit for long periods, and prefer staying indoors, this is much more effective than relying on eating and drinking to remove dampness.

30. Many traditional Chinese medical texts suggest that red bean can promote diuresis and reduce swelling, and it has a good effect on various diseases caused by internal retention of dampness. For example, Li Shizhen believed that it "promotes the flow of body fluids and facilitates urination." In other words, if the body's fluids are not flowing smoothly or if there is a accumulation of "bad water," as long as it falls within the scope of red bean's efficacy, it can return to normal through the pathways of urination and diuresis.

31. However, many materials that are widely shared and copied by certain self-media platforms are overly enthusiastic about promoting the removal of dampness, elimination of dampness, and detoxification. It seems that this matter is as simple and粗暴 as draining water from a pond, lacking any method or system. They only focus on the "benefits," but never mention the existing "dangers" and "forbidden situations."

32. Regarding the simple practice methods for invigorating the spleen and stomach, and promoting the smooth flow of Qi and blood, I would like to introduce the simplest one, which combines both tonifying and unblocking the middle-jiao – the Abdominal Rubbing exercise.
