Seek tranquility to reach the distant, walk independently, live with heart, and spend days in ease. In this complex and chaotic world, I wish to explore the essence of life with a tranquil heart.

1. Yu Hua wrote in "To Live": "I once thought old age was a distant affair, but suddenly realized that youth has already been a long time ago."

2. Time flies so quickly, and when I look up, half of my life has already passed. The so-called middle-aged crisis does not truly cause anxiety due to loneliness, poverty, or even aging.

3. But it is only when you reach middle age that you realize you have never lived according to your own preferences. This world of firecrackers and human life, every moment is worth it, yet every moment also holds regrets.

4. Time flies like a white horse through the gap, and in a blink of an eye, half of our lives have passed. On the journey of life, we are all constantly moving forward. In everyone's heart, there are always some things that are hard to forget, and those people are also impossible to forget.

5. Unconsciously, half of my life has passed. My appearance is no longer youthful, my hair is starting to turn white, wrinkles have appeared at the corners of my eyes, and my memory is beginning to fade. Suddenly, I realized that there are many things that I will never have the chance to do, some people I haven't seen for a long time, time flies so fast, life is too short!

6. Suddenly, I find that I am less and less fond of the hustle and bustle, and I am not as keen on socializing as before. I only enjoy staying alone in quiet solitude, or spending time with my family, watching TV. I no longer frequent the places where lights are bright and wine flows, and I have let go of friends who indulge in eating, drinking, and entertainment. The playful spirit within me has vanished, and I find myself returning home more often.

7. The deeper the tranquility of the mind, the greater the blessings. The mind is inherently unsoiled, and tranquility naturally brings clarity. With a single thought, the wind rises and clouds gather; with a single thought extinguished, the flowers bloom like a tapestry. When the mind is troubled, things become chaotic; when the mind is at peace, all is at ease.

8. In this life, what one experiences is essentially a journey of cultivating the mind. A positive mindset leads to a happy life, while a negative mindset is doomed to confront distress throughout one's life. Everyone will encounter various degrees of烦恼 (troubles or worries) every day. How to resolve these troubles depends on our wisdom and mindset.

9. A truly strong person is not defined by what they can possess, but by what they can let go of. The ability to let go is the greatest test of a person. In life, one must be able to win as well as lose; to hold on as well as let go, which is the true essence of being able to live. The truly formidable people are not those who appear dominant on the outside, but those who have a soft inner heart. They can adjust their own state at any time to cope with various environments.

10. In this life, there are ups and downs, and no one has a smooth sailing journey. Therefore, whenever we encounter things that confuse or irritate us, it is a test of our own life, to see if we can withstand such trials. Often, it is after experiencing some setbacks that people quietly change their character.

11. Many people are impulsive and impatient in their youth, fond of showing off their sharpness, proud, and thinking themselves superior to others. Gradually, as the years accumulate, their sharp edges are worn down, they no longer confront others head-on, they are no longer sarcastic, no longer meticulous, but instead, they have learned to be tolerant and patient. They understand the art of turning big matters into small ones and small matters into nothing, valuing a certain kind of confusion as precious.

12. Inner peace is the calmness and tranquility that comes with the sedimentation of time, and it is also the posture a person assumes after conquering life. The quieter the mind, the purer and more serene the soul becomes, and the more secure and comfortable one lives. The liberation of life is not elsewhere but within one's own heart. Troubles are a daily occurrence; if you don't pick them up, they naturally disappear. Life's right and wrongs, if you ignore and do not argue, are wisdom. Those who have great realization and insight are not those who argue for every matter, but those who know how to clear their minds in a timely manner.

13. Life is your own. Guard your own mouth, protect your own heart, and do what you want to do.

14. Life is your own, not much to do with others, so you need not care about what others think, see, or say. Walk your own path, do your own things, see your own scenery, and live the way you want to be.

15. Even if others live a better life, it is still their own life and has nothing to do with you. There is no need to envy or compare, living in someone else's world will only bring you trouble and has no other significance.

16. Mr. Yang Jiang said: "Don't envy anyone's life. In fact, every pot has its bottom covered with soot. Life is not about this or that; it's not that others are always in the spotlight, but rather that they haven't shown others the mess they have. So, just go with the flow!"

17. Happiness does not have a standard answer, and joy does not have only one path. The days you like are the best days, and the way of life you like is the best way of life. Do not ignore the appreciation of the present, take the most solid step in the present, and there will be vast skies ahead. Make your days happier and more comfortable, and you have won!

18. People's Daily: "In life, there is no such thing as happiness or unhappiness, only contentment or discontent. Being free from worries about food and clothing is a blessing, and being free from illness and disaster is a boon. As for the rest, if it brings joy, it is like adding flowers to a brocade; if not, it remains as it is, full of grace."

19. "It is pleasant to read poetry and books while lying on a pillow, and the scenery in front of the door is even more beautiful when it rains." This is a wonderful poetic scene: a day, a poem, a scene, a touch of embellishment, as if every corner of life is a piece of literature. Poetry and books moisten the heart, leaving a deep and enduring impression. No matter how long one is immersed in seeking knowledge and cultural nourishment, as long as one starts to integrate such a scene into a part of life, it is enough to be content. If one doesn't read poetry and verses every day, life becomes monotonous; if one doesn't read articles for several days, time is wasted; but if one seeks knowledge with an insatiable thirst, immerses oneself in it, and gradually accumulates a self-sufficient and joyful "poetic life," why wouldn't it be enviable!

20. It is regrettable that I woke up too late to realize this, not knowing the value of diligent study in my youth, and only regretting the delay in reading books when I am old. Now, having started to learn with a few groups, I realize how limited my knowledge is, and I am even more ashamed of the few books I have read. How could so much time be wasted on futile socializing and aimless days? On the other hand, I am secretly relieved that I have not been completely confused. To cherish the present, to have such a good learning circle, to live and learn until old age, to listen to lectures and read books is such a correct choice! "Reading history makes one wise, and reading poetry makes one elegant," but deep down, I am still a rough person. Without the experience or further education in a university, I have only studied some practical subjects in a haphazard manner, coming and going, hot and cold. In fact, the inner driving force for learning is too weak, and even learning some superficial knowledge is for the sake of showing off, just to decorate the empty shell of my mind. It is far from the goal of real talent and knowledge, and it is far from satisfactory. Therefore, I still have no confidence to say that I am passionate or dedicated to learning. A scholarly demeanor is even more distant. Because I know that my "learning" is always like a clumsy performer's tricks or like practicing martial arts but only learning a little bit of three-legged cat skills, neither beautiful nor useful, with enough of a show-off and敷衍成分. Just like the thick collection of Tang and Song poems and Han fu that I bought, which has always been sealed on the lonely bookshelf, rarely touched, just a facade to show that I am not an ignorant person trying to imitate elegance. The key is that my heart has never been still and seriously entered the beautiful world of poetry and literature, which is like looking up at the mountains and clouds or admiring the elegance of spring snow, far beyond my level of literary accomplishment.

21. Learn and you will know your deficiencies. As one becomes more and more transparent and enlightened with age, one will also become increasingly certain of what we often say: The primary joy is physical joy, which is the satisfaction of material desires. The intermediate joy is spiritual joy, which is poetry, songs, calligraphy, painting, traveling around the world. Of course, the highest joy is the joy of the soul, which has noble beliefs and is dedicated to giving, allowing others to be happy due to one's own existence, reaching the highest and most virtuous level. So, whenever we have time, we should read books to understand the way and principles, purify our sentiments, feel joy and peace of mind, or even influence and motivate others. Can this be listed as a cultivation of talent, wisdom, spirit, and soul? Perhaps at first, reading those classical texts or ancient poems may feel dull, and perhaps a shallow taste will be enough to endure, like a strong liquor that is hard to swallow, but if one can sink into it, endure the patience, ponder and refine, it is like a cup of clear tea that refreshes the mouth, once the sweetness returns, the cheeks and teeth leave a fragrance, the aftertaste is endless, and it is beyond description. I have been spending about ten to twenty minutes each day recently, reading excellent ancient texts, and my experience would like to say: Only the scent of books can travel far, the realm of poetry and songs contains the world, let the scent of books浸润 your soul, and then there is a mood of days becoming poetry, life becoming fascinated, and time becoming slightly drunk.

22. Thus, after reading a bit of poetry and calligraphy, I can show off my literary prowess to ignite the "inspiration" for making up things out of thin air.

23. For example, during Halloween, I saw photos from Melissa in California and wrote a casual entry:

24. Camouflage pumpkin lanterns in front of the house, the homeowner calls out to offer a feast, inviting companions to seek candies, strange costumes lead to a joyful display!

25. Smooth sailing, walking to the tune of music! In the most beautiful scenery of the journey, both the morning glow and the evening dusk are all beautiful sights. Riding the waves with grace, the vast sea and the blue sky allow the dragon to roam freely! The wind is strong, heading towards the dream!

26. Red leaves are deep affection, yellow leaves are serene joy, green leaves are a gentle and peaceful transition, the tranquility and beauty of autumn leaves are a scenery of life!

27. The wild flowers bloom with a delicate fragrance, fine trees are lush with dense shade, wind and frost make them noble and clean, profound and distant, the clear red maple leaves are tranquil, pure, transparent, observed from the heart, they possess the grace of strong character. Where does one see one's true nature? In the subtle creation of thought. There is no worldly dust, no greyness, no obstacles, only cleanliness, pure sentiment, sincerity, grandeur, tallness, elegance...

28. The autumn water in the pond is clear and deep, reflecting the inverted images of the rainbow in the mirror-like surface. The autumn heart is like water, silent yet beautiful.

29. The forest is dyed in hues, everywhere is radiant. Where the bustle ends, time is serene. The skyscrapers, trees, lakes, and people exercising are all naturally harmonious, near and far.

30. Many scenic spots in New York have never been truly appreciated. Time flies by so quickly, and we get accustomed to it, looking back only to find that we have lost the feelings of the changing seasons and the beauty of the land and rivers. Instead, our daily routines and the hustle and bustle of life occupy our minds, indeed, we have missed out on many "beautiful moments" that are as easily picked up as they are abundant!

31. In fact, the environment changes with your mindset. If you love, there is beauty everywhere in life. If you are beautiful, life is fragrant all around. Live in the present.

32. It can be said that: Do not fill the rest of your life with regret, do not let your life be spent in boredom, and do not greet the days with leniency. Keep the mind serene amidst the hustle and bustle, be kind and gentle without fear of coldness, let the disturbances fade away, and let烦恼 disappear. Cultivate your character, indulge in the world of books, be gently intoxicated by time, half immersed in the mundane, half in poetry. This life is worth waiting for, isn't it delightful!

33. Appendix: The poems and verses I have recently studied are edited as follows. I still appreciate Teacher Chen Si Fan's dedication. Many of them are odes to autumn, so I have included my personal leisurely photographed autumn scenes as illustrations to keep them together.

34. The New Pavilion overlooks the vermilion balustrade, fine trees bloom with lotus flowers. The fresh morning breeze carries the fragrance far, the frosty dew is rich in color. Gracefully stepping out of the world, it displays diverse expressions. Often heard the metaphor of form and emptiness, who is the creator's craft? Drifting in the autumn moon's glow, the distant mountain bell chimes. "The Lotus Pavilion" by Liu Zongyuan of the Tang Dynasty. In the cold dew season, the coolness intensifies, and the warmest thing is to be reminded to add more clothes and blankets. In this world, the most valuable is companionship, and the warmest is emotion. Friends, no matter what you are doing, how busy you are, always take care of yourself. If you are tired, know to slow down, rest well, and take good care of your body. Health and safety are the greatest blessing.

35. How great my decline! Sad to think of my past companions, now scattered, how few remain! White hair hangs down for three thousand feet, a smile in the world for all things. Ask what can make you happy? I see the green mountains full of charm, I guess the mountains see me should be like this. Emotion and appearance, slightly similar. With a cup in hand, scratching my head by the east window. Thinking of Yuanming's poem "Stopping Clouds," this is the flavor of the moment. Those who seek fame in the Jiangzuo region, how can they understand the profound meaning of the muddled wine. Looking back, calling the clouds to fly and the wind to rise. I do not regret not seeing the ancients, but regret that the ancients did not see my recklessness. Those who understand me, a few of you, say that my heart is troubled. "The New Song of Celebration: How Great My Decline" Song Dynasty, Xin Qiji. Xin Qiji's recklessness is a unique and unrestrained elegance. Even when he was retired and living in seclusion, Xin Qiji did not change his rebellious nature. There is a kind of recklessness that is self-assured and invincible, even if it crosses through time and space, it does not lose its carefree demeanor.

36. Heavy rain falls over the tranquil Yan and Yanzhou, white waves surge to the sky, fishing boats outside of Qinhuangdao. In this vast ocean, not a single boat can be seen, where could it have gone? The past is over a thousand years ago, when Emperor Wu of Wei brandished his whip, arriving at Jieshi Stone with a surviving poem. The desolate autumn wind is as it was, but the world has changed. - Mao Zedong, "Wangtao Sha: Beidaihe" The autumn wind is bleak, yet the vastness of the land and sky is majestic. Facing the expansive autumn scenery, Mao Zedong was moved to write this powerful and grand poem. The beauty of autumn lies in its clarity, elevation, vastness, distance, tranquility, purity, depth, thickness, and greatness. In its clarity and elevation, there is tranquility; in its vastness and distance, there is profundity; in its tranquility, there is purity; in its thickness, there is breadth. "The desolate autumn wind is as it was, but the world has changed," is both a description, a commentary, and a sentiment! It is profound and has a lingering charm, as if it leads us into an infinite time and space to savor the endless meanings beyond words.

37. "Stopping Clouds, a poem of longing for friends and relatives. The jar is filled with fresh wine, the garden is adorned with newly bloomed flowers, but my wishes go unfulfilled, and sighs fill my heart. The clouds hover over the stoppage, the timely rain is misty. The eight directions are darkened, the flat land becomes a river. There is wine, there is wine, let us casually drink by the eastern window. My heartfelt longing for you, but boats and carriages are not at my disposal." Tao Yuanming, in his "Four Poems on Stopping Clouds, Second Poem," openly declares that this is a set of poems expressing longing for friends and relatives. The jar is brimming with clear new wine, and the garden is lined with newly blossomed flowers, yet my beautiful wishes remain unattainable, and sighs of desolation fill my bosom. It is better to let deep regret be handed over to the passage of time than to let longing turn into illness. Someday, those obstacles you cannot overcome will be filled in as you walk along.

38. The river contains the autumn shadow, and the wild geese begin to fly; With guests, I carry a jar up the green hillock. In the world of men, it's hard to find a moment to laugh, so let the chrysanthemums adorn your head and return home. Just be drunk to celebrate the festival, there's no need to ascend and regret the setting sun. Throughout history, it's always like this; why should the bull hill be the only one to get wet? -- "Ascending the High Hill on the Ninth Day" by Du Mu, Tang Dynasty. Life is short, there's no need to shed tears. The world is full of troubles, but the heart should not be bound by worry. With more contentment, there's more happiness; with more calmness, there's more ease. A little accountancy brings a pound of烦恼 (troubles); one who lets go gains two people's freedom. Let the years not turn back, the black hair turns white, and youth is hard to retain. Don't argue with time, don't compete with worries. Seize the moment, enjoy life promptly, don't waste sorrow unnecessarily; seek only the freedom of a lifetime. The most beautiful Double Ninth Festival, its beauty lies in the serene breadth of vision.

39. In spring, the waters overflow the four marshes; in summer, the clouds gather over peaks of the most fantastical shapes. In autumn, the moon sheds its bright glow; in winter, a solitary pine tree stands out on the lush mountainside. -- From Tao Yuanming's "Four Seasons". After the harsh winter has passed, a vast body of spring water overflows the fields and marshes; the summer clouds are ever-changing, most of them resembling peaks that rise abruptly, displaying myriad forms. The autumn moon shines brightly, casting a mystical aura over all the scenery; on the cold mountainside in winter, a green pine tree reveals its vigorous vitality. The beauty of the four seasons is not in the eyes of the wealthy, but in the eyes of those who have a heart!

40. Alone in the cold autumn, the Xiang River flows northward, past the head of the Orange Island. Behold the thousands of mountains, red from end to end, and the dense forests染尽; the river's clear, as the hundred boats vie with each other in their flow. The eagles strike the sky, the fish glide in the shallow waters, and all kinds of creatures compete for freedom in the frosty sky. Depressed by the vast expanse, I inquire of the boundless land, who controls the rise and fall? Carrying with me the memories of my companions in past adventures, I recall the dense and heroic years of old. Just as our youthful classmates were in their prime, full of youthful vigor; with the spirit of scholars, their eloquence was most forceful. Guiding the mountains and rivers, their words were stirring, turning the filth of the past into the lords of a thousand households. Do you remember, when we paddled in the middle of the river, the waves hindered the sailing boat? Mao Zedong's "Spring Dawn at Changsha" At the age of thirty, Mao Zedong stood alone at the head of the Orange Island on a crisp autumn day, gazing at the clear waters of the Xiang River as they slowly flowed northward. He "pointed at the mountains and rivers, stirring the words" to carve his deep feelings for China on the mountains and rivers; he "asked the boundless land, who controls the rise and fall?" In his confusion, he displayed both elegance and melancholy.

41. The poor use it for their own, and time forgets the four seasons round. The courtyard is filled with fallen leaves, and I am filled with melancholy knowing autumn is here. New date palms are lush in the north window, and fine grain is cultivated in the south field. Today I do not seek joy, but wonder if there will be joy in the coming year? Commanding the household to take the young and the weak, on a good day, we embark on a distant journey. - Tao Yuanming's "Answer to Liu Chaisang" Liu Chaisang, also known as Liu Chengzhi, had once been the magistrate of Chaisang. That autumn, Liu Chaisang came down from Lushan to visit Tao Yuanming, and they exchanged poems and songs together. It was then that Tao Yuanming wrote "Answer to Liu Chaisang." The hermit Tao Yuanming, with no social engagements, sometimes even forgets the changes of the four seasons. In any situation, a peaceful mindset is always the most beautiful, and being happy every day is the right way!

42. The moss covers the stone wall, the stream water is dim and hazy. The purple vine with yellow flowers, delicately blooming in the frosty dew. In the morning, I drink dew from the flowers, and at night, I lie down under the pine trees, enjoying the gentle breeze. In such an environment, Wang Changling said, the sun and moon washed my soul, making the sky and universe feel even more vast. A pure heart towards autumn, the clarity enters the eyes. Besides understanding how to love others, it is more important to know how to appreciate oneself. Coming with nothing, leaving with nothing but a breeze in the sleeves, leaving only a faint smile and talk to the world. "Changxin" Tang Dynasty, Wang Changling. The purple vine and chrysanthemums bloom delicately in the frosty dew. In the morning, I drink dew from the flowers, and at night, I lie quietly under the pines, enjoying the light breeze. In this environment, Wang Changling said that the sun and moon cleansed my soul, making the sky and universe feel even more vast. A pure heart towards autumn, the clarity enters the eyes. Besides understanding how to love others, it is important to know how to appreciate oneself. One comes with nothing, leaves with nothing but a breeze in the sleeves, leaving only a faint smile and talk to the world.

43. In the autumn, with the reeds in bloom and at night in Xiangxiang, the beautiful scenery of Juzhou is like a painted screen. Under the clear moon and amidst the green mist, a small boat has just finished fishing. The water is the hometown, the sail the shelter, and fish soup and rice are the daily fare. Wine fills the cup, books fill the shelves, and fame and wealth are not on the heart's mind. "Fish Song Zi: Reeds in Autumn" by Li Xun of the Five Dynasties. This is an autumn night in Xiangxiang, where the reeds sway in the wind, the scenery is as beautiful as a painting, the river water is gentle and clear under the moonlight, and the clouds and mist are faint. The protagonist has just finished fishing and is floating on the water in a small boat. It is truly poetic and picturesque, dreamlike and surreal. The clouds and water are the hometown, the thatched shed the residence, and the daily food is home-style fish soup and rice. The cup is filled with fine wine, the shelves are filled with books, feeling carefree and happy, not caring about fame and wealth. Life is a long journey of self-entertainment, pleasing others is a mere trick, but being able to please oneself every day is the hard truth.

44. As autumn descends upon the mountains shrouded in clouds, everything exudes an elegant charm. A myriad of scenes are worthy of painting. The red maple leaves, with thousands of leaves, blend with the azure clouds at the edge, and the yellow chrysanthemums, with a thousand dots, are scattered beneath the secluded cliffs. I am already delighted by this fine day, but even more so by the serene night. A bright moon hangs above the treetops. I often make appointments with the wild people to enjoy the sweet wine, and we forget ourselves while chatting about the tranquility of the world. — "Autumn in the Cloudy Mountains" by Zhang Lun of the Song Dynasty. This is a colorful autumn landscape of the mountains in the clouds. The scenery in the mountains is fresh and beautiful, contending with each other in splendor and uniqueness as if in a painting. The countless maple leaves have dyed the mountains with their red hues, stretching all the way to the edges of the clouds, deep within the cliffs. Countless chrysanthemums are scattered about. The tranquil heart blends with the serene moonlight, creating such a leisurely and comfortable feeling. Just the right temperature, a comfortable breeze, the sunset in the evening, the path covered in fallen leaves, and the presence of someone you love make autumn truly beautiful.

45. Tomorrow and tomorrow, tomorrow comes so many. I wait for tomorrow, all things become in vain. The world is burdened by tomorrow, as spring goes and autumn comes, old age is approaching. In the morning, I watch the water flow eastward, in the evening, I watch the sun set westward. How many tomorrows can there be in a hundred years? Please listen to my "Song of Tomorrow" by Qian Fu of the Ming Dynasty. The fireworks in the heart longing for tomorrow need to be ignited with all one's strength. A bit of diligence today will bring more ease tomorrow. Every effort today will warm our hearts, allowing us to live elegantly, more leisurely and carefree. Seize the present, don't waste the prime of life.

46. Fly, light, fly! I urge you to have a cup of wine. I do not know how high the blue sky is, nor how thick the yellow earth is. I only see the moon becoming cold and the sun warming, both cooking the lifespan of humans. Eating bear makes one fat, eating toad makes one thin. Where is the divine king? Where is the Taiyi? There is a mythical tree in the east of the sky, beneath which there lies a dragon holding a torch. I will cut off the dragon's feet, chew on its flesh, so that it cannot return in the morning nor rest at night. Naturally, the old will not die, and the young will not cry. Why should one wear gold and swallow white jade? Who is like Ren Gong, riding a green donkey in the clouds? Liu Che has many bones in his Maoling, and Ying Zheng's coffin costs a lot of sturgeon. — "The Shortness of the Day," by Li He of the Tang Dynasty. The madness of Li He is a persistent pursuit of the eternity of time. Since ancient times, no one has not felt melancholy about the passage of time, longing to retain the fleeting moments. Behind the extreme madness is the pursuit of the eternity of time. If only people could always be in their sixteenth or seventeenth year, when one was truly young and unaware of the bitterness of sorrow, even the smallest matters could move one to tears.

47. The rustling leaves of the wutong tree bring the sound of cold, and the autumn wind on the river stirs the feelings of a traveler. I know there are children picking and urging the silkworms, a single light shining in the deepening night, behind the hedge. — "Night Observations" by Ye Shaoweng of the Song Dynasty. Autumn is the season most prone to homesickness, and as Ye Shaoweng, a man living away from home, saw the autumn wind in the quiet night, he naturally began to miss home. The fluttering leaves, the howling autumn wind, and the chilling air all set off the melancholic feeling of a wanderer's floating life and loneliness. Seeing things and thinking of people, being moved by the scene, any homesickness is a luxury. The hardships and injustices endured abroad can only be comforted by the warmth of home.

48. Early in the morning, I enter an ancient temple, the first rays of the sun illuminating the tall trees. A bamboo path leads to a secluded place, where the Zen room is surrounded by deep flowers and trees. The mountain light delights the birds' nature, and the reflection of the pool empties the mind. All sounds around are silent here, only the sound of the bells and chimes remains. Tang Dynasty, Chang Jian's "Title of the Zen Room Behind the Broken Mountain Temple" — The sun rises and sets, flowers bloom and wither; what we possess is only a short few decades. In this boundless universe, what I most wish to have is a ray of morning light and an endless hope. Every morning is worth cherishing, every sunrise is worth remembering, and every ray of light that enters the heart is worth treasuring. May we all be filled with joy and vitality.

49. The frost collects watermarks. The light blue scales reveal the distant island. The wine's strength diminishes, the wind is soft, sighing. The torn hat, full of affection, clings to my head. The joyous festival, how to repay it? Just drink and send autumn away. In the end, all things are but dreams, enough. Tomorrow's withered chrysanthemums make the butterflies sad. "Nanxiangzi Chongjiu Hanhui Lou Cheng Xu Junyou" by Su Shi. In Su Shi's view, all things in the world are but dreams, fleeting and empty; honor and disgrace, gain and loss, wealth and poverty are all ephemeral clouds; the troubles and bustles of the world are not worth lingering over. If fate does not allow one to achieve anything, one should drink and be merry, spend the rest of one's life this way; if there is an opportunity to realize one's ambitions, one should strive for it.

50. In the misty clouds of the Northern Mountain, the recluse finds joy in solitude. Only by looking afar do we ascend the height, our hearts following the geese as they fly away. Sadness arises with the fading twilight, while spirits are kindled by the clear autumn. Sometimes we see villagers returning, taking a rest at the ferryhead. Trees in the distance resemble wild celery, and the isles by the river resemble the moon. When shall we bring wine together, and get drunk on the Chongyang Festival? — From "Autumn Ascension of Lanshan and Letter to Zhang Wu" by Meng Haoran of the Tang Dynasty. In the clear autumn, with the mountains in view, we remember our friends and sorrow arises like the twilight. With the bright moon shining, and a solitary shadow by the river, we wait for a knowledgeable soul to share the past brilliance. As the ancient saying goes, "In life, to have one intimate friend is enough." In the long river of life, we will always meet a few people who resonate with our souls!

51. On a cold day, the sound of wind sweeps across the intricate window, and the wutong tree must hate the frost of last night. After drinking to the dregs, I am even more fond of the bitter tea, and it is particularly suitable for when dreams are broken and the aroma of xue nao (a type of incense) is preferable. Autumn is over, but the days are still long, and Zhongxuan's longing for distant places is even more desolate. It's better to be drunk at the tip of the wine cup, and not to waste the yellow chrysanthemum blossoms of the eastern fence. Song Dynasty, Li Qingzhao. "Not a good mood, can only drink to dispel it; drinking too much, can't help but fall into a deep sleep. Tea can alleviate wine, and a special fondness for bitter tea indicates drinking has been excessive. On the surface, there is an optimistic attitude, but in fact, it reveals homesickness that is deeply intertwined with the sorrow of losing the motherland and being displaced. The worries and grievances are even greater. The various experiences and sufferings in life are like that cup of freshly brewed dark tea. The taste is so much like the bitter-sweetness of life, the warmth and coldness known only to oneself.

52. The autumn water in the pond is clear and deep, the lotus flowers on ten acres are like clear mirrors in the evening. The scenery is dynamic with the new bridge arching across, the banks are covered with fragrant grass where swans are resting. The moon's reflection dips into the lake as it falls at night, the mountain peaks' reflections enter the waves like new lotus blossoms. Where does the poet's spirit soar most? It's amidst the twilight fog and rain, the chaotic sound of frogs. "Painting at the Eastern Lake of San Tang," Tang Dynasty, by Wei Zhuang. In Wei Zhuang's writing, the autumn pond has its own beauty. The lake water is emerald green and clear, the lotus flowers on the surface like a bright mirror, the new bridge across the lake like a rainbow. The moon's reflection seems to sink into the lake as it descends at night like a sinking jade, the mountain peaks' reflections in the waves like newly bloomed lotus flowers. The twilight fog and rain, along with the chaotic sounds of frogs, are both melodious and memorable. The beauty of the autumn pond and the sound of frogs is undeniable. In fact, if you love it, there's beauty in life everywhere.
