In a chaotic world, there is a force that is as firm as a rock and as serene as still water. This is the— strongest will. It originates from the wisdom of composure, a tranquil heart, and untroubled calm.
1. Striding on the path of life with a gentle yet robust pace, accumulating memories and commemorations in the gradual progress, and completing the journey with no regrets and expectations. Offer a flower to your own life, making our lives more comfortable and carefree. Detached from fame and wealth, not competing with the world, cherish everything in sight, and live happily every single day. With the heart of appreciating landscapes, take each step, gathering both sunshine and rain into the backpack behind you. The journey of life will surely be rich and wonderful.
2. In the breeze, the night disperses a piece of melancholy amidst a faint scent of ink. Beneath the window curtains lies a comfortable bed, with a guitar lying on it, and a purple bamboo flute by the head of the bed. A table lamp casts a soft glow, shining my world into the depths of Zen. I sit silently at the bodhi desk, trying to remain unsoiled by dust, as if in this moment I have seen through the world's illusions and achieved enlightenment, quietly awaiting the morning bell and the sound of the chime, which will guide me to take refuge in the Buddha.
3. In a normal life, with a normal mindset, why worry too much? There were never any insurmountable obstacles. Buddhism's understanding of emptiness is to see the world with eyes and have no entanglements in the heart. One can calmly face the stories of life, bear the burdens, traverse ups and downs, maintain a balance between effort and relaxation, and have a peaceful attitude. Some past experiences, rather than holding onto them, are better left to chance.
4. Living is a state of mind. Whether you are rich or poor, successful or defeated, everything is just a fleeting moment. As long as you maintain a good mood, everything will be fine. No matter what difficulties you encounter, when you go out, always make sure you look clean and tidy, beautiful and dignified, with your head held high, your chest挺直, and a smile on your face. Face life with composure and ease. As long as you truly stand up for yourself, no one can bring you down. Inner strength is the real strength.
5. Detachment is not the same as having a still mind. Detachment clarifies one's aspirations, brings tranquility to one's distant horizons, and is aimed at possessing a genuine and beautiful existence. I truly hope that after many years have passed and I have experienced the ups and downs of life, and the relentless washing of time, I will still be able to achieve the意境 of a still mind, not being elated by material things, not being despondent by personal setbacks, and still find my own tranquility and composure.
6. Neighbors are harmonious, and the community is united; those who are willing to endure hardships have many good connections. Uncle Li and Aunt Zheng often give fruits, and Brother Zhang and Sister Wang often send grains. There is tea to drink and things can be said openly. What should one worry about?
7. Without sadness or joy, with a calm and peaceful mind, one can achieve health and longevity, and maintain a trouble-free body.
8. When we are facing misfortune, facing failure and major disasters, as long as we can still fill our cup of life with water of hope, then no matter what kinds of hardships and misfortunes we encounter, we can always maintain a cheerful mood, and our life will not wither because of setbacks.
9. For instance, an intelligent man carrying an axe enters the mountains and sees a bamboo tree, thinking that the wood is suitable for use, he cuts the roots, trims the leaves, chops the branches, and peels the bark, seeking its firmness. He peels until there is nothing left that is firm. Similarly, the wise disciple with much learning, when observing with right mindfulness the eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind, finds nothing to be taken at the time of proper observation; because there is nothing to be taken, there is no attachment; because there is no attachment, there is self-realization of Nirvana. "Samyukta-Agama" Volume 10, Sutra 248.
10. For beginners in Buddhism, learning profound teachings without a solid foundation is akin to building a castle in the air. Without a firm foundation for practice, not only is it difficult to establish the correct view of the profound nature of emptiness, but it is also challenging to manage worldly affairs. It is like building a house on ice in winter; once winter passes and the ice and snow melt, the house will collapse rapidly.
11. A very realistic statement: "Some people choose to get married at the age of 22 but get divorced at 25; some find a job at 25 and achieve remarkable success by 28; while some remain single at 30; some encounter true love at the age of 40; some have passed away by the age of 60, while others are still traveling the world at 70; and some meet the person they want to spend the rest of their lives with at just 16."
12. Mencius said: "Therefore, when heaven is to confer a great responsibility upon a person, it must first distress their heart and mind, weary their muscles and bones, starve their body, impoverish their person, and disrupt their actions, in order to stir their heart, endure their nature, and enhance their abilities beyond what they were capable of."
13. A person with a grand character can do his or her role with peace of mind, diligently perform the tasks at hand, and not struggle for fame or wealth. Such a person can make their world vast and open, and even if they temporarily fail, they will eventually achieve success. What is meant to come will come, and what is meant to go will definitely leave. Everything has its causes and effects; once the conditions are ripe, the results will follow, and they cannot be prevented.
14. Where there is much, there is also little: those with more money have fewer returns home, those with more beauty have fewer clothes to wear. Those with more ideas have fewer accomplishments, and those with more accomplishments have shorter lives. Those with more education have fewer insights, and those with more insights have less peace. Those who work more have less income, and those with more power have less integrity. Those with more lovers sleep less, and those with more friends have fewer difficulties. Those with more laughter have fewer diseases. How much do you have and how much do you lack?
15. The old monk, thirty years ago, before he practiced Zen, saw mountains as mountains and water as water. But later, after personally encountering knowledgeable individuals and finding a path, he realized that mountains are not mountains and water is not water. Now, having found a place of rest, he sees mountains as just mountains and water as just water again.
16. If all beings in the six realms of the world do not* [be deluded], they will not follow the cycle of birth and death. You practice samadhi, originally to transcend the dust and turmoil. If* [the delusion] is not removed, the dust cannot be transcended.
17. All ups and downs of emotional fluctuations can cause harm to the body and also affect our sense of happiness in life.

18. The Buddha said: Jealousy towards others will not bring any benefits to oneself. Jealousy towards others also cannot reduce the achievements of others.
19. There are always experiences that test our cultivation. You can choose to express them or digest them internally, but your heart cannot be weak. A life that ties itself in a cocoon is hell, while a life that reflects wisdom is heaven. Who hasn't experienced loss, separation, and reunion? Who hasn't felt joy, anger, sadness, and happiness? What's important is to learn to sort out your emotions. If you must keep something, keep the warm memories. If you must express something, show the sunny side to the world, and your own life will also be illuminated.
20. In fact, life is full of coincidences, full of opportunities to start over. Do not easily give up on any opportunity life gives you. Perhaps a single coincidence can rewrite your life.

25. Life is a continuous process of subtraction. In youth, there are too many desires, too many things to do, and too many people to love, which can be困扰ed and entangled by many things. Gradually, with the increase of age and experience, one becomes more serene and relaxed.
26. When a person loses their interests, it's as dangerous as plants without sunlight or life without water. When you have value to others, they will look up to you; when you are of no value to others, they will be too lazy to waste time and energy on you.
27. Unconsciously, autumn has arrived. In the evening, with a gentle breeze blowing, running, chatting, recounting past events, time always seems to pass so quickly... There's no need to ponder too much. Face all that is predictable and unpredictable with an easy-going attitude. May everything be well!
28. Most of the time, filled with admiration and awe for life: actually, aware of the evil, suspicion, envy, despair, and abyss deep within human nature, but no matter how poisoned, injured, or defeated, a turn back can still reveal the warmth and goodness in life. The beauty deep within the heart gently trembles, although it may bloom late, it will still open deeply.

30. Cultivating character is the lifelong task of practicing Zen, which is far more important than clever and witty sayings. Master Fazhao has a poem: Trees with the same breath are connected and flourish individually, let not a word wound your feelings; each time we meet, we grow older, how many times can we be brothers?
31. Yanye Yin, the CEO of BGI, said that when people experience intense emotional fluctuations, their genes can change silently, and many severe and major diseases, such as cancer, may occur as a result.
32. If you have good thoughts in your heart, auspicious spirits will come along; if you have evil thoughts in your heart, evil ghosts will come along. Understanding this point allows you to command spirits and ghosts.
33. If you see sentient beings suffering from various kinds of distress, you should think: Since I have been revolving in the cycle of birth and death for countless eons, I have also experienced such suffering, the number of which is immeasurable. Therefore, I should diligently seek methods to eliminate all desires, so that they do not grow any further. From the "Sutra of the Miscellaneous Collection," Volume Thirty-Four, Chapter 943.

38. All sentient beings are the dependent conditions for practice, indispensable objects for cultivation on the path of practice. The Bodhisattva Jìtiān says in the "Treatise on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment": "The dependent conditions for the practice of dharma, the sentient beings are like the Buddha. To respect the Buddha but not the sentient beings, is there such a teaching?" From the perspective of the dependent conditions for practice, the role of sentient beings is equal to that of the Buddha, and both are equally important. 44. Meditate amidst the hustle and bustle of the world. In the morning, brew a pot of clear tea, light a stick of incense, and sit quietly by a window that is bright and a table that is clean. Look at a pot of bamboo shoots that calm the mind, as if it is contemplating some distant friend. As the tea cools and the incense burns out, my mood remains as it was at the beginning, having not gained any enlightenment, but I deeply know that this process without disturbance, without thoughts of the mundane, is a form of meditation.

45. The best way to propagate the Pure Land法门 is to let the other person hear "Amitabha Buddha" with a success rate of 60%; if you let them recite the name of Amitabha Buddha once, the success rate increases to 90%. 51. When I open my eyes, I only see others, not myself. I neglect myself and spend my entire life looking at others, living for others, and being affected by others' joys, sorrows, and griefs, losing myself in the process. Yet, I fail to realize that whether seen, heard, or thought about, everything, whether great or small, beautiful or ugly, is all perceived without distinction in the mind. It is the mind that plays tricks on us, manifesting differences through the mind's own illusion. Once one understands that the mind is not distinguishable, one can rediscover oneself.

All the good and bad experiences we encounter in life are the amplification and extension of our inner mental models!
