2. 徐霞客年轻的时候，和家乡所有的年轻人一样，读书科举，光宗耀祖。后来在科举考试中名落孙山，痛定思痛，他觉得不能再像大家一样迷失在世俗的名利之中，应该走出这个世俗的群体，找到真正的自己。

2. When Xu Xiake was young, like all the young people in his hometown, he studied for the imperial examinations to bring honor to his family. Later, he failed in the imperial examinations and felt deeply hurt. After much reflection, he believed that he could no longer be lost in the secular pursuit of fame and fortune like everyone else. He thought he should step out of this secular crowd and find the true self.

3. 一个人的灵魂，只有在独处之中，才能洞见自身的澄澈明净，才能享受到生命的蓬勃葳蕤。

4. 自己在这个世界上最热爱的事情是什么呢？是做官吗？不是的。是发财吗？不是的。是浑浑噩噩的做一个农夫吗？不是的。是做一个吟诗作赋的小文人吗？不是的。徐霞客发现自己的内心在发出一阵强烈的呐喊：生活不止眼前的苟且，还有诗和远方的田野。要走出眼前的小圈子，把自己放逐于长天大地，皓月苍穹。

4. What is the most beloved thing in the world to yourself? Is it becoming an official? No, it's not that. Is it to get rich? No, it's not that either. Is it to live a blissfully unaware life as a farmer? No, it's not. Is it to become a little literati who writes poems and verses? No, it's not. Xu Xiake discovered that his heart was roaring with a strong cry: Life is not just about the trivialities in front of us; it's also about poetry and the vast fields of the distant horizon. One needs to break out of the small circle in front of us and cast oneself into the boundless sky and earth, the bright moon and the vast sky.

5. 我们会像别人一样追名逐利，为了一点鸡毛蒜皮的小事而惴惴不安，为了一点生命中的蝇头小利而拼尽全力，为了得到别人的掌声和赞美而身心俱疲，最后我们和别人都一样，就像流水线上生产出来的人类。

5. We will pursue fame and wealth like others, be worried about trivial matters, strive to the utmost for the tiniest benefits in life, and be exhausted both physically and mentally to gain others' applause and praise. In the end, we are no different from others, like human beings produced on an assembly line.

6. 于是徐霞客出发，脚穿布鞋，手持竹杖，朝碧海而暮苍梧，开始用自己的双脚去丈量祖国的山山水水。

6. Thus, Xu Xiake set off, wearing cloth shoes on his feet, holding a bamboo staff in his hand, heading towards the Azure Sea in the morning and the Cangwu Mountains in the evening, beginning to measure the mountains and rivers of his motherland with his own two feet.

7. 人生的本质就是百年孤独，没有人可以陪你走到最后，父母大概率先你而去，儿女有着属于自己的生活，老伴与你是不同的生命个体，有着完全不同的人生观和生活方式。我们必须学会与孤独和解，在一个人的生活里自得其乐，才是对生命最好的交代。

7. The essence of life is a century of solitude; no one can accompany you to the very end. Your parents may leave you first, your children have their own lives, and your partner is a different individual with completely different views on life and lifestyle. We must learn to reconcile with solitude and find joy in a solitary life, which is the best way to honor life.

8. 当你熬到了一个人喝茶，一个人散步，一个人旅行，一个人读书，一个人逛街，一个人吃饭，一个人睡觉，一个人遛弯，一个人养花，没有电话，没有邀约，没有社交，没有聚会，没有任何人打扰你，你也不想打扰任何人，不愿意走进任何人的生活，也不想让任何人来消耗你，发展一点小爱好，做自己热爱的事情，作息规律，锻炼身体，内心强大，淡泊名利，不在乎任何人对你的任何态度，不对，任何人抱有任何期待，你的眼睛里只有你，你的世界里只有你，全世界都是你自己的，和其他人毫无关系，那你就抵达了生命的最高境界。

When you have reached a point where you enjoy tea alone, take walks alone, travel alone, read alone, shop alone, dine alone, sleep alone, stroll alone, cultivate flowers alone, without phone calls, without invitations, without social engagements, without gatherings, with no one disturbing you, and you don't want to disturb anyone either, unwilling to intrude into anyone's life, nor letting anyone consume you, developing a hobby, doing what you love, maintaining a regular routine, exercising your body, having a strong inner self, being indifferent to fame and fortune, not caring about anyone's attitude towards you, not having any expectations of anyone, your eyes are only on yourself, your world is only about yourself, the whole world is your own, having no connection with others, then you have reached the highest level of life.

9. 这段很疗愈人心的话：“人是多么孤独，从生到死，同甘共苦，不离不弃的只有你自己。你所认识的你至亲的人，要么是半途当中进入了你的生命，要么是半途当中会退出你的生命。从头到尾，从生到死，从摇篮到坟墓，陪着你的只有一个人，只有你自己。”

9. This deeply comforting phrase: "How lonely people are; from birth to death, the only one who shares both happiness and hardship, and never leaves you, is yourself. The closest people you know, either enter your life halfway, or leave your life halfway.
