1. 时光灭处命光微,到眼繁华转眼非;莫在险途贪五欲,弥陀日夜望儿归。

1. As time fades, the life light dimmers, and the splendor in the eye vanishes in a blink; do not crave the five desires on the perilous path. Amidst the night and day, Amitabha (the Buddha of Infinite Light) waits for his son's return.

2. 莫轻视小善,以为我不会受报应。小水滴不断地落下,最后能灌满整个瓶子,所以聪明的人逐渐积集小善,而致使他整个人充满著福德。

2. Do not undervalue small kindnesses, thinking that I will not receive retribution. Like droplets of water continuously falling, they eventually fill up the entire bottle, so the wise person gradually accumulates small acts of kindness, filling themselves with virtue and blessings.

3. 一个人应该舍弃愤怒,拔除傲慢,超越所有的束缚。不执著心灵和物质的人,内心可以得到真正的安宁,而不受外在的影响。

3. A person should abandon anger, uproot arrogance, and transcend all bonds. One who is not attached to the mind and material things can achieve true peace of mind, unaffected by external influences.

4. 贪心是最猛烈的火,憎恨是最坏的执著,迷惑和错误的见解是最难脱逃的网,爱欲是最难渡过的河流。

4. Greed is the most fierce fire, hatred is the worst attachment, delusion and erroneous views are the hardest to escape from, and love and desire are the hardest river to cross.

5. 有两种极端是修行人所不应做的。这两种极端是什么呢?‘贪图感官’的享乐是低级的、粗鄙的、俗气的、下流的,而且导致身心的损害;‘自我折磨’是痛苦的、卑鄙的,也同样会给身心带来伤害。然而完美的圣者所发现的‘中道’,避免以上两种极端,而带给你敏锐的洞察力和知识,引导你走向平安、睿智、觉悟和永恒的乐境。

5. There are two extremes that practitioners should not engage in. What are these two extremes? The enjoyment of "sensory gratification" is low-level, coarse, vulgar, and degenerate, and it leads to harm to the body and mind; "self-torture" is painful and despicable, and it also causes harm to the body and mind. However, the "middle path" discovered by the perfect sage avoids these two extremes and brings you sharp insight and knowledge, guiding you towards peace, wisdom, enlightenment, and eternal bliss.

6. 教导别人应先以身作则。约束自己以后才能约束别人。约束自己实在难呀!

6. One should set an example for others before teaching them. It is only after self-discipline that one can discipline others. Self-discipline is really difficult!

7. 待人热诚,举止文雅,只要每天充满著喜悦,苦恼就会消失得无影无踪。

8. 释迦牟尼佛偈法本法无法,无法法亦法。今付无法时,法法何曾法。

9. 你们必须要有耐心、充满慈爱,而且具有服务的热诚。

10. 一个人用钱应该合理,并且跟他的收入成比例,不可浪费也不可吝啬。不可处心积虑贪图财富,也不可挥霍奢侈。

10. One should use money reasonably and in proportion to their income, neither wasteful nor miserly. Neither should one be overly greedy for wealth nor be extravagant and luxurious.

11. 不贞洁是妇人的污垢,吝啬是施舍的污垢。所有坏的言行和意念都成为今生和后世的污垢。

11. Inconstancy is the stain on a woman, and stinginess is the stain on almsgiving. All evil actions, words, and thoughts become stains on both this life and the next.

14. The Song of Vissiddhi Buddha borrows the four great elements as his body, for the mind itself is devoid of birth due to the presence of conditions. If there is no prior condition, neither is there mind, and thus, sins and blessings arise and vanish like illusions.

15. 要常亲近贤明的人,智者,博学的人,忠诚热心的人,尽责的人,圣者——常跟这些智德兼备的人往来。

15. It is essential to frequently associate with wise individuals, scholars, loyal and passionate people, those who take responsibility, and saints—constantly be in the company of these people who possess both wisdom and virtue.

16. 常思索苦恼的来源,善于约束自己的感官,饮食有节制,充满信心和干劲,就不会被邪魔所击败,宛如大山岩不会被风所动摇。

16. Those who often contemplate the source of their troubles, excel in controlling their senses, regulate their diet, are filled with confidence and determination, will not be defeated by evil spirits, just as a great mountain rock is not shaken by the wind.

17. 不要把所得的估计过高,也不要嫉妒别人、羡慕别人,就得不到宁静的心灵。

17. Do not overestimate what you have gained, nor envy or be envious of others, for only then can you attain a tranquil mind.

18. 与其你去排斥它已成的事实,你不如去接受它,这个叫做认命。

18. Rather than resisting the fact that has already occurred, it is better to accept it, which is known as resigned.

21. If one knows the mind and its actions, they will universally create all the worlds. Such a person will see the Buddha and understand the true nature of the Buddha.

22. 愚笨的人说:‘我有儿子,我有财产。’这是有烦恼的。因为他自己尚且不真正属于他的,何况他的儿子或财产呢?

22. The foolish person says, 'I have sons, I have property.' This is full of worries. For he does not truly belong to himself, let alone his sons or his property.

23. 当一个人感觉到不满而刻意追求时,他就成了爱渴的奴隶。

23. When a person feels dissatisfaction and deliberately seeks it, he becomes a slave to love hunger.

24. 人生没有如果,但是有很多但是,人生不能后悔,但是可以拐弯。

24. There are no "ifs" in life, but there are many "buts." Life cannot be regretted, but it can take a turn.

25. 在急躁的人群中要容忍,在凶暴的人群中要温和,在贪婪的人群中要慷慨。

25. Be tolerant among the impatient, gentle among the violent, and generous among the greedy.

26. 愿所有的生物、动物和人类,没有任何怨恨、疾病、忧伤,而且愿他(它)们都能快乐地保护自己。

26. May all beings, animals, and humans have no resentment, illness, or sadness, and may they all be happy in protecting themselves.

27. 一九○、自己是自己的保护者,自己是自己的依靠者。所以你们要好好调御自己,宛如马商调御良马。

28. 佛言:夫为道者,如被干草,火来须避。道人见欲,必当远之。

28. The Buddha said: One who practices the path should be like dried grass, which must avoid fire. A practitioner should definitely keep a distance from desire.

29. 所有的动物都害怕刑罚,所有的动物都畏惧死亡(所有的动物都爱惜生命)。自己设身处地想想别人和他人做个比较。一个人不应该杀害动物或教唆别人杀害动物。

29. All animals fear punishment, all animals dread death (all animals cherish life). Think of others and make comparisons with yourself. One should not kill animals or incite others to kill animals.

30. 不知道苦恼的真相、苦恼的原因、除去苦恼的境界和消除苦恼的方法——就叫做‘无知’。

30. Not knowing the truth of suffering, the cause of suffering, the realm that eliminates suffering, and the methods to eradicate suffering is called 'ignorance.'

31. 同时,假如别人给我戴高帽子,过于赞美我的教法和僧侣,你也不要太得意,因为这样也会损害你内在的(心智)发展。你应该接受事实的部份,而且向他们表明实际的情况。

31. At the same time, if others flatter me by excessively praising my teaching methods and monks, you should not be overly pleased either, because this can also harm your inner (mental) development. You should accept the part of the facts and also show them the actual situation.

32. 只有当自己知道某件事物的确不完善和错误时,你才能革除它。也只有当你自己确实知道某件事物是完善和正确时,你才能接受它,而且去身体力行。

32. Only when you yourself know that something is indeed imperfect and wrong, can you eliminate it. And only when you yourself truly know that something is perfect and correct, can you accept it and take action accordingly.

33. 从今天开始,一个人应当努力改进他的心智,因为我们从来不知道什么时候死亡。

33. From today on, one should strive to improve their mind, for we never know when death will come.

34. 让我们心中无限的爱,遍布整个世界——无论是宇宙的那一个角落——都没有丝毫的障碍、怨恨和敌意。

34. Let the boundless love in our hearts spread throughout the entire world—be it in any corner of the universe—without the slightest obstacle, resentment, or animosity.

35. 放下过去的烦恼,不耽忧未来,不执著现在,你的内心就会平静。

35. Let go of the worries of the past, do not worry about the future, and do not be obsessed with the present, and your mind will be at peace.

38. 一切行无常,生者必有尽,不生则不死,此灭最为乐。

38. All things are impermanent; those that are born must come to an end. If there is no birth, there is no death. This extinction is the greatest joy.

39. 乔达摩(释迦牟尼的姓)的弟子们:你们要好好觉醒,不论白天和夜晚,常常想念完美的圣者——佛陀。

39. Disciples of Gautama (the surname of Siddhartha, known as Buddha): You should awaken well, whether during the day or at night, and constantly think of the perfect saint—the Buddha.

40. 贪爱一百件事物,就有一百个苦恼,贪爱九十件,十件,五件,两件事物,就有九十个,十个,五个,两个烦恼。

40. The more you love a hundred things, the more a hundred troubles you will have; the more you love ninety things, ten things, five things, or two things, the more you will have ninety, ten, five, or two troubles.

41. 要了解个人,只需要看他的出发点与目的地是否相同,就可以知道他是否真心的。

41. To understand a person, just look at whether the starting point and destination are the same, and you can know whether he is sincere.

42. 以慈爱来感化怨恨,以良善来感化邪恶。以施舍来感化吝啬,以真实来感化谎言。

42. Win resentment with kindness, win evil with goodness. Win stinginess with charity, win lies with truth.

43. 若欲放下即放下,欲待了期无了期。此身不向今生度,更向何生度此身。

43. If you wish to let go, let go now; if you wait for a time, there will be no end. If this body is not saved in this life, then when will it be saved in another life?

44. 你不要直不满人家,你应该直检讨自己才对。不满人家,是苦了你自己。

44. Don't directly express dissatisfaction with others; you should critically examine yourself instead. Expressing dissatisfaction with others only causes yourself distress.

45. 认识自己,降伏自己,改变自己,才能改变别人。今日的执着,会造成明日的后悔。

45. To know oneself, subdue oneself, and change oneself, one can then change others. Today's attachment will lead to tomorrow's regret.

46. 锻炼心智的形式有三种:第一种是高尚道德的训练,第二种是高超思考方的训练,第三种是高等领悟力的训练。

47. 寻找别人过失,而且容易发怒的人,苦恼越来越多。离开没有烦恼的境界也越来越远。

49. 让我们本著无限的爱心,去对待所有的生物,就如同慈母冒著生命的危险去保护自己唯一的孩子。

53. 得住手时须住手,得闭口时须闭口;若能住手与闭口,百岁安宁有八九。

53. When it's time to stop, you must stop; when it's time to be silent, you must be silent; if you can stop and be silent, you will have about 80-90% peace and tranquility in your hundred years.

54. 读诵圣典虽然不多,可是遵照教法奉行,摒除贪欲、憎恨和愚昧,具有正确的智慧,心里没有挂碍,不贪恋今生和来世,便是启发心智的实行者。

55. 让我们本著无限的爱心,去对待所有的生物,就如同慈母冒著生命的危险去保护自己唯一的孩子。 三

55. Let us treat all living beings with infinite love, just as a loving mother risks her life to protect her only child. Three.

56. 人生有八苦:生,老,病,死,爱别离,怨长久,求不得,放不下。

56. Life has eight sufferings: birth, old age, illness, death, separation from loved ones, long-lasting grievances, not obtaining what one seeks, and being unable to let go.

57. 以不真实的事物为真实,以真实的事物为不真实,停留在不真实的思想中,永远无法达到真实的境界。

57. Treating the false as true and the true as false, and remaining in the state of false thoughts, one can never reach the realm of truth.

58. 一个人的心念极为微细而且不易察觉,可是聪明的人却善于护守即将蠢动的心念,经过护守的心能导致幸福。

59. ‘一切有条件的事物都是无常的。’当一个人用智慧来观察这真理时,他便开始厌离种种的苦恼,这是达到清净的路子。

59. "All conditioned things are impermanent." When a person observes this truth with wisdom, they begin to grow weary of various sufferings, which is a path to purity.

60. 通常发生下列这种情形:当一个人经历过坏医生的诊疗后,他连好医生也不信任了。

60. A common situation is as follows: After experiencing treatment from a bad doctor, a person no longer trusts even good doctors.

61. 服务社会的人容易跟别人相处,乐于助人而且了解对方的需要,大方又有耐心地教导他人。这种大善人将来一定得到好报。

61. People who serve society are easy to get along with others, always willing to help and understand their needs. They teach others generously and with patience. Such kind-hearted individuals are sure to be rewarded in the future.

62. 对任何事物没有贪执的人,就没有苦恼。所以我说,在这种境界里没有忧愁,没有激烈的情欲,也没有失望。

62. One who has no attachment to anything does not have any distress. Therefore, I say that in this state there is no sorrow, no intense desires, nor any disappointment.

63. 用伤害别人的手段来掩饰自己缺点的人,是可耻的。

63. It is shameful for someone to use means that harm others to cover up their own shortcomings.

64. 愿我能坚决勇敢,有毅力和恒心。愿我能仁慈、友善、富有同情心。愿我能谦卑、平和、宁静、沉著、安详。愿我能迈向完美的道路,而且能完喜地服务别人。

64. May I be resolute and brave, with perseverance and steadfastness. May I be compassionate, friendly, and empathetic. May I be humble, peaceful, tranquil, composed, and serene. May I tread the path to perfection and serve others beautifully.

65. 生活的累,一小半源于生存,一大半源于攀比。

65. The fatigue of life comes from survival in a small part, and from comparison in a large part.

66. 弥陀好念,勿虚彼国之金台;阎老无情,莫惹他家之铁棒。

69. 财富会毁灭愚笨的人,但不能毁灭想断除烦恼的人;当愚笨的人渴爱财富时,他不但害了自己,同时也损了别人。

69. Wealth can destroy the foolish, but it cannot destroy those who desire to eliminate烦恼 (distress or trouble); when the foolish become passionately fond of wealth, they not only harm themselves but also harm others.

70. 甚至当一个人拥有快乐时,这快乐仍然无法永远持久。

70. Even when a person possesses happiness, it still cannot last forever.

71. 念佛人心要清净,净心念佛净心听;心即佛兮佛即心,成佛无非心净定。
