3. In the dim moonlit sky, geese fly southward, and rumors say they return here. My journey is far from over, when will I return? The river is calm as the tide begins to recede, the forest darkens as mists linger. Tomorrow, as I gaze towards my hometown, I should see plum blossoms at the pass.
4. Analysis: The poet no longer directly expresses his homesickness, but instead uses a subtle, questioning tone to imply that the endless sorrow will fall upon whose family. He points out the act of looking at the moon and extends the scope of those who look at the moon. However, among those who look at the moon, the sentiment of feeling the autumn, the longing for someone, is different for each person. The poet is melancholic about the separation of his family, and thus, from the desolate moon palace, he brings forth the bone-deep longing for his loved ones.

10. And the character "思" (thought) leaves the reader with abundant imagination: the elders, brothers, and relatives, friends from hometown, the mountains and rivers, grass and trees of the hometown, the逝去的年华 (bygone years) and past events... 26.
26. Analysis: Inspired by the sight of the moon, the author uses the symbol of reunion, the mid-Autumn Festival's full moon, to contrast with his own wandering thoughts of homesickness. "Return home, break the great sword" refers to Wu Gang, who is punished to chop the osmanthus tree in the Moon Palace. Du Fu guesses that Wu Gang is not willing to chop the tree and longs to return to the mortal world. His desire to return is so strong that it even breaks the great sword he uses to chop the tree. The poem employs the technique of contrast to express the author's yearning for his hometown.

33. When I went away, willows drooped gently; Now that I return, it's drizzling with snow and rain.
34. Analysis: Through the depiction of actions and expressions, the longing for home is deepened. The character "望" (to look) corresponds to the previous character "疑" (to doubt), indicating that the poet has shifted from confusion to clarity. He looks up at the moon with anticipation, and can't help but remember that at this moment, his hometown is also under the glow of this bright moon. This naturally leads to the concluding sentence "低下头思念故乡." The action of "低下头" (bending the head) depicts the poet as completely lost in thought.
