In this vast universe, everything is interconnected and interdependent. From the twinkling of stars to the dance of particles of dust, every life bears endless mysteries. Let us embark on an exploration journey together to unveil the enigmatic veil of this mysterious universe.

1. The象 says: Commanders and leaders set out to fight, riding fierce horses and drawing strong bows, shooting accurately at a hundred steps with an arrow that pierces the target. The arrow hits the golden coin, bringing joy and good fortune. This hexagram is an alternating hexagram (below Kan, above Kun). "师" refers to the army. Kan represents water and danger; Kun represents the earth and compliance, symbolizing the integration of soldiers into farmers. War is fraught with danger, and the use of military force is an inevitable measure taken by sages. However, it can resolve conflicts smoothly and without obstacles because it conforms to the situation, and the army's departure is justified, thus transforming danger into good fortune.

2. After people leave, the tea cools down. If you don't cherish it, someone else will.

3. The "Three Treasures" view in the "Book of Changes" teaches us that humans are born by nature, nurtured by the earth, and are the masterpiece of the creation of heaven and earth. Heaven and earth have the power to nurture all things. Compared to heaven and earth, human bodies are so small, human lives are so fragile, and human lifespans are so short. However, humans can emulate the spirit of heaven and earth, and through moral cultivation, they can attain the level of unity with heaven and earth. By emulating the morality of heaven and earth and cultivating oneself, humans should also respect and cherish nature, live harmoniously on Earth, and only in this way can humans have a promising future.

4. The象曰: When the time is favorable, fortune turns and joy arises. Jie Tai Gong, a legendary sage, ascends the stage to be enshrined as a god. At this moment, all the gods step down. Even if there is misfortune, it won't turn into disaster. This hexagram consists of two different trigrams (the lower one is兑, representing the lake; the upper one is坎, representing water). The lake has water but its flow is limited; if it exceeds this limit, it will overflow. Therefore, there must be moderation, which is why it is called the Jie (节制) hexagram. The Jie hexagram is the opposite of the Huan (涣) hexagram and serves as its complementary hexagram, used in conjunction with each other. The heavens and earth must have moderation to remain ever new, a nation must have moderation to be stable, and an individual must have moderation to be perfect.

5. The hexagram says: Names inscribed above the golden list, not in vain the hard work of the years past. When one encounters this hexagram, it brings good fortune, and all endeavors will be prosperous. This hexagram is a compound hexagram (the lower trigram is Li, the upper trigram is Kan). Kan represents water; Li represents fire. Water and fire meet, with water above fire, the water overpowering the fire, and the great task of extinguishing the fire is accomplished. "Already" means "having been"; "Ji" means "to accomplish." "Ji Ji" means that the matter has been accomplished, but an eventual change will occur.

6. The hexagram says: The heaven bestows upon the poor a treasure of gold, without contention or robbery, it is evenly divided. Both parties receive their share of gold in hand, and all their aspirations are fulfilled. This hexagram is a compound hexagram (with Gen below and Ken above), where Gen symbolizes a mountain and Ken symbolizes the earth. When the mountain is on the ground, the earth is low and the mountain is high, representing a situation where one does not claim credit for one's achievements, does not boast of one's fame, and does not become proud of one's position. This is what is meant by modesty.

7. The象曰: When fortune is bad, it feels like being hungry oneself. Happily, food is sent to one's door, and it satisfies the taste and fills the stomach, bringing joy to the heart, and worries gradually diminish. This hexagram is a compound hexagram (the lower trigram is Zhen, the upper trigram is Li). Li represents the yin trigram; Zhen represents the yang trigram. The interaction of yin and yang, as if to crush hard objects, symbolizes the combination of benevolence and severity, combining firmness with gentleness. Shihe refers to the biting action of the upper and lower jaws, or chewing.

8. The hexagram says: A bright moon shines over the water, only seeing its shadow, but not its trace. The foolish man, seeing the treasure beneath, goes down to fetch it, only to find himself empty-handed. This hexagram is composed of the same hexagram (below Kan, above Kan) superimposed on each other. Kan represents water and danger. With two Kan superimposed, the danger is compounded, with layers of obstacles. One yang is trapped among two yin. Fortunately, the yin is empty and the yang is substantial, and sincerity can break through barriers. Although there are many dangers and difficulties, it is only then that the luster of human nature can shine.

9. In the 64th hexagram, the dragon may either rise and soar, or retreat to the deep waters, but in either case, there will be no harm. The "Xiang" says: "Or leaping into the deep," advancing will not bring misfortune. The "Xiang" also says: "The dragon may rise and soar, or retreat to the deep waters, but in either case, there will be no harm," because it can discern the timing and situation, so it can advance or retreat freely without harm.

10. The hexagram says: The great sage Ma and the great sage Tai Gong are not compatible; the people are worried and suspicious. The benefactor turns into an enemy without righteousness, and disputes arise out of nothing. This hexagram is an abnormal hexagram (the lower trigram is Zhen, representing thunder and movement; the upper trigram is Kün, representing earth and compliance) stacked on top of each other. Zhen represents thunder and movement; Kün represents earth and compliance. Movement leads to compliance, and compliance follows nature. Movement is within compliance, with the inner yang and the outer yin, moving in an orderly manner, advancing and retreating with ease, which is beneficial for progress.

11. The象 said: Tai Gong alone fishing in the Wei River, holding the fishing rod in hand, full of sorrow. When the time comes, he meets King Wen visiting, and from then on, he will never suffer any hardship. This hexagram is composed of two different trigrams (the lower trigram being Zhen, the upper trigram being Gen). Zhen represents thunder, Gen represents mountain. The mountain is above and thunder is below, indicating an outer firmness and inner emptiness. In spring, the warmth nurtures all things, and it is the time to cultivate the wise and educate the people. The yang is solid and the yin is empty; the solid nourishes people, and the empty is nourished by people. Rely on one's own strength.

12. The hexagram says: The handsome bird is lucky to escape from the cage, escaping disaster and showing its might. Once it achieves success, its fortune arrives, and it can travel freely to the east, west, south, and north. This hexagram is a compound hexagram (the lower trigram is Gen, the mountain; the upper trigram is Xun, the wood). Gen represents the mountain; Xun represents the wood. When wood is on top of the mountain, it gradually grows, and the mountain also becomes higher. This is a process of gradual progress, hence the name "Jian," which means to advance gradually without haste.

13. The Year 9, Month 2: The dragon has appeared on the ground, which is favorable for the emergence of great individuals with high moral caliber and strong power. 14. The象 said: The travelers on the road are in a hurry, anxious to cross the thin ice without a bridge. Caution and prudence can lead them through safely, but a single misstep can cause them to fall into the water. This hexagram is composed of two different trigrams (the lower is兑 and the upper is 巽). The character孚 (fú) originally means to incubate, referring to the very precise date when eggs hatch from their shells, symbolizing trust and reliability. The form of the hexagram is externally solid but internally empty, which metaphorically signifies sincerity and trust in the heart, hence the name Zhongfu (Central Trust). This is the fundamental principle for living and conducting oneself in the world.

From now on, the worries and melancholy are lifted, and joyous news resounds like thunder. This hexagram is an alternating hexagram (the lower one is Qian, the upper one is Kun), where Qian represents heaven, yang; Kun represents earth, yin. The interaction of yin and yang, the intercommunication from top to bottom, the intersection of heaven and earth, brings forth a myriad of things. Conversely, it is ominous. All things in the world are in a state of opposition, transformation, reaching a peak and then decline, and from decline to resurgence. Therefore, those who adapt to the times are prosperous (tai).

16. The hexagram says: Meeting a friend in a foreign land brings joy and happiness, one must know that good fortune will add to one's luck. From now on, having met with auspicious fortune, in the future, it is guaranteed that there will be no more trouble. This hexagram is a compound hexagram (the lower trigram is Xun and the upper trigram is Qian). Qian represents heaven; Xun represents wind. With wind under heaven, it blows over the entire earth, the yin and yang come together, and all things thrive. The Gou hexagram is the opposite of the Gua hexagram, and they are mutually called "complementary hexagrams." Gou is also pronounced as "gou," meaning the meeting of yin and yang. However, with five yang and one yin, they cannot coexist for long.

17. The象 says: As the leaping fish in the water is startled by the net, it jumps over the dragon gate and transforms into a dragon. The willow tree with a height of three chi hangs golden threads, and ten thousand peach blossoms reveal your ability. This hexagram is formed by the superimposition of different trigrams (the lower one is坤, the upper one is兑).坤 represents the earth and harmony;兑 represents the lake and water. The overflowing lake淹没 the earth, with a multitude of people fighting among themselves, where crises are bound to arise on all sides. 19. It is opposite to the earthquake hexagram. After the high tide, there will inevitably be a low tide, entering the relative static stage of things. 20.

20. The 20th hexagram, "The Dragon soars too high, it will surely regret," as the "Image" says: "The over-exuberant dragon will regret," for excess cannot endure for long. People should take this virtue to be diligent and encourage themselves.

The "Image" says: "The dragon潜伏 in the water is not yet used, because the yang is below." The "Image" also says: The dragon symbolizes yang. "The dragon is still潜伏 in the water, nurturing its essence and accumulating its strength, and it is not yet able to take action," is because this line is at the lowest position, and the yang cannot be emitted.

This hexagram is a compound hexagram (the lower trigram is kun, the earth, and the upper trigram is qian, the heaven) that is the opposite in structure to the Tai (Peace) hexagram. It signifies the rise of yang and the descent of yin, with heaven and earth not communicating, and all things blocked. With movement and vigor, strength of the yang is at its peak, and people's hearts are stirred, sure to achieve something. Opposite to the Xūn hexagram, they are complementary to each other as "the comprehensive hexagram." Qian represents strength and vitality, while Kan represents danger and entanglement.
