In the long river of life, each person is a book filled with mysteries. From the tottering steps of a child to the faltering gait of a centenarian, we are all continuously writing our own stories. As we master our destiny in the first half of our lives, we are also continuously releasing the wonders of life. Let us unveil this mysterious page together and explore the little bits of life that have slipped through the ages.
1. As long as we cultivate a strong inner self and steadfastly move forward on the path we have chosen, we will find that the further we go, the stronger we become, and the smoother the path becomes.
2. Faced with some despicable people and things, I can't let go of the entanglement and it haunts me, torturing myself all day long.
3. So I often feel regret for what I have done and regret for what I haven't done.
4. In fact, our life is a continuous process of making choices, and choices determine our lives and our destiny.
5. Regardless of how each of us has fared and the various hardships, twists, and painful choices we have encountered.
6. In fact, when compared carefully, the fates of individuals vary greatly from one another.
7. Only those who can truly do this can be called heroes, because throughout this journey, they need to forge ahead through thorns and brambles, endure rain and wind, and continuously strive without stopping, maintaining unwavering determination.
8. Our parents from the post-1960s and 1970s generation are the post-1930s and 1940s. Once one of our parents passes away, if they are under 80 years old, it feels like a heart-wrenching loss and filled with deep regret. It seems that not reaching the age of 80 means not being able to enjoy such a beautiful life, which is too regrettable and a great pity. It's incredibly painful for the children.
9. On the journey of life, we encounter many crossroads, so we are constantly making choices, ranging from small ones like what to eat, what to wear, and what to do today, to big ones like which school to attend, which job to take, and with whom to get married.
10. The age of human destiny, that is, the natural lifespan, is how many years? Currently, there are three opinions in the research community:
11. However, the matter is not as simple as that. People's average life expectancy is now long, reaching the 80s, for those born after the 1930s and those born after the 1940s. But for those born after the 1950s, especially the generations born after the 1960s and 1970s, their health and life expectancy seem to be far from optimistic.
12. Qi Bo replied: In ancient times, those who understood the way of nourishing life were able to adapt to the natural changes of the yin and yang of heaven and earth. They had moderate diets, regular作息 (work and rest), moderate labor, controlled sexual desires, and a positive mindset. Therefore, they were able to enjoy a long life.
13. If the past me could have been a bit more determined and stronger, I believe my life wouldn't have turned out to be like this. Perhaps I would have already lived the life I wanted.
14. There are still some people who believe that man can overcome nature, that as long as they strive hard, they can conquer destiny, and that with enough effort, nothing is impossible. Although it is commendable for them to have courage, it is also too tragic. It's like Don Quixote, who, ignoring his own insignificance, charges recklessly towards the gigantic windmills, holding the noble ideal of becoming a knight, only to create many absurd and comical situations in reality.
15. Also, due to the different choices made by people, it determines their截然 different fates.
16. At first glance, some of it sounds unrealistic, and the previously said "few people live to be 70" is also a fact. Now, as a common phenomenon in my place, people's lifespans have truly increased, and there are countless examples of people living over 80. However, on the other hand, the longevity of many people is maintained by various drugs and advanced medical equipment. In the early 1980s, there was a middle-aged man in our factory who was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer, which shook several nearby villages. Now, people suffering from all kinds of chronic diseases has become a common occurrence. Therefore, the length of life does not necessarily represent that people are healthier or that lifespans have increased. Instead, the difficulty and cost of medical treatment have become a major problem for modern people to live with. In general: living in the present, people face much more pressure than in the 1980s, which is an undeniable fact.
17. Beside me, there are also a group of people in dire straits: a master born in 1968 who has colon cancer and has undergone a bypass surgery; a 72-year-old with avascular necrosis of the femoral head; another 72-year-old who has had a heart bypass surgery; a 70-year-old who has had a heart transplant; a 71-year-old who is undergoing dialysis; a 74-year-old who has had pulmonary tuberculosis for many years; and another 70-year-old who has serious prostate problems and often experiences incontinence of urine and feces. As for the common "three highs" (high blood pressure, high blood sugar, and high cholesterol), they are not worth mentioning and are not a big deal.
18. We all hope to be treated gently by fate, but unfortunately, the heavens do not always comply with our wishes. We can never know whether the future holds surprises or shocks for us.
19. This was not the case with our parents' generation. Back then, if anyone got cancer, it was known throughout the surrounding villages; if someone was hospitalized, the whole village would know. Our parents' generation rarely had to be hospitalized for treatment before the age of 50. But for those of us born in the 1960s and 1970s, by the time we reach our fifties, how many of us haven't been hospitalized?
20. To put it simply, among those born in the 1960s and 1970s around me, there aren't many who are still in good health and have never been hospitalized. It seems like it's a rare occurrence. It seems as though everyone is living a life where they work, earn money, and get treated for illnesses. People are like machines, being repaired while being used.
21. And there are some people who come from poor families and have to bear the family responsibilities from a young age. They toil and strive for life throughout their lives, and the end of years, even decades, or even their entire lifetime of effort may only be the starting point for others.
22. From a young age, we were taught by our teachers and parents that we must study hard and read diligently, because reading changes fate, and knowledge changes fate. Otherwise, you will have to live such a life for a lifetime, with no chance of rising above it.
23. If you choose to forge ahead, although you will undoubtedly face storms and adversities, you can soar like a majestic eagle in the sky, reaching higher and further into the heavens, reaching any destination you desire, and possessing the freedom to control your own destiny.
24. In the end, fate is like this, carrying a trace of necessity amidst the accidents, and a trace of accident amidst the necessity. It is fate that chooses us, and it is also us who choose fate.
25. Regardless of which saying you follow, a person's natural lifespan is over 110 years. The natural lifespan is a person's destiny, determined by your life attributes, and it cannot be changed.
26. Live in the present, since the past cannot be returned and the future is too distant, we can only live in the present and do our best to handle every task that needs to be done now, and make the best choices we face now. Never let the future self regret the present, and let the present that can be grasped become the past that cannot be returned in the future.
27. Blaming fate for all the responsibilities of reality is merely an excuse for one's own lack of effort.
28. We can also consider the hard-won happiness in life as a blessing bestowed upon us by heaven, which enables us to cherish and protect it even better.
29. This is the biggest difference between our generation and the next generation. When we were young, we always hoped to use our abilities to create a good life for ourselves while also striving to contribute to our families, making our parents' lives better. However, our children are always ready to drain our blood, sweat, and tears, empty our wallets, and live carefree lives themselves. In the eyes of our children, it seems that we will never age, will always be able to create wealth like a machine, and will never need to take a rest.
30. Faced with some low-level pleasures, one can't control oneself and indulges endlessly, such as continuously scrolling through short videos, binge-watching series, playing video games, staying up late, smoking, and so on.
31. If you choose to be content with mediocrity, while you may enjoy a momentary comfort, you are like that frog sitting in the well, forever unaware of what the world beyond the sky above your head looks like, and will eventually die out of ignorance, wasting your entire life.
32. What about "运转"? That refers to the part of our lives that can be changed. For this part, we should strive our best to make changes.
33. Therefore, the choice is destiny, and destiny is within our choices.
34. All accidents are the inevitable result of the long-term accumulation of countless factors. Sudden death, short life, illness, and suffering are all closely related to your usual mood and behavior.
35. Some people believe in fatalism, holding that a person's fate is predetermined by heaven, and that everything you are experiencing now has been arranged in advance by the heavens.
36. These are choices we cannot make nor predict in advance, but regardless of how fate ultimately arranges our lives, we must live according to the starting hand and the initial moves fate has given us. As for how the final outcome will be, that entirely depends on our own personal choices.
37. At the beginning of the "Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon," the Yellow Emperor asked Qibo, the celestial master: "I have heard that people in ancient times could live to be a hundred years old and still have agile legs and feet. Now, people over fifty years old are considered to be at the end of their twilight years. What is the reason for this?"
38. You think that others' success is due to luck, but ignore the several times more effort they have put in behind the scenes than you have. You feel that your failure is because of luck, but you dare not admit that you are just making excuses for your own lack of effort.
39. However, there are still things that can be achieved through our own efforts. If we want to live the life we have always dreamt of and realize our dreams, we must endure loneliness, resist temptation, withstand trials, bear hardship, and then persevere in striving towards our goals with unwavering determination.
40. However, nowadays, social strata are becoming increasingly solidified, and the pathways for upward mobility are closing one by one, with an ever-growing call for it to be harder for individuals from humble backgrounds to rise to prominence. The slogan "Education is useless" also became increasingly popular for a while.
41. The differences among them are partly due to fate, and partly to the varying degrees of effort each has put in, resulting in different outcomes.
42. Faced with beautiful sights, sexual desire is vigorous and uncontrolled, frequently depleting kidney essence, eventually draining the body and leading to the collapse of the immune system.
43. Therefore, many of us from the post-1960s and post-1970s generation are prematurely aging and falling ill, and even some of our friends have passed away prematurely. It is for this reason that someone has exclaimed:
44. Let us have the freedom to hold our fate in our own hands as much as possible; that, I believe, is the very meaning of why we must strive hard.
45. In ancient times, due to the backward medical technology and underdeveloped productivity, the average life expectancy of humans was very low, and there was a saying that "reaching the age of seventy was rare in ancient times." Therefore, in ancient times, if a person could live to be sixty, they could feel extremely fortunate.
46. Sometimes I often think that while destiny plays a significant role in shaping who we are today, our own choices also play a crucial part.
47. Now it should be said that living to be over ninety is very fortunate. There are many people who live to be sixty. As living conditions get better and better, along with various medical conditions and numerous ways to take care of the elderly, it is expected that human life expectancy will only continue to increase.
48. In the face of delicious food, overindulgence, excessive drinking and eating, being unable to control one's mouth, imposes a heavy burden on the digestive system and cardiovascular system.
49. Moreover, shouldn't we be the ones to conquer ourselves? As long as we give our all in doing what we want to do, even if we don't succeed in the end, we should strive without any complaints or regrets.
50. This is a fact that people are unwilling to admit but have no choice but to acknowledge: the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer, which also verifies the Matthew Effect.
51. If you don't court death, you won't die. If you do court death, no one can save you.
52. Moreover, due to the differences in people's personalities, they tend to make different choices on the same matter.
53. However, people today often get drunk, stay up late, engage in frequent sexual intercourse, and have irregular work and rest schedules, which is why they become weak and frail, and are plagued by diseases as they pass the age of fifty.
54. In the face of external things, one cannot obtain what one desires, cannot let go, and spends a lifetime swirling in the whirlpool of desire and comparison.
55. When we are disappointed, we often console ourselves with thoughts like: If I gain it, it's my fortune; if I lose it, it's my fate. What is meant to be will be, and what is not meant to be, we should not strive for. This helps us to be more tolerant and accepting.
56. Therefore, it is precisely because of this that we must strive to resist the mighty tide of fate, allowing our lives to have more choices.
57. That's why knowledge payment has become popular among many young people, and various training courses and boot camps have emerged like bamboo shoots after a spring rain. Everyone wants to ride the knowledge payment train to achieve social class reversal and climb to the peak of life from then on.
58. Or perhaps if I hadn't done that back then, the past events wouldn't have occurred. If the past events hadn't happened, the current events wouldn't have occurred either. And if the current events hadn't happened, the resulting outcome wouldn't have been produced.
59. So, there will always be people in this world living the life we wish to lead. We can be envious and strive towards it as our goal, but it's best not to be jealous and harbor resentment: "Why does fate always favor others, while my own life is so不幸."
60. How long a person lives is half determined by fate and half by themselves. How one manages themselves directly determines their lifespan.
61. Optimize your lifestyle, adjust your physical health according to the changes of yin and yang in nature, strictly discipline yourself, and maintain a positive and optimistic attitude towards everything.
62. The heavens present us with a series of multiple-choice questions, and regardless of whether they are right or wrong, good or bad, we must choose one to follow through with.
63. But in the end, it was all just daydreaming. I have never taken any action or made any efforts towards it. I still go through the same mundane life day by day, one that ends just as I can see from a distance, and I have turned into the very person I used to dislike.
64. I'm about to turn 59 years old, and I should have no problem living to 60. My blood pressure is around 70-110, which is the same as when I was in my late teens, around 18 or 19 years old. Personally, I believe it's possible for most people to live to be 100.
65. Although this can turn the inevitable pain in life into a hardship arranged by heaven, allowing us to better accept and let go of it.
66. But the cruelty of reality is that sometimes, no matter how hard we try, there are people who have already given their all just by living.
67. People should live to the age of their destiny and pass away peacefully, but some do not live long, as it is their own "misdeeds" that shorten their lifespan.
68. If this continues, it is predictable what one's future destiny will be.
69. The second theory is the cell division theory. This means that the number of cell divisions and the cycle duration determine the lifespan. Human cells divide approximately 50 times, with a cycle of about 3 years. Multiplying the number of cell divisions by the number of cycles gives us an estimated lifespan of around 110 to 150 years.
70. According to the "Huang Di Nei Jing," the ancients were able to maintain their health and longevity by following the laws of the changes in the yin and yang of heaven and earth, thus nurturing their bodies and minds.
71. As they say, a single thought can turn one into a demon or a Buddha, and fate often lies within the span of a single thought.
72. It is because changing the course of destiny or taking control of one's own destiny requires great effort and overcoming numerous difficulties that only those with superhuman willpower can achieve it.
73. Master Qi Bo said: Now, people over fifty years old are in their declining years, unstable and vulnerable, all because of the disorder in their lives.
74. Some even prefer to watch their parents become sick or die from exhaustion rather than lower their own standard of living.
75. It is considered very fortunate for people to live to a certain age. Different people have different opinions. For those who haven't lived to be sixty, being over sixty is already considered very fortunate. For those who haven't reached eighty, it's only when they are over eighty that they are considered extremely fortunate. However, everyone wants to live a long life and everyone wants to live a few more years of luck. This is not just your own thought; it's about going with the flow. As long as you don't do anything foolish and pay attention to health care, no matter when you live, it is always considered very fortunate.
76. What about fate? It refers to that part of our lives that cannot be changed. For this part, we should choose to accept it.
77. Many times, it is not the destiny we believe in that changes us, but rather our choices that shape our destiny.
78. In fact, many times, the Matthew Effect merely serves as our shield, because the Matthew Effect is not entirely negative; it also has a positive aspect – the strong become stronger, and the weak become weaker.
79. Indeed, children from wealthy families benefit from the influence of their original family environment. Compared to children from poor families, they enjoy high-quality educational resources, material resources, and social connections, and have better family conditions, higher cultural literacy, and broader horizons. Therefore, the proportion of children from wealthy families who pass into top universities is naturally much higher than that of children from poor families.
80. In 1949, the average life expectancy of the Chinese population was 35 years; by 1957, it had increased to 57 years. At that time, we could indeed say that it was very fortunate for a person to live to be 60 years old.
81. The third theory is the sexual maturity theory. This theory states that the natural lifespan is eight to ten times the age of sexual maturity. The age of sexual maturity in humans is approximately 14 years old, therefore the natural lifespan is around 112 to 140 years.
82. However, it is difficult to grasp this degree, just like some people, even though they have not given their all, feel that they have reached the end of the road, and then comfort themselves by saying, "This is all fate!" Therefore, the premise of accepting one's fate should be based on our truly giving it our all, rather than raising our hands in surrender before even reaching the battlefield, frightened by the sound of the gunfire.
83. Often, it is not because we see hope that we strive, but rather that only through striving can we see hope. Believe that nature has given me talents that will surely be of use, and the heavens will never let you down for your efforts.
84. The Wheel of Fate is something that none of us can escape; it begins to turn from the day we are born.
85. I strongly agree with the views of the asker, and feel a sense of empathy. In the reality of social life, our parents raise us from childhood, through primary, junior, and senior high school to complete our education, and by the time we start our own families and careers, we are already in our 30s. After having our own jobs and careers, through our hard work and efforts over the past two to three decades, we have gained maturity in various aspects. At 60 years old, it is the second half of a person's life, and it is indeed as brief as people say: "Life is like a dream, and in a blink of an eye, a century has passed." As a person living in this world, some in their 50s and 60s die prematurely due to various diseases and incurable conditions, some are about to retire, and some are about to step down from their work positions, to enjoy their substantial retirement pensions and live a good life, yet they die prematurely. Some say: These people are not blessed, having worked hard and tirelessly for most of their lives, having endured all sorts of hardships, but when it was time to enjoy themselves, they left, wasting their efforts for the country and themselves. Therefore, I believe: Since our parents brought us into this world, all our hard work and toil are for a better life and survival,拼命 earning money to support the family and repay our parents for their nurturing. From another perspective, isn't that also enjoying life? Eating and drinking well, having enough to wear, having fun, enjoying the happiness of family life. Just as a song goes, "We haven't lived in vain." Isn't that true? So, it is fortunate to live from 50 to 60 years old; for those who die prematurely due to illness, it is a gain. For those who live to be 70, which is rare in history, eating well, being healthy with no diseases or disasters at 80 to 90 years old is not strange, isn't that a good fortune and a sign of great blessing?
86. Keep up the good work! May every person who works hard be treated gently by fate. Let's encourage each other!
