5. After becoming a young madam, Zhou Ying felt restless in the courtyard and climbed a tree to stay there. Upon hearing the news, Wu Pin hurried over and showed no blame for her not acting like a young madam. 13. 因为吴聘的强烈建议，吴蔚文终于力排众议、打破常规，让周莹成了第一个进入六椽厅的女子，参加吴家每天讨论生意的晨会，也因此有机会通过现场聆听和观察思考学习经商之道。

28. Wu Weiwén lost his temper because Wu Pin insisted on distributing porridge in a stubborn manner, and he also heard that Wu Pin was influenced by Zhou Ying. In a fit of anger, he decided to expel Zhou Ying from the Wu family. Wu Pin, who had always been respectful, firmly requested his father to retract his decision and stated that if Zhou Ying had to be sent away, he would go with her, as he could no longer bear to be apart from Zhou Ying.

30. 吴聘从外面回来，发现周莹不好好整理房间，却把一帮丫头聚起来，手舞足蹈、绘声绘色讲述她的经历和故事；她跟吴聘说自己已学会沏茶之类，结果毛手毛脚被地上的果皮绊倒。

30. Wu Pin returned from outside and found that Zhou Ying was not tidying up the room properly, but had gathered a group of maids around, dancing and acting out her experiences and stories vividly; she told Wu Pin that she had learned how to make tea and the like, but accidentally stumbled over a piece of fruit peel on the ground, tripping over her own feet.

31. 之后，吴聘还召集自己院里所有丫头小厮，宣布少奶奶在院里说什么做什么都可以，不许任何嚼舌根，也不许向老爷太太告状，违背者立刻撵出去。呵护之情令人动容。

After that, Wu Pin gathered all the maids and page boys under his charge and announced that the young master's wife could say and do whatever she pleased in the courtyard, without anyone being allowed to gossip or report to the master and madam. Offenders would be immediately expelled. The protective nature of this action moved people deeply.

33. 吴聘给周莹买了甑糕，让她趁热吃。周莹劝说吴聘也尝了几口。

33. Wu Pin bought Zeng Gao (a type of sticky rice cake) for Zhou Ying and asked her to eat it while it was hot. Zhou Ying persuaded Wu Pin to try a few bites as well.

34. 因为周莹与洋人进教堂等事，吴聘与之发生争执并晕倒。吴蔚文得知是周莹将吴聘气晕，十分生气，让下人开刑房欲打周莹。吴聘立马声称是自己不小心撞上门给撞晕的，并假装头痛发作，让周莹帮他按摩，使父亲不得不免去对周莹的责罚。

34. Because of Zhou Ying's involvement with foreigners entering churches and other matters, Wu Pin had a dispute with her and fainted. Wu Weiwen, upon learning that Zhou Ying had made Wu Pin faint, was extremely angry and ordered his servants to open the torture room to beat Zhou Ying. Wu Pin immediately claimed that it was an accident, saying he had accidentally bumped into the door and fainted, and then feigned a headache, asking Zhou Ying to massage him, which forced his father to cancel the punishment for Zhou Ying.

35. 因为，他比谁都更想你快乐，而不舍得让你难过和委屈。

35. Because he wants you to be happy more than anyone else, and he can't bear to see you sad or wronged.

36. 之后某天，吴聘要去城里，为让周莹也能借机尽兴逛逛，特意找了套小厮衣服让她换上。途中发现周莹爱吃甑糕，吴聘立刻给她买了一大块，并表示以后天天让人买给她吃。

36. One day later, Wu Pin decided to go to the city. To give Zhou Ying an opportunity to enjoy a leisurely stroll as well, he specially found a servant's outfit for her to change into. On the way, he discovered that Zhou Ying loved Zeng Cake, so he immediately bought a large piece for her and promised to have someone buy it for her every day from now on.

38. 在赈灾施粥现场，粥棚因人群挤压差点倒塌，吴聘死死护住周莹，使她免于被倒下的柱子砸倒，而他的眼神里满是担心。

39. 自周莹明确表示不想当丫头而想当学徒，吴聘就知她不是一般的女子，明白了她心中所愿，并一直想办法予以成全。

Such individuals, who have the fortune to enter a temple and become monks from a young age, have not truly participated in secular life in this lifetime, and their words also cannot resonate with the heart of someone like me, who has been immersed in the secular world for so long. I feel that he is his own person, and I am mine, and he cannot resolve my doubts. Perhaps there are too many greed, anger, ignorance, arrogance, and doubt in my heart.
