16. 死不可怕，死是清凉的夏夜，可供人无忧的安眠。

17. 没有才能的人，不能立功，无益于国家，不得受禄赏。

21. 宁我负天下人，不叫天下人负我！

21. I would rather bear the burden of the world than let the world bear the burden upon me!

22. 人可以断臂求生，怎么能断头求生呢？

22. People can sacrifice an arm to survive, but how can they sacrifice their head to survive?

23. 月明星稀，乌鹊南飞，绕树三匝，何枝可依？

23. The moon is bright, stars are sparse, crows fly southward, circling the tree thrice, to which branch can they cling?

24. 辞爵逃禄，不以利累名，不以位亏德谓之让。

24. Resigning one's title and leaving office, not allowing profit to burden one's reputation, and not allowing one's position to diminish one's virtue is called modesty.

25. 为表不必三让，又勿得浮华。

25. In order to show modesty, it is not necessary to make three concessions, and one should also avoid ostentation.

26. 对酒当歌，人生几何？譬如朝露，去日苦多。何以解忧，唯有杜康。

26. Toasting with wine, how vast is life? Like the morning dew, the days pass away with bitterness. What can alleviate sorrow? Only Du Kang (a legendary wine in ancient China).

27. 燕雀安知鸿鹄志哉！汝既拿住我，便当解去请赏。何必多问！

31. 青青子衿，悠悠我心，但为君故，沉吟至今。

32. 计者，选将，量敌，度地，料卒，远近，险易，计于庙堂也。

33. 抱歉，我的头太贵，而你的又太便宜！

34. 选其乡之俊造者而教学之，庶几先王之道不废，而有以益于天下。

34. Choose the outstanding individuals from their hometowns and educate them, so that perhaps the teachings of the former kings may not be forgotten, and they may contribute to the benefit of the world.

36. 世人昨天看错我，今天又看错我，也许明天还会看错我，但我依然是我。我从不怕世人看错我，我依然是我。

37. 设使天下无有孤，不知当有几人称王，几人称帝。或者人见孤强盛，又性不信天命之事，恐私心相评，言有不逊之志，妄相忖度，每用耿耿。

37. Suppose there were no me in the world, I don't know how many people would claim to be kings, how many would claim to be emperors. Perhaps people see me as strong and powerful, and I am also skeptical of the concept of heaven's destiny. I fear that they might privately pass judgment on me, speaking with disrespectful intentions, making arbitrary conjectures, and it always haunts me.

38. 失败并不可怕，可怕的是失败的同时也失去斗志。

40. 吾任天下之智力，以道御之，无所不可。

41. 龙能大能小，能升能隐，大则兴云吐雾，小则隐介藏形，升则飞腾于宇宙之间，隐则潜伏于波涛之内，龙乘时之变化，可比世之英雄！

41. The dragon can be great or small, capable of rising or hiding. When great, it can create clouds and spit out mist; when small, it can hide its shape among shadows. When rising, it soars among the cosmos; when hidden, it潜伏 in the midst of waves. The dragon rides the changes of time, comparable to the heroes of the world!

42. 日月之行，若出其中；星汉灿烂，若出其里。

42. The movement of the sun and the moon, as if emerging from its midst; the brilliance of the Milky Way, as if originating from within it.

43. 慨当以慷，忧思难忘。何以解忧，唯有杜康。

43. Full of emotion and generosity, the worries are unforgettable. What can relieve worry? Only the Du Kang wine.

44. 驾六龙，乘风而行；行四海，路下八邦；九合诸侯，一匡天下！

44. Riding six dragons, soaring with the wind; traversing the four seas, passing beneath eight realms; uniting nine states, bringing order to the world!

45. 满朝公卿，夜哭到明，明哭到夜，还能哭死董卓否？

45. With all the officials and nobles in the court weeping from night until morning, and then from morning until night, can they still manage to mourn their deaths into the ground?

46. 董卓之罪，暴于四海，吾等合大众、兴义兵而远近莫不响应，此以义动故也。今幼主微弱，制于奸臣，未有昌邑亡国之衅，而一旦改易，天下其孰安之？诸君北面，我自西向。

46. Dong Zhuo's crimes are known throughout the seas. We have united the masses and raised a just army, and everyone near and far has responded. This is because it is driven by righteousness. Now, the young ruler is weak and is controlled by cunning ministers. There has not yet been a disaster like the fall of the state of Chang'an, but if there is a sudden change, who in the world will be at ease? You all are facing north, but I will be facing west.

47. 自古以来就是大奸似忠、大伪似真，忠义和奸恶都不是从表面就能看出来的。也许你昨天看错了我曹操，可是今天你又看错了，但是我仍然是我，我从来都不怕别人看错我。

47. Since ancient times, great cunning has seemed loyal, and great deceit has seemed true. Loyalty and treachery cannot be discerned just from appearances. Perhaps you misunderstood me, Cao Cao, yesterday, but you have misunderstood me again today. But I remain myself, and I have never feared being misunderstood by others.

48. 东临碣石，以观沧海。水何澹澹，山岛竦峙。树木从生，百草丰茂。秋风萧瑟，洪波涌起。日月之行，若出其中。星汉灿烂，若出其里。幸甚至哉，歌以咏志。

48. Facing the Jieshi Stone in the east, to gaze upon the vast sea. The water is so calm, the mountains and islands stand tall. Trees and plants grow, and a hundred kinds of grass flourish. The autumn wind is sorrowful, and the surging waves rise. The journey of the sun and the moon seems to emerge from within. The Milky Way is brilliant, as if coming from its depths. How fortunate indeed, to sing in praise of one's aspirations.

49. 近日操屈身以事卓者，实欲乘间图之耳。今卓颇信操，操因得时近卓。闻司徒有七宝刀一口，愿借与操入相府刺杀之，虽死不恨！

51. 吾非笑别事，笑众位无一计杀董卓耳。操虽不才，愿即断董卓头，悬之都门，以谢天下。

51. I am not laughing about any other matter, but about the fact that none of you has a plan to kill Dong Zhuo. Although I am not talented, I am willing to cut off Dong Zhuo's head and hang it at the city gate to apologize to the world.

52. 不要愤怒，愤怒会降低你的智慧；也不要恨自己的敌人，因为仇恨会使你降低判断力，与其恨自己的敌人，不如拿他来为我所用。

52. Do not be angry, as anger will diminish your wisdom; nor should you hate your enemies, for hatred will impair your judgment. It is better to use your enemies for my own purposes than to harbor hatred towards them.
