1. Through faith, good character, diligence, meditation, and observing and experiencing the truth, understanding and practicing in tandem, and consistently engaging in correct thinking, one can alleviate great烦恼 (troubles or worries).
2. 宁静来自内心,勿向外寻求!
2. Tranquility comes from within, do not seek it outwardly!
3. 寻找别人过失,而且容易发怒的人,苦恼越来越多。离开没有烦恼的境界也越来越远。
3. Those who are prone to find faults in others and easily get angry will face increasing amounts of distress. They will also move further away from a state of being free from烦恼 (troubles or worries).
4. 良好的行为可帮助人们将来诞生到更美好的境界,而且使他更接近自由和解脱。
4. Good behavior can help people be born into a better realm in the future, and it brings them closer to freedom and liberation.
5. 不嫉妒、不贪婪、没有私欲,在所有情况下,内心都持有那份宁静,这就是高尚!
5. Without envy, without greed, without selfish desires, maintaining inner peace in all situations, this is what constitutes nobility!
6. 无论你遇见谁,他都是在你生命中该出现的人。
6. Whoever you meet, he is the person who should appear in your life.
7. 布施有三种:第一种是财物上的施舍,第二种是真理的布施,第三种是消除众生的恐惧。
7. There are three types of generosity: The first is the giving of material things, the second is the offering of truth, and the third is the alleviation of the fear of beings.
8. 在战场上征服百万雄师,远不如战胜自己。战胜自己的人是最伟大的征服者。
8. It is far better to conquer oneself than to conquer a million troops on the battlefield. He who conquers himself is the greatest conqueror.
9. 高尚的人施舍东西时,心中不存有任何意图或目的,这种不求果报的施舍所产生的功德是很难测量的。
9. A noble person, when making offerings, has no intentions or purposes in mind. The merit produced by such offerings without seeking any rewards is difficult to measure.
10. 诸法空相,不生不灭,不垢不净,不增不减。
10. All phenomena are empty and void of inherent existence, neither arising nor ceasing, neither defiled nor pure, neither increasing nor decreasing.
11. 放下过去的烦恼,不耽忧未来,不执著现在,你的内心就会平静。
11. Let go of the worries of the past, do not worry about the future, and do not be obsessed with the present, and your mind will be at peace.
12. 防止心意的愤怒,调御心猿意马,舍弃邪恶的念头,诚心履行正道。
12. Prevent the anger of the mind, govern the restless monkey-like mind, discard evil thoughts, and sincerely adhere to the path of righteousness.
13. 在这个世界上,永远不可用仇恨来止息仇恨,仇恨只可以慈爱来止息,这是一个永恒的真理。
13. In this world, hate cannot be used to extinguish hate; it can only be extinguished by compassion. This is an eternal truth.
14. 此有故彼有,此生故彼生;此无故彼无,此灭故彼灭。
14. If there is this, there is that; if this arises, that arises. If there is not this, there is not that; if this ceases, that ceases.
15. 生、老、病、死、忧伤和失望,跟自己不喜欢的人在一起,永不满足的欲望,这些存在的属性都是苦!
15. Birth, old age, illness, death, sorrow, and disappointment; being with someone you don't like; insatiable desires; these inherent qualities are all suffering!
16. 恨永远无法止恨,只有爱才可以止恨。
16. Hatred can never put an end to hatred; only love can put an end to hatred.
17. 田地因为杂草而荒芜,人们因为贪欲而受害;施舍东西给没有贪欲的人,将可以得到丰硕的果报。
17. The fields lie barren due to the growth of weeds, and people suffer due to their greed; giving things to those without greed will bring abundant rewards.
18. 假如你心存怨恨,那么它不但会阻碍你心智的发展,而且使你无法判断那言论到底是对还是错。
18. If you harbor resentment, it not only hinders the development of your mind but also prevents you from judging whether the statement is right or wrong.
19. 不贞洁是妇人的污垢,吝啬是施舍的污垢。所有坏的言行和意念都成为今生和后世的污垢。
19. Adultery is the dirt of women, and stinginess is the dirt of charity. All bad words, actions, and thoughts become the dirt of this life and the next.
20. 痛苦的根源是私欲,无论企求快乐、报复、或只企求长寿的欲望,都会导致痛苦。
20. The root of suffering is desire, whether it be the pursuit of happiness, revenge, or merely the desire for longevity, all of which lead to suffering.
21. 沉溺在爱欲的人,宛如兔子困在牢笼里那般惊恐,为束缚和执著所缠绑,长期受苦痛的折磨。
21. Those indulged in love and desire are as terrified as a rabbit trapped in a cage, entangled in bondage and attachment, and suffer long-term pain and torment.
22. 由自己的行为导致不好的结果,宛如铁生锈后,就会受锈的腐蚀。
22. When bad results are caused by one's own actions, it is as if iron, once rusted, will be corroded by the rust.
23. 从爱欲产生忧愁,从爱欲产生恐惧,拔除爱欲的人,既没有忧愁,也没有什么恐惧可言。
23. From desire arises sorrow, from desire arises fear. The one who uproots desire has neither sorrow nor fear to speak of.
24. 情绪不稳定,不能被人信赖又不善待朋友的人,健康情况将大打折扣。
24. People who are emotionally unstable, cannot be trusted, and do not treat their friends kindly will see a significant decline in their health.
25. 聪明的人,无论快乐或痛苦,都不会过度地表现他的感受。
25. A wise person does not excessively express their feelings, whether in joy or in sorrow.
26. 当一个人品尝到孤独与恬静的美味时,便不会产生恐惧的心理和犯罪的行为。
26. When one tastes the deliciousness of solitude and tranquility, there will be no fear in the heart and no criminal behavior.
27. 无论你遇见谁,他都是你生命中该出现的人,绝非偶然,他一定会教给你一些什么。
27. Whoever you meet, he is someone who should appear in your life, not by chance. He will definitely teach you something.
28. 及时行善,以免你的心里再起坏念头。凡是做善拖延的人,内心不易与恶事绝缘。
28. Do good deeds promptly, so that you do not entertain any bad thoughts in your heart. Those who delay doing good find it hard to completely sever themselves from evil.
29. 得失从缘,心无增减。
29. Gain and loss come from causes and conditions, the mind does not increase or decrease.
30. 通常发生下列这种情形:当一个人经历过坏医生的诊疗后,他连好医生也不信任了。
30. A common situation occurs: after experiencing the treatment of a bad doctor, a person even loses trust in good doctors.
31. 接触世俗的事物,内心不被**,没有忧愁,没有瑕疵,心灵安定,这是多么幸福啊!
31. To be in contact with secular matters yet remain uncorrupted in the heart, without worries, without blemishes, and with a tranquil mind – how blissful that is!
32. 执著自我的人,心智将会受到干扰。处处只考虑自我的人,将给自己带来忧愁。
32. Those who are overly attached to themselves will suffer mental disturbances. Those who always think only of themselves will bring themselves trouble.
33. 被不正确的思想所困住,爱欲强烈贪图感官享乐的人,欲望便加倍也增长,束缚也因而更坚牢。
33. Trapped by incorrect thoughts, those with intense desires for sensual pleasures, their desires are doubled and grow, and the bondage becomes even more firm as a result.
34. 纵使天上下金雨,仍不能满足感官的欲望。感官的欲望没什么快乐可言,只有痛苦。
34. Even if it rains gold from the heavens, it still cannot satisfy the desires of the senses. There is no joy in the desires of the senses; only pain.
35. 愚蠢的朋友比明智的敌人更糟糕。
35. A foolish friend is worse than a wise enemy.
36. 色即是空,空即是色。
36. Form is emptiness; emptiness is form.
37. 愿所有的生物、动物和人类,没有任何怨恨、疾病、忧伤,而且愿他(它)们都能快乐地保护自己。
37. May all living beings, animals, and humans have no resentment, disease, or sadness, and may they all be happy and protect themselves.
38. 假使有人说你的坏话,你不需要心怀恶意、愤恨、轻视或者对他们不满。
38. If someone speaks ill of you, you do not need to harbor malice, resentment, disdain, or be dissatisfied with them.
39. 不管事情开始于哪个时刻,都是对的时刻。
39. It is the right moment no matter when the things begin.
40. 一个人用钱应该合理,并且跟他的收入成比例,不可浪费也不可吝啬。不可处心积虑贪图财富,也不可挥霍奢侈。
40. A person should use money reasonably and proportionally to his income, neither wasteful nor miserly. Neither should one be overly greedy for wealth nor indulge in extravagant spending.
41. 所有的欲望,只有小小的甜味,而却隐藏著相当多的苦恼。
41. All desires have only a small sweetness, yet they hide a considerable amount of bitterness.
42. 胜利者招来怨恨,失败者生活在苦恼中。宁静的人舍弃胜败,所以平安幸福。
42. The victor invites enmity, and the loser lives in distress. The tranquil person forsakes the concept of victory and defeat, thus they enjoy peace and happiness.
43. 已经结束的,已经结束了。
43. What's over is over.
44. 伸手需要一瞬间,牵手却要很多年,无论你我遇见谁,他都是你生命中该出现的人,绝非偶然。
44. Reaching out takes a moment, but holding hands takes many years. No matter who you meet, they are the people who should appear in your life, never by chance.
45. 让我们本著无限的爱心,去对待所有的生物,就如同慈母冒著生命的危险去保护自己唯一的孩子。
45. Let us treat all living beings with infinite love, as a kind mother risks her own life to protect her only child.
46. 人们总是随著自己的信心和喜好而施舍。嫉妒别人的饮食和所有,白天和夜晚都得不到安宁。
46. People always give alms according to their own confidence and preferences. Jealousy of others' food and possessions brings no peace, day or night.
47. 常思索苦恼的来源,善于约束自己的感官,饮食有节制,充满信心和干劲,就不会被邪魔所击败,宛如大山岩不会被风所动摇。
47. Those who often ponder the sources of distress, are skilled in controlling their senses, have a moderate diet, and are filled with confidence and determination, will not be defeated by evil spirits, just as a great mountain rock is not shaken by the wind.
48. 以无所得故,菩提萨埵,依般若波罗蜜多故,心无挂碍,无挂碍故,无有**,远离颠倒梦想,究竟涅槃。
48. Because of not attaining anything, the Bodhisattva, relying on the Perfection of Wisdom (Prajñāpāramitā), has a mind without hindrance. Without hindrance, there is no **(desire), and thus, being free from delusion and dreams, he attains ultimate Nirvana.
49. 照见五蕴皆空,度一切苦厄。
49. Realizing that all the five aggregates are empty, one transcends all suffering and distress.
50. 能真正洞悉苦恼的真相,也就能够知道苦恼的来源、没有苦恼的境界和消除苦恼的途径。
50. To truly comprehend the truth of suffering, one can also know the source of suffering, the state without suffering, and the path to alleviate suffering.
51. 不知道苦恼的真相、苦恼的原因、除去苦恼的境界和消除苦恼的方法就叫做‘无知’。
51. Not knowing the truth of suffering, the cause of suffering, the state to eliminate suffering, and the methods to remove suffering is called 'ignorance'.
52. 以慈爱来感化怨恨,以良善来感化邪恶。以施舍来感化吝啬,以真实来感化谎言。
52. Win over resentment with kindness, and corrupt evil with goodness. Overcome miserliness with charity, and expose lies with truth.
53. 色不异空,空不异色,色即是空,空即是色。
53. Form is not different from emptiness, emptiness is not different from form; form is emptiness, emptiness is form.
54. 在恶行未成熟以前,行恶的人总以为自己干得天衣无缝,但等到恶行成熟时,行恶的人便尝到不好的后果。
54. Before the evil is fully matured, the doer of evil always thinks that they have done it perfectly, but once the evil is fully matured, the doer of evil will taste the bad consequences.
55. 不管现在或过去,我所教导你们的就是:苦与苦的止息。
55. Regardless of the present or the past, what I have taught you is: the cessation of suffering and the suffering itself.
56. 欲知前世因,今生受者是,欲知后世果,今生作者是。
56. To know the cause of past lives, one must look to those who suffer in this life; to know the fruit of future lives, one must look to those who act in this life.
57. 在家人应该把财产分为四份:一份供日常使用,两份做为储蓄或施舍之用,另一份留做紧急备用。
57. Householders should divide their property into four parts: one for daily use, two for savings or charity, and another for emergency reserve.
58. 不是真正的我,因为假如**是我的话,身体就可以自由自在而不生病了。
58. Not the real me, because if it were me, the body would be free and not get sick.
59. 智者应清除自己心灵的污垢,舍弃感官的享受,使内心没有挂碍。
59. A wise person should cleanse the dirtiness of their own mind, renounce the enjoyment of the senses, and let their inner self be free from attachments.
60. 灵明的知觉有五种障碍:贪欲、憎恨、睡眠和昏沉、不安和忧虑、疑惑。
60. There are five obstacles to clear perception: greed, hatred, drowsiness and dullness, restlessness and worry, and doubt.
61. 当一个人的言谈和举止怀著良善动机时,快乐便像影子般地跟随他。
61. When a person's words and actions are motivated by kindness, happiness follows him like a shadow.
62. 所有人类的不幸都源于不能直面现实。
62. All human misfortunes originate from the inability to face reality directly.
63. 聪明的人不奢望未来,也不追悔过去。
63. Wise people do not indulge in hopes for the future, nor do they regret the past.
64. 聪明的人时常清除内心的污垢,就如同工匠清理银矿中的杂质。
64. The wise person often cleanses the dirt within their heart, just as a craftsman cleanses impurities from a silver mine.
65. 好人不贪执任何事物。他只谈论高尚的事,而不追求爱欲和享受。无论他遇到快乐或痛苦,智者总是不过于得意或哀伤。
65. The good person does not greedily cling to anything. He only talks about noble things and does not pursue love and enjoyment. Whether he encounters happiness or suffering, the wise person is never overly elated or sorrowful.
