Amid the vast sea of Buddhist classics, love, this eternal theme of the world, is also imbued with a unique Zen meaning. The phrases that contain profound philosophy seem to be the most sincere interpretations of love by the ancient sages, prompting deep thought. Today, let us together explore those most poetic love statements in Buddhism and feel the light of wisdom that transcends time and space.
1. One flower, one world; one leaf, like a Buddha. A pure heart is like a lotus flower. If the heart is clean, the whole world is a pure land. The joys and sorrows, the sweet and sour, the bitter and spicy of life are all tied to the heart. What are the real obstacles when one has a positive mindset? Amidst the hustle and bustle of the world, do all things with kindness as the foundation, to do what is right and avoid what is wrong. My heart is calm, peaceful, and quiet, as natural and serene as a blooming lotus, not eager to open for anyone.
2. Non-contention is compassion, non-argumentation is wisdom, non-hearing is purity, non-attachment is freedom, non-greed is giving, overcoming evil is doing good, turning over is repentance, humility is bowing to the Buddha, observing etiquette is upholding precepts, forgiveness is liberation, contentment is letting go, and benefiting others is benefiting oneself.
3. Life is Zen. Live with an enlightened wisdom amidst haste, carve out a path in the ordinary, and it's all good whether you move or remain still; you're not surprised. Carry it, put it down, keep or discard. In the midst of the hustle and bustle, live with an inner peace, serenity, or tranquility, allowing fate to unfold in that peace. Do not be confused, do not get lost in love, do not fear the future, do not yearn for the past; this is the way to safety.
4. Unchanged with the circumstances, unchanged with the circumstances. A life governed by fate can only shine if built on the foundation of moral principles; the unchanging principles must be honed by the ever-changing life to achieve stability. Accompanying fate requires learning, and no one can successfully learn without suffering the bitterness of adversity. Because of fate, a life with compassion, truly loving fate, must be a happy life.
5. Buddhism often says that turning back is the way to salvation. But where should one turn back to? From selfishness to confusion, from greed to ignorance, from the five desires to the six defilements. This turning back leads us back to our true nature. Fan turned back to sleep; evil turns into virtue; defilement becomes clean with this turn. What is meant by turning back is letting go. Mahayana teaches you to let go. You should know that it is about putting it in your heart, not in your possessions.
6. Your heart is filled with joy, and you can also bring joy to others; if you have compassion in your heart, you can bring it to others. If you have money, you can give it up; if you have the means, you can give it up. Some people's hearts are filled only with greed and ignorance, and naturally, they give others greed and ignorance. Therefore, we advise everyone not to spread烦恼 (worry) and melancholy to others, because what they abandon will be what they gain, and this is an inevitable cause and effect.
7. Blessed individuals, through appreciating others' virtues, make their lives brighter; through praising others' virtues, they make their fortune more complete; through observing their inner selves, they allow their love and wisdom to fully manifest. People lacking in fortune often scrutinize others' shortcomings, causing their souls to become more polluted; they always talk about others' faults to create more troubles for themselves; I often judge others' right or wrong to punish myself, leading to my own suffering.
8. When we recite Buddha's name, we often feel the immense power of the Buddha. However, it is causality and good will that truly confer divine power upon the Buddha. Causality is an unbreakable law in the world. Everything we are enduring now is a result of our actions in the past, and everything we are about to encounter is in the present. Our thoughts lead to good and evil deeds, and good and evil deeds, in turn, determine our destiny. Therefore, seeking the Buddha is essentially seeking ourselves.
9. You say you have a sharp tongue but a soft heart. Your mouth is like a knife. When it cuts someone, it causes bleeding. Wherever your words reach, they bring pain. Can there still be a soft heart? Can there? We should be kind, gentle, and appreciate, but not use foul language, not incite discord, not flirt, not lie, and not engage in these four types of work. How to train oneself to be surrounded by various kinds of harm, yet transcend it, completely control it, all depends on wisdom.
10. Emptiness is the highest境界 in life. Only an empty cup can hold water, and an empty house can accommodate people. The utilitarian value of every container lies in its emptiness. Emptiness is a measure, a state of mind. Emptiness is potential and prerequisite, emptiness is the first cause. There are Buddhist scriptures that say everything is empty, and that emptiness itself is wonderful. Zen theory. Life is like tea, an empty cup can have endless good tea, as well as endless joy and感动.
11. People with a childlike heart will never grow old. If you look at the world with a simple gaze, you will become happy and content. Childlike hearts always rely on sunshine and a positive and optimistic attitude, treating people and things around them simply: express your liking boldly, do not conceal your dislike, let it go with a smile, and do not hold grudges. Life is fleeting. Keep a childlike heart, and you will find that there is nothing you cannot solve, and no hurdle you cannot overcome.
12. Emotional intelligence is not about being smooth and polished, but about being humble, tolerant, confident, and having a character that is grounded in virtue. Maturity is not about moving from simple to complex, but about transcending complexity back to simplicity. Awareness is not about being indifferent to all things, but about openly accepting what one cannot change. Success is not about pursuing the best in others' eyes, but about doing what one does best.
13. The quieter the mind, the more objectively one can recognize the world. Often, it is not because one cannot see through it, but because the mind is too chaotic. Silence begets wisdom, and the reason why the wise are not confused, besides learning, is more importantly due to calmness. To see this world clearly, one must first settle one's own mind. Do not let a pebble shatter your heart.
14. If the heart lacks goodness, its words and actions will be malicious; if the heart lacks virtue, its words and actions will be sordid; if the heart lacks self-respect, its words and actions will be humble; if the heart lacks honesty, its words and actions will be deceptive; if the heart lacks cultivation, its words and actions will be coarse; if the heart lacks enlightenment, its words and actions will be rude; if the heart lacks reverence, its words and actions will be arbitrary; without knowledge, its words and actions will be boring. The heart is a balance scale, weighing one's own words and actions; words and actions are a mirror, reflecting one's inner self.
15. If you love all, all will love you. This is charm. You do not harm all, and all will not harm you. This is peace. You cherish all, and all will cherish you, which is longevity. When you have all in your heart, all belongs to you. This is wealth. You treat all kindly, and all will treat you kindly. This is happiness.
16. Marriage is fate, children are fate, and siblings are fate. There are good deeds and bad deeds. Debt is one of the sins. As a family, since we have come together, there must be a profound connection. It could be a relationship of borrowing and repaying debts, or it could be that good deeds have met at one place, sharing similar interests, supporting each other. Regardless of what kind of connection brings us together, we should cherish it and be kind.
17. Respect the higher ranks, treat the lower ranks kindly, be friendly to people, be truthful to things, and have no regrets in your heart! Be honest, be clear, have a broad-mindedness, and express your own emotions. Only in this way can life be enjoyable. Live your own life quietly, tolerate others' defamation, endure the suffering, and let go of the beautiful things that cannot be held on to.
18. There are troubles every day. Being a good person and doing good deeds, one can have no regrets in a lifetime. With a calm heart, doing ordinary things, one can find peace in the morning and evening. Not forgetting others' kindness, not minding others, not thinking about others' mistakes, and not begrudging others' grievances. If you are at ease, the clouds will disperse and the mist will clear, leaving you with a clear blue sky. We are destined to meet with a smile to put an end to our enmity, from then on no longer concerning ourselves with the ancient past. A smile when meeting is the first elixir for nurturing the soul, while a frown is the first blade of suicide. When greed crosses the sea and has no limits, who will laugh at the fleeting clouds?
19. We cannot control our emotions. Firstly, we haven't practiced enough. Secondly, the people and things we encounter make us feel negative. When our emotions are affected, it is appropriate to distance ourselves from negative environments and calm down. Contemplate some happy people and things or embark on a long journey, open your heart, and then look back at the right and wrong before, and everything will become clear. Many conflicts arise from trivial matters, and without knowing how to compromise, they can escalate increasingly.
20. Being bearish can be a good mood; only when you let go of your concerns can you have a good mood. Everything is saying, it depends on how you see it. Everything is a prism, viewed from different angles, you see different results. An apple, some people like to appreciate its color, while others want to taste its deliciousness. What you care about is beneficial to you. Times have changed, and what we have been looking forward to may be worth nothing today. Amidst the hustle and bustle of life, pessimism is just a passing cloud; with numerous troubles, just think about it, and it's all sunny skies.
21. What is destined to come will eventually arrive, and what is destined to leave will certainly depart. Everything has its cause and effect; when the conditions are ripe, karma will arise, which cannot be prevented. However, what happens will eventually fade away, and what happens will end in vain. All things are mere passersby. Grasp the causes and conditions of your present life, take on your own responsibilities, do what needs to be done in front of you, and do your best once it's done. Let go of the past.
22. There is no real despair in life. Trees shed their leaves in autumn, and it is painful, but throughout the winter, they allow their hearts to accumulate strength in tranquility. When spring comes, youth is still there. As long as life is in your palm, there is no despair. Success or failure in a moment is just a minor cold in a lifetime. When your heart is tired, let it rest; the healing of the soul is the hope that life never dries up. Master Hsing Yun
23. Sometimes we walk too tired, not necessarily because we've walked too far, but because we carry too much burden. Sometimes we live too tired, not necessarily because we lack too much, but because we want too much. In fact, happiness is not a proof, but a sense of satisfaction. So you cannot use the quality of your life to prove your happiness index, but your sense of satisfaction can reveal your happiness. So Buddha said: He who is contented is joyful, and he who has no desire is strong.
24. 打开幸福之门有四把钥匙:1。嘴里有美德;
24. There are four keys to opening the door to happiness: 1. Have virtue in one's mouth;
25. 眼睛里还有人;
25. There are still people in the eyes.
26. 心中有爱;
26. Love in the heart.
27. Goodness is present in action. The virtue in one's mouth means leaving space for others to speak, rather than imposing soft violence on them; seeing others means stepping out of one's own small world, showing concern and sincerity towards each other; having love in one's heart means sowing the seeds of love within oneself and carefully nurturing its growth; goodness in one's actions means carrying love wherever one goes.
28. The root of all suffering lies in the self. I persist because we are immersed in the quagmire of greed, anger, ignorance, laziness, and doubt. Sometimes, even though we know that our thoughts and actions are wrong, we still allow our hearts to gallop wildly like unbridled horses, indulging in whatever we desire, causing ourselves pain, disturbing our own minds, and disturbing the minds of all beings. Remember: as soon as you let go, you will find peace.
29. A person lives an entire lifetime. In reality, there are some things that one should learn not to overthink. Some emotions, you should understand to hurt but not to hate; some pursuits must be willing to give up; some superficial appearances, let them not be stained by dust. Sometimes, meditation, in a moment, a cup of tea, a blade of grass, a fish, a grain of sand, a peach blossom, can reveal a complex world. In the world, there are a thousand levels of existence, and in the heart, there are a thousand words, from which one can attain a clear and ethereal Zen mind.
30. Buddha said, "The words we have said, the deeds we have done, the paths we have walked, and the people we have met, each moment is a memory of our future. Do not cherish yesterday, do not anticipate tomorrow, just live each day to the fullest. Say what you can say, do what you can do, walk the right path, and meet the people you want to see. Be down-to-earth, do not care about others, do not waste time. This is fate, and everything should be done with ease and flow."
31. In times of peace, the mind remains unoccupied; in times of trouble, it does not become chaotic; in the face of great events, it does not fear; and in the face of small matters, it does not procrastinate. The joys, sorrows, delights, and bitterness of life, all hang on the heart. If one maintains a good attitude, what is truly challenging? Amidst the bustling world, everything is guided by goodness, knowing what to do and what not to do. The heart naturally becomes more peaceful and tranquil, like a lotus flower that opens naturally and calmly, not opening for anyone or falling for anyone.
32. We are all strangers, unable to care for many people. For instance, the time of departure, or the people who part ways. In the heart, there are three parts, and not a single part is not jumping out. The more you want to persist, the faster you will leave. Everything depends on fate; deep connections gather, shallow ones follow. In life, how much pain have you underestimated, and that much pain will leave you. I am happy because I look down; I am happy because I am pessimistic.
33. When seeing others' goodness, one feels envy; when seeing others' ugliness, it feels repulsive; when seeing others' poverty, it feels contemptuous; when seeing others' illness and aging, it feels disdainful; when seeing others' misfortunes, one rejoices in their miseries. There is no joy, compassion, or sympathy at all. Life is unpredictable, and good and bad, beauty and ugliness, wealth and poverty, health and illness can all be reversed in an instant. Therefore, treating others well is treating oneself well.
34. The Buddha said: "All that is before our eyes is the fruit of the causes and conditions of our past lives. This is what you deserve; do not be complacent. What you have lost is what you should have lost, and there is no need to be sad. Gain and loss are all due to causes and conditions; why not be composed? Gain and loss come with the flow of causes and conditions, the mind does not increase or decrease, and the wind does not stir. It is determined by compassion and natural luck."
35. People are naturally alone; do not expect to rely on anyone, not even the one you love. The louder the吵闹, the more lonely it becomes. Life is filled with cultivation; only then can you remain as calm as water in solitude, and only then can you remain unharmed amidst turmoil.
36. In life, one must be able to endure losses. If one always clings to personal gain and does not let go, they will be overly concerned with every little detail. On the contrary, they may end up giving up everything and ultimately lose more. Truly wise people do not care about superficial losses; they value the substantial benefits. Those who can endure losses often enjoy peace and happiness throughout their lives. Being able to endure losses is a state of being and a wisdom in dealing with matters. The Buddha said: If you endure suffering, you will never lose anything, but if you cherish your blessings, you will receive blessings!

39. In the early days of Taoism, Buddhism was faintly visible, rising and falling as if in a cycle. Dharma expounded the teachings, from the Eastern Land to the Western Paradise. Both were later students and younger generations, indulging in alcohol and sensuality, damaging the true source. They fought for wealth, disregarding the teachings, yet they also aspired to reach the Western Paradise. Every 3,000 years, a complete Taoist appears, with the great teachings having a celestial lifespan. Master Qiu expounded the teachings, like ten thousand golden lotus flowers. The immortals in the higher realm. In the world, all the demons, can they be transformed into wise and virtuous individuals? 51. Because Taoism is a native religion in China, with "Tao" as its highest belief. In the ancient Chinese concept of ghosts and gods worship, Taoism takes the thoughts of Huang and Lao as its theoretical basis, and inherits the evolution of immortality techniques since the Warring States period. In the late Eastern Han Dynasty, a large number of Taoist organizations emerged, among which were the Taiping Tao and the Five Rice-Field Tao. The Ancestor Master Zhang Daoling officially founded the religious organization, which has a history of 1,800 years as of today. Taoism is a polytheistic religion, and the immortals it reveres are the personification of the Taoist faith in "Tao". Therefore, ancient people often wrote poems about Taoism.
