37. 佳节清明桃李笑,野田荒冢只生愁。雷惊天地龙蛇蛰,雨足郊原草木柔。人乞祭余骄妾妇,士甘焚死不公候。贤愚千载知谁是,满眼蓬蒿共一丘。
37. On the festival of Qingming, peach and plum trees smile, while in the wild fields and barren tombs, there is only sorrow. Thunder stirs the heavens and the earth, causing serpents and dragons to stir from their slumber, and the rain makes the grass and trees on the outskirts of the city soft and pliable. Through the ages, the wise and the foolish are known to be who they are, as all eyes see only bramble and reeds growing in the same mound.
