The purpose is to satirize the story of King You of Zhou, who favored the beautiful woman Bao Nai, who loved to spread malicious rumors, and eventually led to the country's downfall. After that, "destroying a city" and "destroying a country" became synonyms for a stunningly beautiful woman. In "Li Yan Nian's Song," the poet goes to great lengths in exaggeration, using alarming language, but it is not to warn the king or seek to draw lessons from history. Instead, he reverses the meaning and uses it to describe the great charm of a woman who can "destroy a city" and "destroy a country," aiming to evoke the king's desire for beauty and achieve the purpose of stirring the king's longing for beauty.
