Why is that? (It is because) they do not become joyful or sorrowful due to the good or bad of external things or their own gains and losses. When serving in the court, they worry about the people; when not serving in the court and wandering in the江湖, they worry about the king. So, it can be said that they worry in the court as well as in the distant江湖. If so, when will they feel happy? They would surely say: they worry before the people of the world worry, and they are happy after the people of the world are happy. Alas! If there are no such people, with whom should I be in agreement?
