I am not willing to follow the wealthy offspring of Chang'an City in engaging in gambling games like cockfighting and dog racing. To pluck a sword and sing抱怨, to kowtow and bend the knee before the gates of the nobility is not to my liking. In those days, people in Huaiyin City ridiculed Han Xin for his timidity and inability, while the ministers and officials of the Han Dynasty envied Jia Yi for his extraordinary talents.

35. A man should die on the frontier, and have his body wrapped in horsehide and buried there. — From the Book of the Later Han
