14. The conduct of a gentleman is characterized by tranquility in cultivating the self and frugality in nurturing virtue. Without a tranquil mind, one cannot clarify one's aspirations; without a peaceful state of mind, one cannot achieve great things. Study requires tranquility, and talent requires study. Without study, one cannot broaden one's abilities; without aspiration, one cannot achieve scholarly accomplishments. *Indolence cannot inspire one to strive for excellence, and impatience cannot temper one's character. As years pass by, time races on, and intentions fade with the days, one eventually becomes withered and barren, rarely engaging with the world. In sorrowful solitude, one dwells in a humble abode, and what more can one hope for!

15. 东君直是多情，好花一夜都开尽。杏梢零落，药栏迟暮，不教宁静。风度秋千，日移帘幕，翠红交映。正太真浴罢，西施浓抹，都沉醉、娇相称。

15. The East Lord is excessively affectionate, as the flowers bloom all night until they all fade. The apricot branches fall, and the medicine栏is in the waning evening, preventing tranquility. The breeze sweeps the swing, the sun shifts the curtains, green and red blend and reflect. It is just as Tai Zhen finishes her bath, and Xi Shi applies her makeup heavily, both are deeply drunk, and their delicate faces match their charm.

16. 磨遍绿窗铜镜。挽春衫、不堪比并。暮云空谷，佳人何处，碧苔侵迳。睡里相看，酒边凝想，许多风韵。问因何，却欠一些香味，惹傍人恨。

16. Polished the green window bronze mirror. The spring shirt is not comparable. In the evening clouds and empty valleys, where is the beauty, moss invades the path. In sleep, looking at each other, pondering by the wine, many charm. Ask why, it lacks a bit of fragrance, causing others to hate.

17. 纷纷坠叶飘香砌。夜寂静，寒声碎。真珠帘卷玉楼空，天淡银河垂地。年年今夜，月华如练，长是人千里。

17. The falling leaves scent the cobblestones. The night is quiet, and the cold whispers break into pieces. The pearl curtain is rolled up, leaving the jade pavilion empty, and the starry Milky Way hangs down to the ground. Every year on this night, the moonlight is as white as a silk sash, yet I am always separated by a thousand miles.

18. 愁肠已断无由醉，酒未到，先成泪。残灯明灭枕头欹，谙尽孤眠滋味。都来此事，眉间心上，无计相回避。

22. 意思：心中能做到淡泊明静，宠辱不惊。心中只是守着一颗平常心，不羡慕荣华富贵，不依赖权势。心中有自己的想法，但是纯真善良的。总之像是看透了这尘世，心中像是平静的湖面，去留无意对什么事都放开来看，胸怀浩渺，心境开阔，心中是水波不兴。真是去留无意，漫观天外云转云舒。

22. Meaning: To be able to maintain a tranquil and indifferent attitude in one's heart, unaffected by fame and honor or disgrace. One merely holds a normal heart, neither envying wealth and status nor depending on power. One has one's own thoughts, but they are pure and kind-hearted. In short, it's as if one has seen through this world, with a heart like a calm lake. One is indifferent to the coming and going of things, and views everything with a relaxed attitude. One's bosom is vast, and one's mind is broad. The heart is without ripples. It truly is indifferent to the coming and going, leisurely observing the clouds swirling and unfolding beyond the sky.

23. 菩提本无树，明镜亦非台，本来无一物，何处惹尘埃。——此偈出自《六祖坛经》。乃六祖慧能的禅悟之言，《六祖坛经》是后人根据禅宗六祖惠能的话编著而成。

23. The bodhi tree is not a tree, the bright mirror is not a dais, originally there is nothing, where can dust arise? — This verse is from the "Platform Sutra of the Sixth Patriarch." If the dust is inside, and the heart is outside, one often peels it off; there is no dust, and there is no heart. If there is dust in the heart, the dust itself is the heart. What is there to fear in the dust within the heart, when there is no dust and no heart? Just as Huìnéng said, "The compassionate one moves the heart," and as the Taoists say, "The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao." Their principles are the same. Buddhism emphasizes that all things are in the heart, pursuing worldliness; Taoism emphasizes detachment, pursuing seclusion. Buddhism seeks to transcend the world, while Taoism practices the cultivation of the present world. In seeking their principles, they are all a form of cultivation. It is a transcendence, but not a deliberate pursuit. The focus is on the heart: worldly people, there is no fixed method; then one knows that what is not the law is also not the law. The world's affairs, when understood, are still not fully understood; why not leave them as not fully understood?

25. 意思：心中平静琴声自然淡雅，我们听起来就不分古代现代了，强调自然淡雅是弹琴的最高境界。

25. Meaning: With a peaceful mind, the sound of the guqin naturally becomes elegant and understated. We listen to it without distinguishing between ancient and modern times, emphasizing that natural elegance is the highest level of playing the guqin.

26. 意思：天色清明的时候，江上明月就很会亮；人的心态平和淡定的时候，海鸥也会感知的。

26. Translation: When the sky is clear and bright, the moon on the river is very bright; when a person's mind is peaceful and composed, seagulls can also sense it.

27. 说的是万事万物都有因果，都有条件，还说人的内心活动会折射到外在物质世界。

Emotions are no more than a night's worth of dust, suddenly opening and closing, thriving and declining, and the wind erodes the hollow reputation of love.

35. 树影斑驳了场景，罅隙下的萤光恍惚隔了整个世纪。跳动的烛影，忧寂着谁的帘梦？晚钟客舟，摆渡着谁的落寞？烟波江上使人愁，浓雾不散，若人事始难分终易结。

35. The shadows of the trees mottled the scene, and the twinkling glow beneath the cracks seemed to span an entire century. The flickering candlelight, melancholically casting a spell over whose curtain dreams? The evening bell and the guest boat, ferrying whose loneliness? The misty river brings sorrow, the thick fog not dispersing, as if human affairs are hard to distinguish at the beginning and easy to tie at the end.

36. 如何舒缓郁结，让悲伤不那么明显。当真能一切归零，重启动记忆，不再结局。
