Between the lines, noble paper carries endless charm. The beauty of a single character, the elegance of two characters, and the meaning of three characters – how should they be interpreted? Follow me as we explore the mysteries within these characters.

1. Between the first and second months. Poetically speaking, on the day when the imperial court experiences both morning sunshine and evening rain, the poet is not only drunk on wine but also on the beautiful scenery.

2. If only the second poem is considered, the character "drink" in the title has no basis. Su Shi meant to say that most people enjoy boating on the lake on sunny days, but they do not realize that the lake and mountains are also beautiful in the rain. There is a Water Deity Temple on the lake, where the deity is constantly by the lake, having witnessed the various weather conditions of West Lake, from the rainy seasons to the clear sunny days. It is certain that the deity would agree with the author's aesthetic view, and thus the author invites the Water Deity to raise a cup together.

3. "Drink on the Lake: Two Poems after the Rain" is a set of poems by the Song Dynasty litterateur Su Shi. These two poems praise the beautiful scenery of West Lake and were written during Su Shi's tenure as the Prefect of Hangzhou. The first poem describes the poet welcoming guests in the morning glow and sharing drinks with them in the evening rain, immersed in the rain scenery of West Lake; the second poem gives a comprehensive description and evaluation of the diversity of the scenery of West Lake, using the beauty of West Lake to compare with the beauty of the legendary beauty, Xi Shi.

5. This set of poems consists of two poems, but many selections only value the second one, so the first one is little known. In fact, these two poems form a whole. Although the second poem is good, it is a supplement to the first. The "this meaning" mentioned in the first poem, "this meaning that you will not understand," refers to the West Lake in the second poem, which is suitable for both sunny and rainy days, just like a beautiful woman who is charming in both light and heavy makeup, showcasing her various attributes to the fullest.
