There were many cracks in the fields of the Shuangta region, and a deep ravine about 5 meters wide and 200 meters long sank into the plains. The Great Buddha Temple at Shuixiakou collapsed, with all the stone tablets inside twisted and falling to the northwest. The "Shengjing Daily" reported the terrible destruction suffered by the city of Wuwei and surrounding areas due to the earthquake: "The ground suddenly trembled violently, causing mountains and valleys to collapse, the sun to dim, and the cities and houses to fall, with about six or seven out of ten being destroyed. Prosperous areas were reduced to ruins, and the ancient sites of thousands of years were subjected to a great catastrophe. The哭声震动天地, and smoke could not be seen from thousands of wells.
